Immigration has continued to be a vast concern in the United States considering America has a substantial population of foreign born people. There has been many degrading statements of immigrants such as, immigrants ruining the economy because they don’t pay taxes and according to President Donald Trump, “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.” That’s why I consider it an immense controversy since The United states is founded on immigrants yet immigrants being in the United States is a towering issue in this century.

Immigration has caused lots of controversies from the beginning of time to current times, but now there’s a huge uproar putting the immigrant's ability to stay in the US at stake. Regulating Immigration has been in the works for the government for some time now, ever since Ellis Island in 1892 the government has created policies to help create a safe keeping and rules for America and the oncoming immigrants, such as the DACA program, proposed and passed by president Barack Obama in 2012 which “lets certain amount of people who came to the United States as children and meet several guidelines may request consideration of deferred action for a period of two years,” in other words it lets children brought into the United States illegally the ability to stay in the country, the government has also passed Immigration Reform Acts throughout the years which in summary created basic rules and guidelines for illegal immigrants and employers such as making sure that the immigrants have verification that they are allowed to work in the US, work permit and or green card, and employers having to check if they have these identifications, these types of regulations allow immigrants the ability to stay in the United States, get protected and allow them to work as well, with this has plenty of downsides, many citizens see these policies as easily letting terrorists enter the US, or some don’t agree with these types of policies and newly elected Donald J Trump has plenty of thoughts on these policies that will later change in the years.. Recently the talk about immigration has increased profusely, mainly because Donald J Trump was elected as president and his thoughts on immigration was one of the main concerning areas of trying to protect America, but the discussion is not only about policies this time it’s about the actions of illegal immigrants or just immigrants in general. Since the birth of America, the United States has been a place of hopes and dreams for those trapped by poverty, and political instability in their home counties. Today, since President Trump has taken office, the fight to send back undocumented immigrants has begun. The public has been divide over the issues of race. To which discrimination exists. Illegal immigration has been one of the major problems the United States has had for a long time. Some residence have been supportive, while others, like our president, want them out. I for one am one of those who are completely supportive. I am against all the discrimination put towards innocent people. I believe they should have every right to a good future just as us.

Because of advancement of the technology, the amount of spent on advertisement and other things has gone up. As a result, it increases the cost to run in the election.

There are around 43.3 million foreign-born people living in the United States today. Since the beginning of this country, immigrants have come to the US in search of a better life, better opportunity, or more simply put: the American Dream. Attitudes toward immigration throughout this time have been mostly up and down until the new Trump administration. Throughout his campaign, one of Donald Trump’s main promises was the idea of cracking down on illegal and even legal immigration. Since he has taken office, Trump has attempted to ban people from certain countries from entering the United States; to use billions of tax dollars to build a border wall; and even to destroy programs like DACA from helping immigrant students. Extreme vetting and general discriminations on immigration in America contradict the basic ethics and ideals on which it was founded and should be repealed in order to allow immigrants to help the US economy as much as they can.

So again, I think that we’ve got to keep all of this into proportion. We had 109 people that were temporarily detained. They’re all in, but they were temporarily detained to make sure that the safety of the other 324 million Americans was put first. The one factor of immigration that I am most knowledgeable of is Mexican immigrants. Now Mexican immigrants get the bad finger pointed at them a lot, however they immigrate here for multiple reasons. The example I am going to talk about is someone who is one of my close friends who I happen to room with at Dordt. My roommate’s mother was immigrant from Mexico. Her decision to move to the United States was for better living and better job opportunities. Since she has made that decision, she has had a better life. However, she has struggled with a maintaining well paying job. My roommate always talks to me about his life back home and how he sometimes is happy he is away in college because he does not like to see his mom struggling and going through problems.

Immigration in the United states is getting worse and better. Yes, we get people to work at jobs. But also people are coming here to live but they are illegal. Illegals come here with no green card or no citizenship. People work hard to be citizens and to be free. But some people abuse that and do not follow the rules of a different question. Most people say Immigration is good and illegals should be here because they are human like us and want to be free. But people who work hard and took a test and studied to be a citizen are most likely going to be mad. Like some people don't like immigration. But give it a shot but people have to go thru a test instead of coming here illegally. Also some illegal immigration bring in drugs and guns and also gangs. It has become a problem and is growing rapidly. Let's put a stop to illegal drug

Greater restrictions and more focus on immigration reform may cause you to worry about being snatched away from the life you've built and sent back to a country where you may be in danger of political violence or have less economic opportunities. If you fear deportation, take measures to get support, lower your stress and anxiety, and prepare in case the worst happens.

This essay is going to be a proposal about how to make the people who don’t like immigration and the immigrants both happy. The proposal i have is to have immigrants get any kind of disease or virus check before entering the states. Also i think that there should be jobs created specifically for immigrants coming in, so that they are not taking the jobs of citizens who have worked hard to get where they are at. My third idea, is that more regulations should be placed onto companies who hire immigrant workers on a constant basis. Many times companies will hire immigrants because they know they will work for less, however by adding more regulations we could create better wages for immigrants and give them an equal opportunity to better lives in America. Maybe with these types of changes people who aren’t for immigration might be more open minded to them migrating over here. Changes to immigration already need to change why not change to satisfy both parties.

Immigration has been a very controversial subject in the United States, however in the past decade immigration has been a key point in almost every politician's calendar. How can such a matter be so controversial? Being a rough number to actually be certain of due to the difficulty of keeping track of millions of people that have entered without authorization. Many argue that immigration to the United States has to stop while other’s welcome immigrants. Illegal immigration isn’t just an issue that has recently come up. This has been an issue for the United States in the past. America experienced its first ever recorded immigration wave in the 1660’s, this was due to a large amount of people seeking religious freedom and to escape dictatorship in Europe. According to the Pew Research Center an approximate 11 million illegal immigrants reside in the U.S. There being various reasons for immigrants to enter the U.S illegally. The American people have been overwhelmed by this issue that frankly hasn't had a solution that the people of the U.S can all agree on. Making it more difficult now is that many of these illegal aliens now are having children that are born American Citizens. This being a major issue due to deportation of the parents of American Citizens is not morally wrong, but it would leave millions of children without parents. After being elected as the 45th President of the United States, Donald trump has moved on to deal with the issue of immigration in the country. In one of the attempts, the President has backed a plan to cut the number of legal immigrants coming to the nation by half. The plan was proposed by Tom Cotton of Arkansas and David Perdue of Georgia with an aim of amending the 1965 law to cut the number of legal immigrants to the country by half. The amendment also states that entry will be based on the skills of the immigrants but not family ties (Kerwin 11). The President aims at prioritizing American citizens as addressed in his campaign slogan of making America great again. The immigrants benefiting from the program are those coming from poor countries. As any other amendment, the move will have both positive and negative effects to some people including my whole family. After analyzing the issue, I don’t agree with the plan to cut legal immigration in half.

Everyone is entitled a new start a new life, that should not be taking away from anyone. Immigration has been happening for quite some time now, for those who aren't familiar with the word immigration, it is the action of coming to live permanently in a foreign country. Everyday people are traveling here and there starting new lives, even right now as i'm typing this. Immigration should never stop, I feel this way because people have new lives to build, their humans beings and lastly we are entitled to visit other countries sometimes even stay why can't they do the same.
