Gun control is a massive topic in the United States, many people are against it yet many are for it. Gun control should be limited to city limits if they actually introduce new weapon laws, because in the county there are not gun restrictions. The second amendment protects americans for their right to bear arms as citizens of the United States. Americans are dangerous but they can be controlled, this is not the way to control how many people die a year from guns. newrepublic.com/article/125498/its-time-ban-guns-yes-them If anything, putting more gun restrictions in place will make it so there are more criminals, and then you have to worry about trafficking of weapons and drugs, probably at the same time. With that combo on the line it can make being a police officer even more dangerous, because which is worse? Crazy people with guns or crazy people on drugs with guns? You take your pick, but i'm sure i know the answer, so gun control should not happen anytime soon, at least in Oregon.
Except that “gun control” at its most radical still tends to refer to bans on certain weapons and closing loopholes, americans are trying to push this farther than it needs to go. The violence in a town or area won't stop because you don't have guns, there would definitely have to be a ban on any kind of weapon with severe punishment if caught with a weapon. Even though that is completely illegal it also wouldn't be able to happen regardless because of police officers. Police and
The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun. If gun laws become opposed to the law, then only criminals will have guns. Stricter gun laws will not stop a madman from killing. In fact, 34% of mass shooters were prohibited from owning weapons; although, a surveyed showed 57% of gun owners believe guns are too easy to buy and 35% of people who carry guns would make Americans feel safer. Gun control will only affect the law-biding citizens simultaneously as the demand of illegal weapons on the black-market increases. Background checks will only restrict criminals from legally buying a firearm, but that does not stop a mentally ill person; which are usually the ones to start a shooting massacre. The second amendment literally states “the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” Protected by the second amendment, it will be hard to regulate guns because now every single individual has a right to bear arms. For example, the Texas Baptist church shooter was gun downed by an armed citizen. Had there been stricter gun laws in Texas towards not being able to have a concealed firearm in public, the shooter could have gotten away. People should have the right to exercise the second amendment; therefore, gun control will not work because criminals will always find a way to obtain guns, supply and demand on the black market will increase and there are more existing weapons than people in the U.S.
Gun control would only make it easier for criminals to commit crimes. Gun ownership reduces the amount of crime. States with concealed carry regulations have a higher rate of crime. States with stricter concealed carry have higher rates of crime because criminals can commit crime without worry of being stopped by gun owners. If guns are banned, criminals would be the only ones with guns. Citizens that follow the laws would still follow the laws, whereas criminals would still break the law. Gun Ownership reduces crime, not gun control.
As you and your family walk through the store, a man dressed all in black walks in and pulls out an assault rifle and starts firing. People fall to the ground, including your mother, killed by the raging bullets. You and your surviving family hide, hoping to not be seen by the gunman. By this time the Police have arrived, ending the carnage. You were lucky, although others were not. Reports later prove this man was mentally ill and was able to acquire weapons without questioning. How could this of happened to your family and countless other families? The answer is the lack of gun control.
Unfortunately, many people possess guns would should not posses one. However I do not see it feasible to strengthen guns laws. I believe that there should be stronger penalties for people who are caught with a gun illegally and stronger penalties for people who are or threaten violence with a gun. This would make people think twice about smuggling a gun, or carry them when they are not supposed to. This might also influence Congress to pass a law for a stronger background check on people purchasing a gun, which would satisfy both sides of this argument. A stronger penalty for gun offenders might cause the amount of violence without a gun to rise a
Whenever people hear the word guns in any sentence, there frighten by the idea it can kill anyone, but it reality it can also save us from certain death ourselves. Gun were made to protect us, guns don't kill people people kill people and it's one the common mistake people make when it comes to decided to add gun control or not. They are part of the United States amendments and they are the reason why we all are protected in our society. Without guns to protect us, people can step on us and take over our city and even the country itself without protection.People has the mind to believe that gun kills when in reality people kills people which is why i am against gun control.
Gun control continues be a controversial and divisive topic in United States. The United States is the country with the highest rate of civilian gun ownership. Many people buy guns to protect themselves and their families. Some people buy guns for suicide, and some for crimes. Guns can bring security to many people, as well as insecurity for many. Should people be allow to have guns?
Gun Control will not prevent gun violence. Criminals will still be able to get guns through different ways illegally. There are things like the black or grey market or the deep web where people can buy anything, like guns. Even if they made a gun registry, made people do a number of background checks, criminals would still be able to get guns in some way. A statistic shows that 79% of people threatened with a gun protected themselves with a gun (“Should More Gun Control Laws be Enacted?”). If the people protecting themselves didn’t have those guns, then they would most likely be dead, and the gun death statistic would go up.
There have been many mass shootings in our country lately. There was Dallas, Las Vegas, and other shootings at churches. One shooting at a church occurred in Tennessee right up the road from Florence. Shootings in churches have really scared people in the church. It is crazy to believe that in our country some people are scared to go to church because of shooters that could possibly come in and harm them. These shooters have no mercy on people. No matter how old or how young they are it does not matter to them. It takes a crazy person to shoot up a building full of all ages. One of the shootings a five year old was killed. That isn’t even close to right. The government shouldn’t control what kind of guns are sold. The government should control who’s buying the guns. Guns can be a very good thing. Many people like to hunt and that requires using a gun to enjoy their hobby. Others like maybe people who have been in the military just like to shoot guns for fun. Then you have the people who just like to collect guns that look good. Those are some good reasons to have guns. People also buy guns with the intention to harm others. That is where making it harder to buy guns would come in handy. It isn’t the gun that kills people, it is the person using the gun that kills people
Currently gun control has been amidst one of the most thought of debates not only in recent times, but also in prior occasions. The mass shootings occurring more-often lately have fueled the altercation pertaining to one subject, gun control. Gun control may have many different meanings, or descriptions varying from person to person. One may think that gun control is banning guns all together, banning a certain category of weapons, or banning certain items like high capacity magazines, and flash suppressors. All of these would be forms of gun control, but the true meaning of gun control, as stated by an online article What Gun Control Could Look Like, “Gun control would allow citizens in the United States to still purchase firearms, but there would be reasonable regulations on firearms” (Greenblat). This statement introduces the idea that gun control would not be banning guns, but banning items that are unnecessary for civilians to have possession of. Banning all guns cannot happen because it would be infringing upon the second amendment, the right to bear arms. The second amendment cannot be changed or challenged, but perimeters may be set to keep guns and people’s capabilities with them limited. A firearm in the hands of a criminal or someone with bad intentions is not good, but it can be prevented. Gun control needs to happen, or mass shootings and high rates of violence will continue to occur in society.
“A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” The right of all Americans to bear arms is a right the Founding Fathers held to equal importance as the Constitution itself. Gun control laws directly violate this right and therefore should not even be under consideration. Even if that issue is overlooked, gun control advocates state that in order to reduce firearm related violence, gun control laws must be implemented to remove the violence caused by firearms. Although this may seem reasonable, the consequences of such laws are ironically counterproductive; they exacerbate the problem instead of fixing it. Besides the fact that the American

Besides the fact that the American Constitution guarantees its citizens the right to bear arms, the idea of restricting gun ownership in order to reduce firearm-related violence would ultimately fail given the previous experiments of gun control in England and in numerous states.
Gun control has become quite the controversial topic over the past few years. With the number of mass shootings rising each year, there’s no doubt about why it is more controversial than ever. But, I don’t believe having complete gun control will end to mass shootings and deaths in America. Gun control is important, but it needs to be thought about in different perspectives. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.
Everyone has a friend that is a gun nut. Most people get the wrong idea of guns due to the many various sources of media in today's society. Even though people think guns kill people, gun control is a bad idea because the less guns in public hands, the more crime there is; and if there are bans on guns, cop’s lives will be in danger and they will not be able to effectively protect the public.
The definition of Gun Control is the set of laws or policies that regulate the manufacture, sale, transfer, possession, modification, or use of firearms for civilians. Gun Control is a huge ongoing problem in the U.S.. It’s been a problem since the 1990s when the growth of crime rates went up. All the most populated cities have the strictest gun laws but they still have a high crime rate. Crime is not going to stop from a set of laws, criminals are going to get their weapons from different countries and this is far more worse because most of these weapons are untrackable meaning that it’ll be hard for the government to track the criminal down who had committed a crime with the weapon.
The problem of gun control is hotly debated nowadays. 50% of the population are for it explaining that having a gun provides them some protection. Because of various reasons our justice system cannot always protect us which is why the majority of people is looking for some other ways of staying safe. However, a gun is still a weapon. Despite the fact that most people want to possess it in order to be on the safe side, we are aware of a lot of accidents when innocent people were hurt unintentionally. For this reason, more and more people nowadays are supporting the complication of the procedure of getting a gun. Too many factors indicate its negative aspects. Of course, some of you might say that it is not the gun that kills people; it is people itself. You are absolutely right but the fact that those people have the gun is what leads them to such dreadful actions. We should take measures in order to reduce the amount of guns people possess, otherwise it may lead to a great number of tragedies. Rage, jealousy and anger are strong motifs and before you know it, somebody has already hurt the other person.
