Empathy
According to “bullyingstatistics.org” that a study in Britain found that at least half of suicides among young people are related to bullying. This shows that we need to find more ways to stop bullying all over by using alternate ways to stop bullying from taking so many of the young and thriving minds of today’s youth. Although empathy can be a great help when facing certain types of bullies, having confidence, teaching discipline, and standing up to the bully are much more effective ways to stopping a bully if you’re a bystander or the actual victim.
The first option you can take to help yourself and others fight against bullying is to gain self-confidence in yourself. Gaining confidence in yourself can help you gain a higher self-esteem which will help you against a bully. According to “stopbullying.gov”, one of the types of children that bullies seem to target more often are children with low self-esteem. This piece of evidence I had given you proves my point because if you have a higher amount of confidence you will gain a higher self-esteem since confidence is one of the key points to a high self-esteem and since you’d have no effect towards what the bully does they will eventually leave you alone. Another way you can use confidence to help against the effects of bullying is by preventing the victim from self-inflicting harm to self. For example, the website “verywell.com” tells us that
Bullying is one of the hardest thing to work on and prevent in today’s world. In school there are about 28 percent of kids that are getting bullied. The ages are between 12-18 year old kids “(According to American society for the positive care of children). The bully’s pick on people that are smaller than them and cannot fight back. Bullying can be hard to prevent in todays would but with the right help and effective intervention and solutions that can be stopped. “Those who bully and harass stand in the way of learning and threaten the safety of our children” (preface to “What laws will best prevent cyber-crime”). The whole point in going to school is to learn not to be fighting with the other kids. Because bullying is caused by todays increased
Children and teens from ages 10 to 14 are killing themselves at an alarming rate for youths states WBTV news. Suicide is the second leading cause of death for adolescents between the ages of 15-19, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics. Two mothers April Quick and Debbie Smith, both lost children to suicide due to bullying in 2015. The two girls, Debbie and Emily were both suffering from bullying and nobody would lend a hand to help. April’s daughter, Ashley was turned down from a six month program because of the severity of her cutting, Ashley would cut to escape and relief all her pain. Although the government made no federal laws about bullying, it is possible for the U.S department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights and Justice’s Civil Rights to help solve the problem of not only bullying, but harassment when it’s based on race, religion, color, sex, age, disability, or national origin. People tend to bully others due to insecurities, one may feel better seeing someone else down. It may also rely on family issues, or jealousy. Bullies should be legally responsible for what they do because it causes depression, disorders, and suicide.
Bullying can also occur at all ages and different environments. Kids, teenagers, and adults get bullied at school, in the Internet and at work. Bullying can also be quite subtle where the bullied person is just ignored or treated like an outcast. Whatever forms bullying might take, it has been recognized as a worldwide problem. Bullying in schools is prevalent in almost all the countries and it serves as a major health and safety problem for the kids (Juvonen & Graham, 2014). There are many ways in which people try to solve the problem of bullying. There are anti bullying assemblies in schools, seminars, lectures and many other initiatives. There is also the recent trend of publicity shaming bullies. However, all these measures do not really go far in solving the problem. The effective solution to stop bullying would be to start at the beginning-teaching kids about differences and encouraging them to be acceptable to everyone. Setting an example for them through proper behavior and discussions at home would go a long way in preventing
Has someone ever made fun of you, made you feel stupid, or made you feel bad about yourself? If yes, then you have been a victim of bullying. Bullying can diminish the mental and/or physical health of bullied individuals. This epidemic happens every day, yet nothing is trying to stop it. If no one addresses the problem, then it will continue to be a problem. Yes, there are programs trying to prevent bullying, but who is to say that people are listening? Even with all of the bully prevention programs, bullying is still not being addressed properly because it is still prevalent in causing negative impacts on one’s mental and physical health and can lead to suicidal thoughts.

Just keep it to yourself to stop people from getting hurt. Stand up for the person. If it feels safe, defend the person being bullied. Bullies often care a lot about being popular and powerful. If you make the bullying seem uncool, the bully may stop.
Do you wake up everyday afraid to go to school? Do you skip lunch because you are afraid of being harassed or excluded? Do you ever wonder about the future of the bully and the victim? Bullying, bullying has been around for a long time. Bullying has been in America since the country’s founding. Created from a competitive environment, bullying has remained a relevant issue throughout the years. Cyberbullying, has allowed the problem to expand, the thought to survive is an instinct and is common among all humans. Survival is associated with competition due to the large amount of species and limited resources on the planet. Since the dawn of time there has been a constant thought to do better than others and overcome obstacles. This survival instinct, along with a competitive atmosphere, has stayed the same as the human race has evolved. Both of these forces have flowed over into the educational, and social environment,
What if you were terrified to go to your school every day? 160,000 students miss school each day because they get bullied and are scared of what will happen (“Bullying Statistics”). Bullying has been a major problem in schools for far too long. Students should not be scared to go to a place that is supposed to be safe and where they can express themselves. Students that bully never get the punishment they deserve, which causes them to continue to act. When you go to school, you should know that if you are getting treated in a horrific way, the people who were treating you that way will get punished. Students who bully should be suspended from school.
People would think that since bullies are the ones who abuse others at a young age, they are the ones to abuse the law as adults. Victims at a younger age do not grow up the way they should. Revealed to peer pressure, they do not learn what would make them an adult. Childhood experience in bullying is a cycle and the victim can not get out of it unless the solution is solved earlier. The parents of the victims need to know it is a bigger issue than it seems and they should do something about it. According to a study, 14 percent of people who claimed to have been repeatedly bullied throughout their childhood years have been in prison, compared to the 6 percent that weren’t bullied.
Throughout and right after going through elementary school, middle school, and high school yours truly had thought that under no circumstances was I bullied in school. To successfully prevent bullying you must be able to spot it. Parents and teachers need to watch for instances of bullying. A person who is isolating themselves from a group doesn’t necessarily categorize a person as a loner. That could be a sign that they are being bullied. Just by noticing those warning signs and intervening can help the situation and possibly allow the person being bullied to find comfort in confining you.
