Raising the Age for Driving Would Lead to Less Responsibility in Teens
Nationwide the ability to drive is a privilege and laws must be followed which are different in many states. In California strict restriction are placed on teen drivers the driving age is 16 with a provisional license and after a 12 month period without any suspensions or probations you're allowed to get a full license. In California there are many laws restricting teens with provisional license like a curfew where driving is prohibited from 11pm to 5am. Also you're prohibited from having a passengers under the age of 20 unless an adult 25 years or older is present. I feel that the driving age shouldn’t be raised because a teen is already prepared to be driving at that age with training he/she gets through the difficult process of receiving a license. Both through the written and driving allows a young teen to be well aware and skilled at driving by the time they get behind the wheel and no need for a raise to the driving age.

I feel this is due to teens waiting till they're 18 to get license to not having to go though getting a provisional license which makes them less experienced to teens who have been driving for the last 2 years and accounts for 18 to 19 year olds having more accidents than 16 to 17 year olds. I feel a way to lower incidents of crashes in 18 to 19 year old teens is to shorten the time it takes to get a provisional license but make it more difficult in the tests. Also I feel states nationwide shouldn’t allow insurances to make getting insurance so costly. I feel many teens don’t get their provisional license because of the amount of time it takes and how expensive it is to start
Each year, 13,000 people are killed by drunk drivers with a blood alcohol level above .08. Advocates of a new standard for in-car breathalyzers say that most, if not all, of those accidents could have been avoided if the drunk driver hadn't been able to turn his or her car on. If Congress and Mothers Against Drunk Driving get their way, could your next new car could come with a breathalyzer pre-installed?
In the United States of America over 10,000 people die each year from accidents involving an alcohol-impaired driver and according to CBS news, that number is on the rise. Drunk driving is the criminal act of driving while being impaired, alcoholically. When alcohol is consumed it is absorbed into the bloodstream. In most situations alcohol slows down the brain's ability to control the body, reflexes are also affected by this. If a driver is impaired his ability to track moving objects are affected along with the ability to control the vehicle. Drunk driving is a controversial topic because, some people think there should be more laws to prevent it while other believe the laws should be left alone.
Both of you have been driving me all over the place for 18 years. You took me to get my permit and then finally my license. I thought by me receiving my license you guys might finally be tired of driving me everywhere, but that didn’t happen. If I had a car right now you guys wouldn’t have to drive me to every practice, every activity, and every job. Think of all the money you would save on gas! Neither of you would have to argue who’s turn was it to pick me up. Just think of all the benefits! So do your selves a favor and buy me a car.
Young teenagers are drinking and driving which by doing so can put someone's life in danger.
Can you imagine not being able to drive as a teen? I think raising the driving age would make life much more difficult for teenagers. It could make them miss out on learning the importance of responsibility. Without teenagers being able to drive themselves, they wouldn't be able to gain driving experience. Many teenagers also have jobs either during the summer or along with school, and many parents would not be willing to bring them to work, or other places. If teenages couldnt drive many of their lives would be very confined and anti-social.
Let’s get one thing out of the way first: driving drunk is stupid as fuck. Don’t do it. You have pledges for a reason. Use them.
In this advanced era, the number of street mishaps needs to expand altogether. Rash driving propensities reason these mishaps will happen. Numerous about today’s drivers bring risky driving propensities. And alongside our normal lives, you will extreme frisbee cross ways for an indiscreet driver. Exactly individuals survive these ordeals same time others don’t. Rash driving camwood a chance to be seen constantly. These drivers don;t main place there exists to peril as well as those exists of different honest folks. The profitable property needs to be been wrecked in the control of the reckless drivers. To enhance our driving it is crucial should recognize some regular risk propensities rehearsed by drivers.
Just this past summer on the day of July 15, 2017 a fatal accident involving a biker and a drunk driver.
According to an anonymous person, “The only time you should text and drive is when what you have to say is more important than your life.” This quote sums up how important it is not to text and drive, or drink and drive. There are laws against drinking and driving because it is very treacherous, but why not texting and driving? I believe that texting and driving should receive the same punishment as drinking and driving.
though they drive safely and obey all laws, their still at risk every time they ride. Unfortunately one evening, my great uncle Jim wats riding home from work when he was hit by a drunk driver. He didn’t wake up til hours later, with several broken ribs and a broken collar bone. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or CDC, “ Every day, 28 people in the United States die in motor vehicle crashes that involve an alcohol impaired driver”. Drunk driving is the act or crime of driving a vehicle while under the affect of drugs, typically alcohol. The legal limit for driving while impaired is a blood alcohol concentration, or BAC, of .08%, or .04% for commercial drivers(Motor Vehicle Safety). Exceeding this limit has severe consequences when persecuted. For first time offenders can be costly in time, fines and living other consequences. There’s a no tolerance policy for underage drinkers and immediate suspension of the drivers license. But even with all these consequences, people still drink and drive with a BAC over the limit (DUI & DWI Laws & Enforcement). Any amount of alcohol affects the human body, whether it is impaired judgement or a slowed response time. People can not be trusted to not drink and drive over the limit, by giving them this freedom many innocent life’s are at risk. While alcohol has the same effects as barbiturates, only barbiturates are a controlled substance (What are Barbiturates?). Alcohol is a psychoactive depressant drug and should be controlled.
When alcohol is present, people enjoy it whether it is out having a good time with others or alone in the comfort of their own home. In contrast, people abuse alcohol to numb pain or emotion they are feeling at that moment. People portray they know their limit when it comes to alcohol, and think that after a couple of drinks they are fine to drive, which they are not. Drinking and driving is against the law, and it is the cause of more car accidents or deaths in today’s time period. If people are involved in a drunk driving accident, more times or not the survivors are those who drank rather than those who did not. The photograph I observed is an ad by Toyota; there are three handicap parking spaces with handicap symbols doing something different. The stick figured person remains the same sitting position, but there are small changes in the setting in each parking spot. With the images as handicap parking spots sets the tone of the seriousness of drinking and driving because people who do such a thing result in injuring innocent people whose lifestyle will change temporarily or permanently. Accidents are not planned, but they are preventable. People blame alcohol for unrecalled actions they did, or choices they made. A careless decision of drinking and driving will lead to consequences such as a DUI, death, or becoming handicap. Instead of taking the initiative to drive after consuming alcohol, people to plan ahead of time to get to the next destination, rather than put themselves and others in danger.
Driving can be very dangerous . We need to always be ready to react to something unexpected on the street while driving. Being able to react proficiently can save lives and keep people safe. One of the stupidest things that people will do is drive while being distracted. Not only do they put their lives at stake, they put the lives of other people in stake as well. These people could be in the same car, in another car, or on the sidewalk. Regardless, don’t drive with any distractions. Some of the worst distractions people can have that hinders their driving abilities is drinking. It is illegal in the state of Utah to drive while under the influence of alcohol if the alcohol concentration level is 0.08 grams or more. However, I think that it may have recently been changed to be .05
Drunk driving has a bigger cost than people are willing to accept. Someone has to pay for it and it shouldn't be innocent people. From the lives of their children being taken, to money, and the loss of their own lives. This topic may not seem very controversial but it is very important, without taking these license you are giving them permission to continue what they are doing of putting other people and themselves at risk. Although it may seem harsh to take someone's license for a year, it is a much needed step to be taken. Taking a drunk drivers license will remove these possible punishments to innocent people and make the guilty serve their time. Without a license these drivers who have driven drunk will be removed off the road which in
A graduated license program would and has proven far more effective than raising the driving age to eighteen would be. Teens shouldn’t be immediately given the privilege of driving as soon as they turn sixteen. There is no possible way a written test can fully prepare them for the responsibilities and risks that come with driving. A program that gradually grants them that privilege through hands-on practice and adult supervision would help teens be less inexperienced on the road. Age isn’t the issue, it’s lack of experience and carelessness.
Have you ever watch people on the road, driving side to side that you can assume that the driver is drunk? Alcohol is a substance that reduces the function of the brain, impairing thinking, reasoning and muscle coordination. All these abilities are essential to operating a vehicle safely (reference 3). Millions of people in worldwide, do drink after drive. Most of them say or might say “Nothing happened, I got home safely, and nobody got hurt?” Just because you made it home safely does not mean that it is a right decision. Every day, almost 29 people in the United States die in alcohol-impaired vehicle crashes-that’s one person every 50 minutes in 2016(Reference1). When a drunk individual makes a decision to get on the
