Gay marriage is a topic that is so often discussed by those with highly diverse opinions. As some people agree with those of the same sex pursuing marriage, others do not seem to feel the same way. This fact can apply to individuals as well as entire countries. Several of these individuals and countries originally agreed with the subject of gay marriage as others were required to be forced due to the fact that their ban on gay marriage was decided as unconstitutional. Same-sex marriage is a controversial issue in today's world where some choose to agree with the decision of homosexual people and some choose to oppose it, all doing so usually for different reasons.

To contravene God and the bible must be the incipient trend since homosexuals celebrate it and feel that is it ok to get espoused under God. Marriage is a sacred commitment between man and woman and the legalization of gay espousement threatens the Americans religious rights. This topic matters because Christians feel as if getting married under God is an act of dishonor and that it is irrelevant. Marriage should stay between a man and woman because that is verbalized in the bible, children are more likely to live a normal life, and religious beliefs are not being ignored.

Some people in today's society believe that marriage between between two men or two women infringes upon their religious freedom instilled to them by this country. Todays law states that gay marriage is legal in all fifty states, however is does not specifically say that people can not refuse to bake a cake for such ceremony. Which allowed for religious freedom to be a big contributing factor in these cases. Which caused Christian Americans to believe they could discriminate against gays, by not baking cakes for their weddings, interfering with the gays personal freedoms. In this great nation, built upon freedom, one should not be able to deny anyone the cake of their dreams solely based on their sexual orientation. Unfortunately, people are able to get away with discrimination against gay couples and their wedding through religion, alternative arguments given by lawyers defending those who are refusing to bake cakes, and the judges proceeding the cases.

When the idea of marriage first came to light there was no church involvement. A couple simply moved in together and were considered married. Woman had no say as to whom they were married to, their father or head of house made that decision for them for political, economical or social gain. The women were considered property whilst the male was not exclusive to the marriage and could have many additional spouses. In the 50’s interracial marriage was illegal since then society realised that this was an unjust law that denied equal rights to couples who loved each other. The issue of gay marriage is no different. Denying marriage to two individuals who love each other is to deny them a fundamental freedom. Since these times marriage has changed dramatically, it has always evolved with the culture in which it’s enacted.

Today’s society has many strong opinions on who people should marry, especially when the couple is same sex. Marriage is a commitment between two people, and overtime homosexuals have been denied their necessary rights as a human. Luckily, Americans live in a land where they can marry whomever they choose, but in many states homosexuals are left out of the deal because they choose to marry the same sex. Gay and lesbian couples a bid by laws and should be treated with the same fairness and equality as any other human being.

People who like the same sex shouldn't be categorized in society as people to be frowned upon when they lead a good example, but others disagree. This is why the discussion of same-sex couples is so controversial. Gay marriage is a very important issue in modern society in the U.S because it is more accepted than what it used to be by everyday people and household life is healthier than in opposite sex marriages; unfortunately, it is still frowned upon by many and some business owners still decline service due to discrimination.

One argument for gay marriage and the support of gay lifestyles is that homosexuals cannot help who they are since they were born that way. We should not judge their sex choices any more than someone's skin color. The Bible does not agree. It says that we are all born with the propensity to sin and we need to fight against it. Some face a desire to steal, some to lie, some to kill, and others to sin sexually.
