The way we eat has changed more in the last 50 years than in the previous 10000 but the image that used to sell the food is still the agrarian imagery. One of the biggest issues that our generation is facing is the misinformation we get on what we are eating in daily basis. Often it occurs to us that we don’t know where this food comes from and how harmful it can be to our health. The industry doesn’t want us to know what we are eating, because if we knew, we might not want to eat it. The greed for money is bringing many challenges in our everyday lives. Contamination is inevitable and very difficult to be detected once it has happened. Using GMOs seeds might lead to the loss of the food varieties. Farmers will tend to crop plants, which will have a faster and bigger turn-around and lose interest on some other plants that could be more essential for our daily diet. Farming practices have been altered from organic to majorly GMO, in order to accommodate this highly profitable industry as well as the high demand by the citizens.
