This country has a mental health issue. We don't want to talk about it because it makes us look vulnerable. There is no law that can fix this, you could literally go door to door and take every single firearm in this country and we would still see tragedies like this occurring. We have a shit ton of people in this country and people like to kill each other, it's just the way this works for some reason. The reality of it is this; these public shooters are more or less a statistical anomaly. They're comparatively rare in a country where people constantly use illegally-acquired firearms to commit murders every day.

Some of the most crime-ridden areas of the country also have the most restrictive gun laws. We have seen time and time again with our allies that banning firearms simply doesn't work, violent crime usually rises actually and the people are left defenseless. So then …show more content…

Violent crime has actually been on a downward trend since the Assault Weapons Ban expired, instead the violent crime in this nation is becoming far more concentrated in the urban areas of cities. This is due to the breakdown of the middle class and the increase of poverty in the nation. When people are uneducated and angry, they will become violent. That's simple fact. Instead of properly funding schools our local, state and federal governments waste countless tax payer dollars pushing incredibly bloated bills and budgeting wasteful, redundant, government agencies. The violence we see in this country isn't the sickness, it's a symptom. This is what happens when we allow other people to control our lives and control our resources, this is what happens when they do so poorly. The United States ranks 14th in education, 19th in National Satisfaction, 44th in health care efficiency, 2nd in Ignorance, 101st in peace, 46th in freedom of the press, 26th in over all child well being, 24th in literacy, 1st in super rich, 6th in child poverty and 1st in incarceration
