The gun control debate is one issue that has been the most controversial topic between many people and it is still unresolved. It is all for those who support gun rights and those who are against it. According to the Second Amendment on the Constitution, it states that “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." It is completely legal for anyone to have a gun for self-defense. Ultimately this leads to a huge population of people having guns just because of this particular law, even if they don’t necessarily think they need it. In 2014, the United States had a population of 319 million people. After production data from firearm manufacturers, there were about 371 million firearms owned by private citizens and domestic law enforcement. If guns are only meant to be for self-defense, then why do so many violent crimes and attacks dealing with guns happen so often? Gun rights in America should not only be more regulated, but more limited as well. Out of all the countries, America is one of the few that is the most violent when it comes to guns. The amount of firearm homicides in America compared to Germany is about 16 times more. Compared to Canada it's about 6 times more. Since 2013, the Gun Violence Archive (GVA) have been tracking mass shootings, so research shows that there have been at least 1,518 mass shootings as of October 2017, with around 1,715 people killed and
