Each year, U.S. Immigration Policy allows roughly 1 million individuals to immigrate legally into the United States. These immigrants all have one thing in common when coming to the United States. Most of the people that immigrate are young and are looking for better employment opportunities or reunite with family already in the U.S. Other people are highly skilled or are entrepreneurs and come to the U.S. looking to utilize their skills. Although they have the same goals they fall under two categories; those who are legally in the country, and those who enter the U.S. illegally. Those who are an offspring of immigrants are automatically eligible for government benefits, but some will obtain false social security numbers. The government funding of illegal immigrants is in a way adding to the nation's debt. Millions of U.S. dollars go to help pay for illegal immigrant’s primary and secondary education as well as benefits such as SNAP, etc. It is a fact that immigrants are adding more money to the United States economy by paying taxes on gas, groceries and even property taxes. They also do not receive income tax credits, because most of them do not sign up for identification numbers. It has been noted that immigrants and United States natives generally do not compete for the same jobs. It is said that many immigrants counterpart the work of U.S. employees and increase productivity. Immigrants also open stores and other businesses the add workers and more business. Immigrants don’t always take the stereotypical jobs, such as janitors, fast food and landscapers. Those who apply for fake social security numbers are occupying jobs such as in the restaurant and hotel industry, and other jobs that natives are
