Sitting and over thinking something can have an odd impact on our decisions and actions. When our worst fears intertwine with the deepest parts of our imagination, we tend to twist reality into what we believe can happen. It can be the simplest of things such as doubts in a relationship, or being nervous about the final exam that you have to take the following week. These thoughts can cause our withdraw from situations and can also cause us to make certain decisions that may or may not be for the best. Most people tend to get the wrong impression when they think of “Imagination overcoming reason.” They believe that the only people that fall under this category are those with extreme fears or those who are borderline insane. Although this …show more content…
Of course like all people, our fears have loopholes of some kind. For example, if I am already comfortable with someone, like my best friend that i've known for four years, I do not have a problem talking to her. We all deal with our imagination in different ways and for some it is worse than others. Imagination can affect people in different ways. To put it simply, if I surveyed 100 people on the topic, “When does imagination overcome reason”, I would get 100 different answers. Everyone is unique, even if you share the same fear with someone else. It is how you handle that fear that will shape your actions and decisions. You would think that someone who is scared of heights will avoid them at all costs. But their are some people that have a fear of heights, yet love roller coasters as well. For example, in the book “The Fault in our Stars”, there are two characters that have cancer yet have different of of the world due to their disease. One believes she should cut herself off from everyone to limit the amount of people she hurts when she dies. While the other character believes that this is the time to live life before his time is up. As for the one that wants to live life, that is a positive outcome of when imagination overcomes reason. He doesn’t know when or even if his cancer will come back. But the fear of that cancer pushes him to do the things he
Did you know that if your child doesn't go to preschool your child is 25 percent more likely to drop out of school, 40 percent more likely to become a teen parent, and 70 percent more likely to be arrested for a violent crime? My aunt did not go to preschool therefore, she had to be held back in kindergarten twice because it was her first time being in a school environment, and so she didn’t know how to act or how to pay attention at the age 5, that’s just insane. She also became a teen parent, causing her to drop out of school at the age 17 so that she had to take care of her baby. All children should be required to go to preschool because it helps with brain development, child behavior development, and it can be cheaper (Five Surprising Facts
“Hey guys! This is the last communication you shall receive from me. I now walk out to live amongst the wild. Take care, it was great knowing you” (Qtd. In Krakauer 69). After graduating from Emory University, Christopher McCandless abandoned everything, gave his entire savings account to charity, and then hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wild. In the novel, Into the Wild, Was McCandless justified in shunning society? McCandless was justified in shunning society because he simply wanted to find himself and be independent without any distractions from his friends or family.
Everybody has a different perspective on fear and everybody is affected differently. The Mental Health Foundation stated that, “Fear can last for a short time and then pass but it can also last much longer and stay with us. In some cases it can take over our lives, affecting appetite, sleep, and concentration for long periods of time. Fear stops us from travelling, going to work or school, or even leaving the house.” This quote shows that fear does not affect people as much as it does to others. Although, fear can affect people for a long time which can cause them to stay isolated from others. There are many types of fears and some examples of fears include: the fear of the number 13, the fear of spiders, the fear of heights, and many others. There are hundreds of fears and many people have these fears and everybody is affected differently.
The scientific novel The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury collects 18 different stories and shows certain common themes in order to reflect real life concerns and problems during World War II in the 1950s. Ray Bradbury uses an overall serious narrative method in this novel to introduce the illustrated man as a storyteller for telling a clear moral point of view. The creative imagination as one of them, which related to most of the story. It points out the dangers of imagination for children and society and the power of imagination for achievement life goal. Ray Bradbury disputes that the creative imagination will always appear based on different situations; therefore, positive experiences stimulate imagination, while negative experiences of imagination lead people to lose control.
Many would argue that sports have a greater importance compared to the arts. Not only this, but many would say that art is not important enough to have a place in public schooling. However, those who have this mindset do not understand the countless amount of benefits that arts education has in an everyday student's life. Art education refers to education in music, dance, the visual arts, and theater. The engagement of students in the arts are essential to every student's educational career. However art programs always seem to come short in funding and this can later negatively impacts a student’s academic career. Budget cuts would be defined as the act of reducing budgeted expenditures. Budget cuts can come about due to a decreasing amount of money used to split among various school programs. The board members of school districts are constantly trying to get more resources. However, in the end, there is not enough money to cover for so many teachers, supplies, and programs. As budget cuts arise, the arts are almost always immediately targeted. The budget cuts would cut down funds for art supplies, musical instruments, and art teachers. In addition to funds that order to hire art organizations for programs which provide arts education services for students. Many public schools are struggling with budget cuts, resulting in the continued elimination of art programs across school districts throughout the nation. Due to budget constraints, fewer schools offer art classes today. Due to the fact that arts education is infrequently seen as a number one priority in public schools, there is little funding put into place and because of the diminishing amount of art programs, students are being deprived of the benefits that arts education can provide for them academically and non-academically.
Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last you create what you will. Out of all the stories we have read they all have shown how your imagination overcomes reasoning. In “The Cask of Amontillado” by Edgar Allan Poe, Montressor let his imagination take over him and was planning his revenge by just the thoughts he was getting ,and by that it made him kill a man. In “The fall of the house of Usher” by Edgar Allan Poe, Roderick’s thoughts made him believe things that aren’t really true and because of that it was damaging him or making him get out of control.. One event that happened in the story was that he thought that his sister was dead and so
Another reason imagination takes over has something to do with experience and maturity. Many people believe that, “...if you’re too young to know monsters are fake, it can be quite traumatic..” (Ringo 92). This is more logical because many children don’t know when something is real or fake just for the simple fact that they’ve never been in that situation. When people experience something that they don’t understand, we imagine that there’s no other way the situation can go but bad instead of thinking it through.
Being an athletes is one of the best-paid jobs on Earth. Being that they are paid so much the cost for the consumer is very high. The prices of tickets and sports memorabilia have been steadily rising over the years. The average ticket prices for the NHL, MLB, NBA and NFL all rose 5% to 10% this year, according to Jon Greenberg, executive editor of Team Marketing Report. (Mihoces).
Additionally, quoted from Albert Einstein, “Your imagination is your preview of life’s coming attractions,” a life’s preview that make one stable, to know that we have a set goal of cultural images and myths that can back us up as evidence when we are emotionally unstable to
Another cause for people having fear is the past experiences they have had. Generally, if something bad has happened to somebody, they try to forget about it and/or they try to make sure it never happens again. However, in doing so, they still have a subconscious fear that something similar to the terrible event they’ve experienced may somehow manage to happen again, especially if there are a few similarities between the past event and the current situation. For example, if a man had surgery for his heart to perform better and he nearly died, he may be very reluctant to ever have surgery to his heart or any other body part(s) again.
Why do we have imagination and work on it? It's because we want a better life, and they long to advance our future. If we don't have dream or imagination, they cannot innovate any new things and ideas. Reality always stays with imagination, but reality always stay away from imagination. We have to know and make a balance between reality and imagination. Jay Gatsby, who is a main character in The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, is the great example of someone who changes imagination to reality, keeps working on his dream, but be destroyed his dream by himself.

imagination. It exists in the mind in virtue of the nature of the human mind.
“Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will be choosing topics,” announced Mr. Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of anything and the teacher was slowly making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line. I have always thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly dragged myself over to his desk. Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. “What is your topic Cindy?” As usual in such desperate times, my mind turned to food. “Waffles are better than pancakes.” I figured that a waffle was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. “Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward to your essay!” I survived to live yet another day.
Why spend money that is really needed for other things? Why live uncomfortably? Why be trapped in this hole called a home that belongs to another person? Why not live free and peacefully? When a person rents he or she usually throws away money that could be used to purchase something that belongs to them. Money is not easy to come by so why pay out hundreds toward something that is not benefit to the person paying it out. There is no good explanation for making a decision like this. The best option in a situation like this is to buy a house. Buying a house is a better option than renting an apartment.
