Abstract Energy is the ability to do work, and the flow of energy from one place to another, as well as the transformation of energy from one form to another, has been crucial in the development of civilization, technology and industry. Since we rely heavily on non-renewable sources of energy, such as fossil fuels and coal, we tend to think of ways of how to maximize the efficiency of these resources, and save as much energy as we can. One of these ways is recycling, i.e. making already created objects usable again instead of making them again from scratch, which saves a lot of energy, but is the energy saved by recycling will always be enough to make up on the fact that population is growing fast and the demand of energy is increasing along with it? Providing concrete evidence, I have concluded in this research that recycling, although seems to be a great solution to the problems we face today, yet it is only temporary and we need to find other solutions in the near future.
Introduction
Transforming the potential energy which exists in the form of fossil fuels, gas or coal, into useful energy that we can use in many aspects of our life, mainly in creating products, has been the essence of building a modern human civilization. But as soon as we realized that these energy resources will deplete sooner than later, we not only rushed to find renewable resources which would last much longer (in effect forever), but we also wanted to maximize the efficiency
Recycling one ton of paper saves seventeen mature trees, seven thousand gallons of water, three cubic yards of landfill space, and two barrels of oil (“Environmental Impacts”). It is much easier than most people think to make such a big difference. If every person took a few minutes to go through the trash being put in the garbage and recycle the things that can be, it could completely change the world. It is the peoples job to take care of the planet and everything on it, and if people are not willing to do the right thing on their own, then they should be forced to. Everyone should be required to recycle because it is good for the environment, helps the economy, and saves energy, space, and resources.
Attention Getter: Most of the people present here today probably recycle; some more than others. And probably, most people assume that they are saving natural resources and helping the environment. However, this is not always true.
It’s a hot summer day and you’re enjoying your nice, cold, refreshing soda from a plastic bottle. You notice a blue bin labeled for plastic recycling and go to chuck it in however you may want to think twice before you do. Everyone has been told time and time again by teachers, peers, and family alike to recycle once in their life. It’s commonly accepted that recycling materials like paper, glass, and plastics will help our environment and our health. However recycling plastics is far more bad than good to both our health and the environment. Recycling plastics is harmful to the environment and human health and we must find a more responsible way to use plastics, recycle them, or do away with them.
Why do we recycle? You were taught in grade school that in order to “save the planet” we need to recycle. We recycle paper, plastic, cardboard, aluminum, glass, plastic, etc. We recycle to save landfill space, trees, energy, and money. We started recycling out of fear but in reality, everything we are afraid of isn't being helped by recycling. It's being made worse. I hope you come into my essay with an open mind and without biased opinions.
“Recycling Banks have enlisted more then 1 million people in 20 states to help save the planet” (Altmen, A. 2009, para.1). Are you part of this. Whether you are doing your own or part of a group. Are we doing our part to help save our palnet? Are we doing all that we can be doing. We can start out little by doing something locally like we are doing. If you make an impact locally it will get attention and spread farhter as it gets attention. We are proposing that cans and bottle get recycled in resturaunts and bars. We chose these items because these are the most common items that are able to be recylced in the resturaunts and bars and they are produced the most.
No recycling laws for Gatesburg. It is too complicated and time consuming with everything else that is going on in the world today. Citizens should not be concerned with how to throw away trash. The law calls for " administrative personnel" who will have the authority to write tickets. That is a waste time and money when they can find a more valuable position to assign that person to.
It is configured that about 70,000 tons of plastic ends up in the state 's landfills each year and only an estimated 20 percent gets recycled (“New Recycling Law to Promote Better Habits.”). Recycling is an important way to help keep the earth clean and reduce pollution in the air, grounds, and water. In the state of North Carolina recycling is only required in restaurants, but is recommended in homes and stores despite the fact it is not already mandatory. Recycling materials is shown to reduce wasted materials and save the state money in production costs (Davis). Recycling in North Carolina should be mandatory all over the state in homes, businesses, restaurants, and stores because it reduces pollution, wasted materials, greenhouse
For a long time people have polluted our air, by throwing trash everywhere. Now you're probably asking yourselves how am I going to help our environment? Well I have partnered up with Karile Ramirez, we have decided on October 21st we are going to Giant Rock, which is located in Lucerne Valley. We are going to pick up trash for about 5 hours. Before we can move forward their are a few steps we will need to complete before September 23rd. First step, get all items that we will need ex: Trash bags, gloves, water and more. Second step, talk to our parents about buying supplies we will need and where we will be taking and dumping all the trash when we are done. Third step, talk to our parents about transportation on getting to and from Giant Rock.
You all know what litter is, am I right, but most of us don’t know why others litter. Maybe they don’t care about their city and their mom still picks up after them or they just might be plain stupid. I'm just kidding, but they are possible reasons, but not the reasons I am going to inform you about. Well, some people litter because they don’t know the consequences of their actions, here is why it's not.
Monday mornings, you’re tired, you’re hungry and you just want it to be Friday evening already. You grab your takeaway coffee on the way to school and some pieces of fruit from the supermarket which you chuck in one of those plastic bags for fruit and then another plastic bag at the checkout. The issue is that too much waste is being produced in Australia and it is negatively impacting the environment and people need to think about the waste they are producing, in particular single use plastics; including plastic bags, plastic packaging and take away coffee cups.
You will find people that are passionate about it and others that don't care just like any other controversial topic. Recycling can be viewed as a very beneficial thing for the environment but, many believe it is just a waste of time. People don't seem to believe that the environment will not last forever if humans do not take care if the earth and it can be takin care of in simple forms. From lowering CO2 levels by carpooling with a co-worker or Friend or even using less plastic water bottles by buying a reusable water bottle. Small changes can overall have a great impact on the environment. Global warming is something that is happening and cannot be ignored any longer. Going green should be a big concern for the world not having the
shelfing from old windows, doors and mirrors, brings new life into old material. This will help with recycling and cutting down trees.
Humans are drawn towards what is morally good. Whether it is accepting responsibility for a person’s actions or giving generously to those in need, everyone feels compelled to do honorable actions. Many people feel obligated to recycle because recycling makes them feel good about themselves. In fact, some people are pushing for a mandatory recycling policy without realizing the effects it will have. Many are misinformed and do not realize the problems that can arise when they recycle. A mandatory recycling policy should not be enforced because the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.
Our planet, Earth, is the home to billions of humans and animals. People have a right to live their lives however they please, but some people abuse that right with allowing their “home” to be piled with trash and garbage buildup. People finish a water bottle and walk to take it to the trash, do you know what happens to that water bottle when it's not properly recycled? It’s dumped into a landfill with other ridiculous amounts of trash and starts to pollute the air, and sometimes the water, killing innocent animals and sea life. Too many people don’t recycle and it's slowly killing our beloved planet Earth, this is why recycling needs to be an enforced law.
There is a very real energy crisis in regards to the future of man, which will leave a cross generational affect if not treated now. The energy crisis is something that many don’t give enough attention to in the world of politics. The issue is gradually becoming more prevalent as years progress with focusing on the ways that energy gets used. The resources that are referenced are natural resources, such as coal and oil. However there is one product that is manmade and this would be gas from fossil fuels. “The best way to sum up the reality of the energy crisis is that you cannot have growing demands on limited resources without eventually running out of the resource” (conserve-energy). Essentially there is an overconsumption of energy, the infrastructure that is used to create the “efficient” energy is outdated and the quality is poor and to press even further there hasn’t been enough exploration of renewable energy. A proposal must start with the steps to solving this issue, one must examine how all these resources get used and at what rate. This proposal would investigate and seek to create a recyclable source of energy much like the industrial revolution, but with eco friendlier approach.
