It natural for man to always yearn for something higher than him, philosophically speaking. This higher thing man could be yearning for, in one aspect, could be goals. Goals are something we want to achieve, either in the long run or the short run. Goals can either be big or small. Everyone has a goal in mind. Goals are also helpful for a person to feel and attain success. What good does goal setting bring, exactly?
Goals can come in from every corner. When we are young, we are instilled goals by our parents. Go to school, make friends, come home with a star or two. Then we have our teachers who give us goals such as to finish an assignment on time, work on the assigned readings. And in a workspace, our boss can give us goals to run these papers, make a few calls, and so on.
Within yourself, however, you should also have goals. You should not set goals because of outside factors. Sometimes, it’s good to set goals on your own accord.
Simply setting goals is already a benefit within itself. Dr. Michelle Cleere, a mind expert with a PhD in Clinical Psychology, a Masters in Sports Psychology, and researcher, writes on her website several benefits that come with setting goals.
First, Dr. Cleere says that setting goals already shows that we are creating this sort of road map that we wish to follow. It is when a person decides and thinks how to get from one point to another. For instance, when you are a fresh graduate from college, a goal can be to get a job. Figuring out how
Setting goals give me the motivation I need so that I know I am working toward something I really want. My goals are my reminder that no matter how hard the task maybe I must take each one of them head on to accomplish them. Goals may change along the way however the result of them will never, and that is the feeling of success and accomplishment that I will feel knowing I’ve done all I can and set my mind to.
Setting goals for yourself is an important aspect to help achieve success in life. Setting goals not only helps guide you to be successful, but also helps a person believe in themselves
Setting goals are the most important thing you can do in your life. Without goals you are going to have no direction, no ambition to be successful, no drive to stay in school, and you would have trouble finding a career that will provide for you. When planning for success you must make good choices on the path you are going to choose. The wrong path will put you somewhere that is going to take you off track of your goals. For example, it can lead you to get lazy, partying too much and skipping school. You must stay on top of schoolwork and not fall behind. Now that you understand what a goal is, you might be wondering what the different types of goals
Whether we like to believe it goals play an important part in our lives. They keep us on track with what we want to accomplish in life. Some of my biggest goals were made as a child and others where just by surprise. However now I have much different goals set for myself. I have three main goals that can be separated into a personal, professional, and academic area. A personal goal is to become a great runner and roll model. A professional goal of mine is to become a nurse to help others in need and finally, my academic goal is to get a 3.5 GPA and graduate college. All these goals can be accomplished with hard work and dedication just like any other goal in life. We all want to strive for the best and sometimes we need smaller goals to help
Now that my goals are listed out and articulated into a time frame it really helps to put things into perspective of what needs to happen now. For instance I am just starting out in bobcats against hunger as an executive board member. I hope this position will bring out some more leaderships skills within me that will help me later in life, like when I apply for graduate schools and in the real world working hopefully doing my dream job. That is just yet another example of something that will help gear my towards my end goal. If no one ever set goals where would we be today? It is an interesting question and one that makes me thankful that we all set goals daily and achieve them. For example if I did not set a goal to review for a test then come that test I probably wouldn’t pass which would not further me along my aspirations to finish college. So therefore I’m glad I set goals and that everyone else does no matter how big or small they all eventually lead to something
If you do not set goals or achievements for yourself then, you will not be successful in life. One major goal that I set for myself is to be elected at the ROTC program at Colts Neck High School. Unfortunately, it will not be an easy goals to achieve. It is going to a long bumpy ride until I reach my destination. However, if I study hard, complete all of my school assignments, and get antoshining grades then, I can find a shortcut to make this ride shorter and maybe even smoother after all. Also, participation is one of the main keys to achieving this goal. I make sure that I participate in class and in after school activities such as track and field and basketball because then my teachers and my coach could recommend me. This single goal persily will overall make me smarter and a hardworking student by the end of the year.

Life Goals When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don't adjust the goals, adjust the action steps. – Confucius (“Confucius Quotes”). Everyone has goals, whether they be small or very large is up to the person. Furthermore, I believe by setting goals and planning on how to achieve those goals, they become more achievable. My life goals are to own the Houston Rockets, be the Commander of a spaceship, and obtain a superpower.
A one goal that I have set for myself is to keep moving forward into my careers. By moving more into a career will help me achieve better financial issues, less depression, better opportunities, better choices, and a better attitude toward life. Another goal

Goals are future plans and intentions of an individual. They are a fantastic motivational tool, not to mention that they give our lives a deeper sense of purpose. Striving for them and working hard to achieve them can give a roadmap to our actions, and by rearranging our existences around our ambitions, we run a lower risk of wandering off the metaphorical path or letting our short lives on this Earth end without completing all that we wanted to do. Modern civilization is set apart from long gone generations in this sense. While our ancestors were limited to hunting, gathering, and simply keeping the human race alive, the people of recent times are able to rely on those things to be done, and can instead focus on making their dreams a reality. I, too, have a set of goals for my own future.
