When your in a car what is it that your focus should be on: your car, the cars of others, the road, watching out for pedestrians, or watching for lights and signs? Well driving is all those thing put together and to add a phone to the mix is to many things for a single person to concentrate on. Some state have made it illegal for people to drive while using a hand held device and, I believe that is the right decision because while people are on their phones while driving they can: run into other car or hit pedestrians. Have you ever seen a car that's run a stop sign or light? Chances are you have and some of those times people are running late for something and don't notice it but i bet most times its because a person was too busy talking on their phone or even texting. …show more content…
So what happens when the "important" phone call turns into the "important" call to order diner or the "needed" phone call turns into the needed to call my nail salon for an appointment. Do we just let thees types of "need" and "importance" to president over the safety of people in and outside the car. Is it so much more important for someone to answer their phone then to pay attention to how they drive? I myself believe that the safety of others if vastly more important than a single phone call of "importance" or "need" than can turn into less of importance and need the more a driver does it. I like that states are starting to see the problem with people using hand held devices while driving and that they have finally taken a stand on the issue. When people are on devices and not paying attention to the road and their surroundings then everyone around them is in very dangerous situation because anything can happen between the time they pick up the device to when they put it back down. So if your driving down the road and your phone rings let it go to voice mail or don't have the phone on at all because your safety and the safety of everyone around you is more important than a single
Nearly 6,000 people are killed connecting to the outcome of cell phone use while driving, according to Edmunds.com (7). Texting and talking on the phone throughout the time that a person is driving can have deadly consequences, but people still don’t seem to want to give up risking their life. There are many issues that can happen while on the road related to the usage of cell phones. It is important to stop people from looking at their phones while driving, because it is extremely distracting and not safe. Even hands free devices are not as safe as they seem to be. There have to be consequences for people using their cell phones while driving in order to improve the people’s safety. According to Edmunds.com, cell phones are known as distractions everywhere in the world and have created several concerns to several countries (9).
Using a handheld cell phone could be one of the deadliest decisions you could make while operating a motor vehicle. The dangers and impact of using a cell phone while behind the wheel are numerous. One of the main reasons people still use their cell phones while driving is that there is no consistency in the laws across the country. Certain states have legislation that bans cell phone use, while other states only ban certain usage situations. Tough federal legislation is the only way to decrease the use of handheld cell phones while driving. The tougher the laws are, the less likely people will be to use
I am sure that everyone of you have heard about aliens and UFOs. Indeed, we all have heard about the famous case of aliens and UFOs in Roswell, New Mexico. Most people might be interested in the topic of aliens, but I know that the majority of you just think of it as rumours and the existence of them are impossible. Therefore, I am standing here in front all of you to make you change your perspective. I am strongly confident that I have found the evidence of their real existence to convince all of you.
First of all, I believe that driving while holding a handheld cell phone should be illegal. One of the reasons is you can very easily get distracted while driving. The death roles around the world are unbelievable, because of the amount of deaths we have came across. When drivers are using a handheld cell phone their less likely to pay more attention to the road. Their is drivers every day that get distracted while driving, in my opinion those who use cell phones will be more distracted by their cell phone than they are to other drivers. If your phone is ringing an it is out of arms reach it can cause you to swerve into other vehicles when you go to reach for it or answer it. Sometimes your phones ring tone can be a distraction, the
Despite an effective way of communication, using cell phones during driving results in the distracted attention of driver increasing road safety concerns.
Cell phone use while driving should be banned. I say this because studies done by US Legal, Inc. shows that talking on the phone is distracting and can increase your chance of getting into an accident. Jonathan Adkins said “taxes the cognitive skills of your brain at the expense of the driving at the hand, and if the conversation is stressful your reaction time would not be as quick”. This tells me that most people
In the contemporary world people are constantly moving, thinking, and exploring. Technology has not only supplied us with ways of getting information in a timely manor, but created the burden of constant distraction to all who use its benefits. In some states it is illegal to drive while using a hand held cell phone; not only do I agree with this law but I think it is of the up most importance. Driving with a cell phone causes hazards such as: accidents involving the driver and others, continuing a constant state distraction, and even ruining ones life. When one drives with a mobile device it immediately puts not only them, but all those around them at risk. It impairs your judgment and decision making skills which makes driving
Lastly, being on a phone greatly affects people's driving. If being on the phone did not affect people's driving there would not be a death toll of at least eleven people everyday due to being on the phone. As a society, everyone needs to stop and think about that. What if it were someone kin to us in the eleven dead a day? Would it still not affect driving skills? It takes on average to look at your phone five seconds. That is the length of a baseball field. “On average there is 263.6 million cars on the road”;(transportation) therefore, meeting someone on the road is very likely. Not to mention in fifty five miles how many nature related things there are to pass. That just adds to the list of things there are to hit. It is definitely not safe to be on your phone while driving.
Lastly, cell phone use while driving should be banned because it can become dangerous for oneself as well as others on the road. Not only does cell phone use for drivers endanger other people, it endangers the life of the operator itself. Drivers can run off the road into trees, ditches, or poles; they may also run into other cars or drift into oncoming traffic. Using a cell phone while driving also puts other drivers on the road in danger; if a driver is texting, their eyes are on their phone and they may not see the car in front of them stopping, which will lead into a wreck that could injury someone.
The changes in regulations and rules in the United States are not the same of using the mobile phones while driving. Each state must come up with strict guidelines for the use of cell phones while driving. When you don’t pay attention while you are driving, you know anything can happen at any time. Eating, texting, having too many people in the car, and playing very loud music are bad routines which spoil our driving skills. In 2010 almost 55% of drivers admitted to
All drivers are distracted whether it is a kid in the back seat of the car acting up or the music's too loud. Phones are constantly with us because they are like our best friends; we take them everywhere. There is not a place in the United States that you can go and not see a single person with a phone; it's impossible. Phones are a way to keep contact with people and can most often cause a distraction no matter where you are. Being on a phone trying to send two letters (O-K ) to your boyfriend can wait; it’s not worth someone else's life or yours. Phones should be banned because it's just not worth accidentally killing someone and having to live with the guilt the rest of your life.
Its been about a hundred and thirty-nine years since Alexander Graham Bell made the first phone. The cellphone was made to replace the phone and its has become poplar. The progression of test messaging and social media sites through the more advanced technology has more people on their phones, becoming one of the largest distractions. Whether people think they can safely type on their phones while driving or just do not think there is any real danger in the act is a misconception. Being on the phone while driving is dangerous and needs to be
There is a lot of debate on whether talking on the phone while driving is actually dangerous. In 2011, at any given daylight moment across America, approximately 660,000 drivers are using cell phones or manipulating electronic devices while driving (Distraction.gov). But recently it was announced that new studies revealed talking on a cell phone isn’t nearly as dangerous as texting, or accessing the web. I believe talking on the phone while driving is still very dangerous. When someone is talking on a phone they can only steer with one hand and that can easily lead to loss of control and cause an accident. New advances in technology such as hands free devices are advertised to make cell phone use while driving easier and safer. Studies on the devices show it is still not safer because
For example, using a leftover coffee can for loose nails or screws, or even washing and reusing a plastic zip-loc bag instead of throwing it in the garbage. Thrift shopping is a way of reusing someone else’s unwanted goods. As I spoke about in an earlier speech about thrifting, I included many locations and ways to thrift, also the benefits to the shopper and the donator. One place in particular was shopping at the local boys and girls club. I personally shop there, keeping my eyes open for a good deal. For example, the pair of jeans that I am wearing today was purchased from this store just a few months ago. I paid only $8.00 for this pair of Lucky Jeans and according to buckle.com, a retailer for lucky jeans the retail price is $99.00 that is a savings to me of $91.00.I am not the type to worry about name brands, but quality usually does cost more. If I can get a quality pair of jeans at a fraction on the price, I am glad to shop at the thrift store. I am thankful to the person that made the donation of the lucky jeans and they can benefit from that donation. According to the IRS webpage, IRS. Gov it explains that an individual can donate items like clothing, household furniture and furnishings, a car or boat, even taxidermy. The donations are appraised, by the donator, and recorded. At the time of filing taxes if the donation equals at least $500 for the year, the donator may take advantage of the
Driving in general can be hazardous. Driving and having such a distraction as a cell phone at ear, or ringing somewhere in a car, is ten times more dangerous. Not surprisingly, drivers who use a cell phone while driving perceive cell phone use by others as less of a threat to their safety as do non-users. A huge number of accidents caused by talking on a cell phone. During the last 5 years texting has become insanely popular. It’s a great and convenient tool because people don’t have to call person to just say ‘ok’ on that dinner invitation. The worst part is that many people still think that texting while driving just that ‘ok’ is ok. Unfortunately, even with traffic police enforcing those ‘no cellphone’ laws, individuals still neglect those simple safety concerns. People need to start understanding themselves how dangerous it is.
