It's funny that back in the day, there was no such thing as a Pokémon Trainer, let alone any laws that made the way Pokémon what it is now, like: "I will never abuse or hurt my Pokémon. I shall protect it from harm, and feed it as needed. I will release them if they will, and capture it through fair methods. I will never kill or maim my Pokémon, and will be responsible."

There are no gym leaders, no Elite Four, no Champion; not even a Pokémon Center, especially when the creatures were simply called "monsters" rather than "pocket monsters" for justifiable reasons that the distinctive capsule didn't exist in this time period until later.

But I'm getting off track here. Ahem. Now, let's all go back to a time period where all of these things that I said apply, but with a touch of jazz, ranching, grassy plains, and of course, the ubiquitous Pokémon.

And he continued on this monotony until one afternoon, where they heard the whir and silence of an engine.

"I don't think they breed eevees here, Mary Anne." the father said to his daughter as the couple stormed along with her into the fenced area.

"But, dad, I just swore I saw an evolution running around here!" she huffed before spotting Espeon. "Like that!" she pointed at her.

He sighed. "And I'm pretty sure that this boy here will not sell-" The man gasped as he gave the rancher a good stare. "Wait... Is that really you?"

"Hello, Luke." the rancher greeted.

"Oh, hey there! So, how's the new job doing for you?"

"Pretty boring, but at least I'm not being chased by rabid hounds and disgruntled subscribers..."

Luke cleared out his throat. "Yeah..." he murmured as he looked away, for a moment, before reverting back to his optimistic self. "Well, the good news is that The Golden Sun is doing better after we-"

"Save the reunion for later, please, Luke?" his wife interrupted him as she approached the boy.

"Rancher, can you please send us to the owner of this place?" and he complied, herding them to his new boss, taking an eyeful of the grazing livestock with apple cider on
