Phi Delta Chi Research Paper

On January 13, 1999, a girl named Hae Min Lee disappeared. She was a senior at Woodlawn High School in Baltimore County in Maryland. Born in South Korea, Hae Min Lee migrated to the United States along with her mother and brother to live with her grandparents. She played field hockey and lacrosse. At age 18, Hae Min Lee was reported missing by her family after she was supposed to pick up her little cousin from kindergarten around 3:15 PM and drop her home, but she never showed up. Weeks later on February 1, an anonymous call was made to the Baltimore County Police suggesting that Adnan Syed, Hae’s ex-boyfriend was responsible for her death. The investigation showed that although Lee had been dating Syed for the past year, they had recently broken up. Furthering

Colleges and universities admitted few women students in the 1870s; some administrators and faculty members argued women had inferior minds and could not master mathematics and the classics. Regardless, Dr. Erastus Otis Haven, Syracuse University chancellor and former president of the University of Michigan and Northwestern University maintained that women should receive the advantages of higher education and enrolled his daughter, Frances, at Syracuse.

This is something that I, and certainly all of you, feel very strongly about. I would be thrilled to have the opportunity to help lead this fraternity, and especially in furthering our core values and specific expertise. Joining Delta Sigma Pi has been the best decision I have made since being here at Longwood.

Every member understands their duties as Ivy League black male and how to use their status to better the situation of others. I chose to pursue Alpha because they exhibit the true meaning of brotherhood and thrive in every endeavor they make. As I continue to learn more and more about the organization, I find other reasons why I want to be a member. They are always giving one hundred percent to everything that they do. As I sought out to become a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. I saw that the organization matches my personality and what I stand for. My true passion is to make a difference in this world, I desire to make a significant impact on the lives of the youths to inspire them to reach their full potential. I know that Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity was established to accomplish the same things that I do, this is one of the many reasons I aspire to join this great fraternity.

I’m currently seeking membership in Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated, for brotherhood and a friendship, with successful leaders who strive to compel an impact in their communities. Through all my interactions and meeting with members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, the features that stood out to me the most that made me personally want to become a member were the friendship they held with each other, and those of similar characteristics. The fact that they were willing to help other men continue to grow and better themselves in any way they could. The men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated that I have met, have pushed myself to become a better man and friend. These bonds have added a value to my life that I am forever grateful for.

Never in a million years did I plan on joining Greek life in college. When I got to school I quickly decided that I wanted to be more involved and help make a difference in people’s lives. I decided to rush a sorority which happened to be Delta Gamma. Delta Gamma has provided me with so many wonderful opportunities to make a difference. When the Whited family reached out to our chapter here at IUP I knew this would be something I would remember doing for years to come. The Whited family came to one of our chapter meetings and we got to meet little Lochlan who touched all of our hearts. I have had so many wonderful opportunities from this organization already and have received such great experience by joining

It is a great honor to be among the commendable students who are being considered for the National Honor Society. The National Honor Society is discernible for showing an interest in students with exemplary grades, great character, leadership, and service. Last year I was enrolled in a tenth grade honors language class, this year I am taking an advanced placement college course. I am enlisted in all honors classes and I strive to do the best that I can not only academically, but in all activities I participate in. I am a strenuous worker and have great character. Everything I try, I give all my effort, for example, in track I show good sportsmanship and cheer on my fellow athletes at every meet. I also show great leadership qualities.

The Beta Sigma Arts & Crafts show is a great, close to home event that is there for the people to discover unique, one of a kind creations made from different people from different vendors. This event took place on Saturday, September 10th from 9:00 AM- 6:00 PM and on Sunday, September 11th from 10:00 AM- 4:00 PM.IMG_3516[1].JPG

Miss Ruiz de Castilla has been a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority since the beginning of fall 2015 and is currently in History Club and Turning Point.

Sydney Isaac is in the spring 2015 Alpha Omicron class of Phi Sigma Pi. Her big is Stanley Edwards, who is in the Alpha Xi class of Phi Sigma Pi, and her little is Aungelique Hanna who is in the Alpha Rho class of Phi Sigma Pi. Sydney was born on September 11th, 1995. She was born and grew up in Augusta Georgia where she attended and graduated from Augusta Prep. Sydney is the oldest of two brothers ages nineteen and thirteen and one sister who is ten years old. In her family Sydney admires her Father the mot because he has every characteristic she hopes to find in a husband, he is her best friend and she is able to tell him everything. Sydney is most inspired by her sister because although she has cerebral palsy she does not let it define who

Though the world has advanced in science, technology, and cultural advances through literature, music, and philosophy, some bad have lasted throughout the centuries. Violence and addiction are still present in today’s society. Whether in the area of what was labelled “Chi-raq”, where gang violence is reaching highs in homicides, or across the country, where unemployment and job insecurity have made suicides and drug abuse among white middle age men the highest it has ever been. Despite being what could be called modern problems, the Bible has many verses that could help or give spiritual advice to these people struggling in the world today.

I’m from the infamous Chicago, IL which has many nicknames like chi-city, windy city and chi-raq etc. I don’t live in the area of Chicago where all the tourist go and take pictures and stay in fancy hotels. I live in Washington Heights/West Pullman which is located right on the border of the Morgan Park and Beverly area on the South Side. Even though I live so close to these nice and historic areas, the differences are very clear. I wouldn’t consider my neighborhood the hood, but it has its “hood” aspects. During the nights I do hear gunshots and see gang's all around, but a lot of the people who live here in my neighborhood are nice working class people. My neighborhood is different from what you would think it would be like. I don’t hear gun shoots everyday I lay my head down to go to sleep and I can walk to the Corner store

Chikk is a multi-platinum singer-songwriter. She has garnered international praise, earning many songwriting credits, which include a cut by Rihanna; credits for Jennifer Hudson, Jordan Sparks, and Asian chart-topping sensation, Girls Generation.

I feel that being apart of the organization will help cultivate my future. Zeta Phi Beta’s Principle finer womanhood is something that really stood out to be. I always pride myself on being a good woman and having a standard so I like that this organization has that principle. Being a zeta will help teach me more business savvy skills as well as how to network with women of all ages.
