As postmodern educators feel their way through an ever changing multicultural classroom environment, it is imperative that each hold firmly to their philosophical positions and do not let society influence them in a negative way. At the same time all teachers should be continually reflecting inwardly to make oneself accountable to their profession.
Teachers have a great responsibility to see that every child in their care receive and education based on truth. This only can be achieved by understanding that absolute truth exists. Science is simply the pursuit of knowledge, the study of what we know, and the quest to know more. Therefore, all scientific studies must by necessity be founded upon the belief that there are objective realities existing in the world and these realities may be discovered and proven. Without absolutes, what would there be to study? How may one know that the findings of science are real? In fact, the very laws of science are founded on the existence of absolute truth. (The Bible Has Answers, 2002, p. 1). Mankind seeks God, hopes for the future, and answers to their deepest questions. Religion itself is a good testimony for absolute truth. It is really evidence that mankind is more than just a highly evolved animal. It is evidence of a higher purpose and of the existence of a personal and purposeful Creator who implanted in the hearts of mankind the desire to know Him. He becomes the standard for absolute truth, and it is His authority that establishes that truth. (The Bible Has Answers, 2002). What needs to be taught in the classroom is absolute truth. It should be taught with zealousness for the achievement of the great commission Matthew 28:19-20: “therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

I believe that education is an individual, unique experience for every student who enters a classroom. In order for children to benefit from what schools offer, I think that teachers must fully understand the importance of their job. First, I believe that teachers must consider teaching to be a lifestyle, not a mere forty-hour-a-week job, because a teacher's goals for his/her students encompass much more than relaying out-of-context facts to passive students. As professionals entrusted with the education of young minds, teachers must facilitate learning and growth academically, personally, and ethically. By providing a quality education to each individual in one's classroom, a teacher equips children
Rita Pierson, an American educator, once stated, “Every child deserves a champion, an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be” (“Every Kid,” 2013). Her comment is reflected within my philosophy of teaching. One’s philosophy of education defines who they strive to be as an educator; it clearly forms the way one will teach and guides their expectations for their students. Children are the future of our country. Therefore, I believe it is the responsibility of a teacher to strive to be the best educator possible by having cultural competence and pedagogical knowledge to effectively teach their students. This can be done by motivating students to learn through self-discovery based on their interests and what is relevant to their lives. It is a teacher’s responsibility to guide students towards their own goals to grow intellectually and personally as a unique individual. Accordingly, students will be inspired to use acquired skills and knowledge towards the real world.

FIVE YEAR EDUCATION/CAREER GOALS? My five year plan is to become an assistant principal within my county. I want to impact my county with a positive influence, with a direction that is clear and where teachers and students can succeed.
I believe that each child is born with a gift. The more educated our children are today, the brighter and richer our culture will be in the future. Education is a necessity; it is not a privilege. My goal as an educator is to help students find their element and harness their skills to the fullest potential. They are the future of our society. Every child is born with the hunger to learn. As an educator, I will make sure that my students are in a safe learning environment. I will teach my students the necessary tools that they will need to learn how to be successful in their lives. Since I was a child I always believed that love and respect are two of the most important things that people will need to learn. I think that with the power of love and respect you can make a big difference in other people's lives.
One of the most privileged professions in the world today is teaching. Teachers can influence the youth of a culture in a way no one else can. Teachers have the honorable responsibility of education. Students develop mentally, socially, and ethically within the realm of academic education. While in this critical stage of development, students are given the laboratory of the classroom to test themselves in ways that are more risky after graduation. Teachers play a crucial role in this laboratory. I believe that the most important way I can serve my students while fulfilling this role is to have positive expectations, to continually reflect on my teaching habits and performance, and to use literature as a way
Historically, many teachers took courses in multicultural education that was aimed at teaching preservice teachers about diversity in the classroom. However these courses did not have an impact on the teaching practices of pre-service teachers as they entered schools and classrooms. Furthermore teachers were asked to reconsider their own assumptions and work towards a better understanding of values and practices of cultures different than their own. It was through this type of reflective activity of their own beliefs compared to others could they begin to construct practices that aimed at making diversity apart of the curriculum. One goal of multicultural education was to shed light on oppression and social inequality based on race, social class, gender and disability.
My purpose of getting any education was to learn all that I can learn and to be a productive citizen in today's society. My purpose of getting an education and pursuing a degree in elementary education is to have an impact on many students' futures, change students' lives, and to help students to believe in themselves. I will do this by believing in my students and pushing them to achieve their goals. As a teacher, I understand that politics and geographic zones have a big influence on what schools are supplied with, and they can have an impact on the education that a student gets. As a teacher, I will not let these things get in the way of providing my students with a quality education, and I will not let these things hinder what my students learn.
I feel that education is an important aspect in a person’s life. My philosophy regarding education is that all children are unique and need a stimulating educational environment where they can develop and grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. Every child deserves to obtain the best education possible, regardless of special needs. I believe that I owe it to my students, as well as the community, to bring inclusion, consistency, attentiveness, and warmth to my job with the hope that I can encourage and inspire such traits in the students as well.
Education is inevitable. It is all around us because we can learn from virtually anything. When you are cooking, dancing, talking or any other activity you have actually had to learn several things to be able to do them. In the educational perspective, I am a pragmatist and I tend to follow after Dewey's footsteps. The concept of Pragmatism is one that developed in the 20th century. My philosophy is based on the idea that learning should involve real-life situations. Learning becomes more concrete to a student when they apply it to real-life situations, as where learning things that do not connect to them has more of an abstract sense. I began my college education in 1987. I attended two full years and one part-time year before accepting a position with an engineering firm in 1992. I was employed there for the next nine years and was promoted three times. Even though this was a good stable career, I was not satisfied. I have always wanted to be a teacher. I never gave up hope and continued to take a class when I could. In the fall of 2001, I had the opportunity to work part-time and finish my degree. I am so excited to achieve my lifetime goal of becoming an educator.
My philosophy of education has evolved from working with students and different educational programs. In order to have a philosophy on education, the term education should be defined. Education is a process that involves reasoning and synthesizing new concepts and information. Education does not take place in confined boundaries. Education should be a continual growth process. For the purposes of this essay, the primary focus will be on my philosophy of education within the framework of the school systems.
In order for a society to function, individuals must be productive members of that society. This is accomplished through education. The philosophy of education is determined by society. As society changes so does the concept of education.
Is there an ideal educational model and how do education students shift through the wealth of knowledge presented and form their own priorities in which to use to shape our future students? All of the educational philosophical insights are stepping stones to examine mindfully and ponder what we will hold as values as teachers. As a future educator, I am strongly convicted to want to focus on each individual student and help him or her to reach his or her full potential both as a student and as a member of society.
