Being only five years old with no ability to form complete words yet, Michael’s hums are his own language and create a way to understand him. This quiet world that Michael lives in intrigued me. Michaels mother, Kathrynne, would always remind me that I did not have to watch him if I felt he was “too mentally exhausting”. Michael was challenging at times, but he was not, “mentally exhausting”, he was mentally stimulating. I was constantly determined to figure him out and maintain his humming. Michael allowed me to realize that I wanted to do more than just make people comfortable, I wanted to create a plan and be involved in unraveling it. That soft, steady, continuous sound Michael makes, his humming, is what has inspired me to pursue my career as a Physician Assistant. I want to create that hum, that serenity, within others that need it. I entered college as a biology major, and I was eager to do more than just learn because of Michael, I wanted to positively influence people. I began to devote my time to tutoring biology and finding ways that I could instill confidence in students, inside and out of the classroom. I further chose to become a Level II Certified Tutor in which I underwent workshops to advance my knowledge of how to create a trusting connection to each unique …show more content…
I was impassioned with the way she went above and beyond for patients, ensuring each patient had the upmost quality of care. Corrine always created a personal connection, both emotionally and medically with each patient and worked autonomously and collaboratively as a team with the Physician to provide care for the patient. Corrine also assists in surgery, which is enticed me because of how versatile and flexible a PA can be. As a PA I understand and would implement the importance of being able to work with others to reach a unified goal, the
I want to be a part of Keiser University's Physician Assistant Program because it is one of the best in South Florida. I agree with its mission statements and goals. This 24-month curriculum will allow me to reach my goal of pursuing my career as a Physician Assistant, sooner than most programs. It is centrally located so that most students have a minimum commute of 15-20 minutes. I am impressed by Keiser's excellent reputation of job placement among graduating PA students. According to present students, this school has a low professor to student ratio. I am eager to participate in this type of learning environment. Also, I am happy to see that the PANCE rate has been improving as the program strives to prepare students for the national certification
I am drawn to the PAs ability to not only treat and diagnose independently but to work in a team environment. I relish the idea of working alongside nurses and physicians in choosing the best path of treatment for my patients. I am also attracted to the flexibility of the PA program, which will allow me to change specialties if I desire. Being a team player and having a passion for medicine, I have concluded that a career in the health care field, and more specifically as a physician assistant, is the right path for
As an acute care nurse practitioner I hope to utilize my experience as an Intensive Care Unit nurse along with clinical knowledge and skills acquired through a graduate level program to provide the highest quality patient care. In my current role, I place high value on patient-family centered care and advocacy as well as commitment to lifelong learning. I have built my nursing career upon these values. I am excited to begin the journey of becoming an acute care nurse practitioner and to further my education and expand my scope of practice in the field of critical care, for which I have already developed a passion.
Being a nurse not only means compassion, dedication, and intelligence, but the profession also requires endurance, personal sacrifice, and the need for continuous education. I have learned that nurses are some of the most caring and selfless people that anyone will ever meet. Nurses are more than willing to complete challenging tasks and care for others in a way that the majority of people are unwilling to. I am driven to bring all of these qualities into my role as a future nurse practitioner, which is why I am committed to pursuing my Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP).
It is a fact that we have a longer life expectancy than ever before. This has been achieved through years of thorough research, technological development, and most importantly resilient individuals. Doctors are constantly faced with different enigmas with no right or wrong answer. What first attracted me toward medicine was the desire to help and support, in particular, disadvantaged people. Coming from a country with an underdeveloped health care system has made me realised the impact it has on people’s life.
1. There are many attributes that I have that are much more indicative of my potential than my SAT scores. To begin, I am a dedicated student-athlete who also takes AP classes in all of my core courses. In field hockey, I was a four-year starter, First Team All-Conference for three years, Second Team All-State, and in my senior year I was voted captain by my teammates; to add, I am doing all of this while taking AP classes. This shows that even though my scores for a single standardized test were not as high as I would have liked.
When I became a nurse I knew I wanted to work in medicine dealing with patients suffering with chronic illness; I suffer from my own chronic illness known as Beta Sickle Thalassemia. Throughout the years my interaction with the Nurse practitioner in my Hematology/ Oncology has been enlightening. It has allowed me to see how I can be the driving force and a change agent for patients that suffer from chronic illness just like my own. For as long as I can remember I have always had a natural compassion for anyone in pain or discomfort whether physically or mentally. This empathy and compassion has trickled into the care I provide for my own patients and allows me to provide the best patient centered care I possibly can.
I have always had a strong passion for the sciences. They were always my favorite classes and I enjoyed putting in the hard work to master them. I did well in math and business courses too, however I never felt excited about the material I was studying. My favorite areas in science have been biology, anatomy, and physiology of the human body. Each time I learn something new, I continue to be amazed by the complexity and precision of the human body.
My grandmother was a devoted woman. She was deprived of schooling and her basic rights as many Middle Eastern women in her era and, therefore, could not read or write. But she ensured to provide the support her family needed. Yes, my grandmother was not educated, but that did not prevent her from developing other skills. What she lacked in education made up for in skills.

The desire to practice kindness in a professional setting has started growing in me from a young age. It is the main motivation behind my application for an admission to the Physical Therapy Assistant Program. The growth in my interest to pursue that career can be attributed to experiences that I gained as a volunteer, PT aide, and as a research student. My career objective is to become a Physical Therapist Assistant to help people live a pain-free life.
1. I hereby express my intent to compete for consideration into the Interservice Physician Assistant Program. I graduated from University of Ghana with a combined major in Information Science and Sociology and an overall GPA of 3.2. I am also currently enrolled in Organic Chemistry I w/lab and Genetics to improve my science GPA of 3.6. I will complete these classes well in advance before the program start.
Ever since the age of 4, I was exposed to the hospital environment and, that sometime in the future I would enamor to acquire a position in the health profession because I have the desire to accompany others who nurture and are considerate for aiding people. I’m in infatuated with aiding people or serving them because I’ve received help from others, and that’s why I was interested in the medical field. The medical field has various occupations that are interesting to me, but I would want to be a surgeon due to its role in the healthcare industry. I enrolled in primary science classes such as biology pre-ap, anatomy and physiology, health science theory, and forensics science, which establishes somewhat of the foundation for the medical field
I was very excited to find a listing for a Computer Science Lab Assistant. I am confident that I would be a great addition to your team. I have great organization, communication, and collaboration skills to aid in the function of the store. I am a quick learner and I can adapt to situations efficiently and creatively.
Humankind has always had a technophilic mind, it is what has allowed us to evolve into the sentient beings that we are today. Our path through time has been coupled with that of technology’s; as we evolve, technology evolves with us. Due to our entwined existence, technology has a rightful place in every aspect of modern human life. It is ubiquitous, constantly assisting us in our ever task, from the apparent use of a cellular phone, to the glasses or contact lenses that myriads of people use to see every day. In the workplace, technology continues to have an everlasting and continuous impact on the way humans can work, there is no field that is functional without the use of technology.
