On 07/13/17, at 6:28pm I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched to 5031 Chatterton Road on a dog at large, no known owner. I arrived at the location and an unknown male individual had possession of a grey and white pit bull. I took possession of the pit bull and placed her in my vehicle. The pit bull had no identifying markers indicating ownership. As I was processing the pit bull, Samba Diallo approached me and stated the pit bull attacked his son Aliou Diallo. I spoke to Mr. Diallo and his son. Aliou stated that the pit bull jumped out of a vehicle (red and black Sports Utility Vehicle) parked in the parking lot and chased him. The pit bull caused him to fall to the ground. The pit bull scratched Aliou on his right ankle and a
Are Pit-Bulls an overly vicious breed or are they just misunderstood by today's American society?
2. They were also the preferred “guard dog” for big time drug dealers and gangs.
Whether you like it or not, labels matter -- even if you're a dog, especially if that dog is a pit bull. http://www.care2.com/causes/heres-what-pit-bulls-are-really-bred-to-do.html This breed knows a thing or two about labels; the pit bull went from America's darling dog to one of the most feared http://www.dontbullymybreed.org/index.php/information/resources/pit-bulls-a-history (and misunderstood) dogs today. And new research from Arizona State University published in PLOS ONE shows just how detrimental the pit bull label can be.
Come on an adventure and learn the good side of pit bulls.Pit bulls should be allowed as pets. People who have lived with or around pit bulls know they are amazing. Pit bulls are very honored in the United States.
Do you think all dogs should have the freedom people do? Pit bulls should be allowed in Independence MO. Pit Bulls should have the freedom to live there lives in peace not being penalized for the way the owner treats the dog. Pit bulls are very sweet dogs it just depends on the owner.
Inherently dangerous, fight dogs, or vicious are just a few words that come to most people's minds when they see or hear the word Pit bull. Pit bulls are feared because of their past reputation as fight dogs and this has led to the banning of Pit bulls in many counties and cities across the United States. However, I have had the honor of owning a Pit bull as well as knowing many great Pit bulls a Pit bull owners over the years, and what my experience shows is that it's not the breed, but the owner that determines the dog's behavioral outcome, it also shows that Pit bulls are extremely loyal and protective of their owners, and that they are great with people especially kids.
There is no evidence to prove that Pit Bulls have unique jaws or any lethal “lockjaw”. The “lockjaw” method is learned through training, it is not a special killing tool, and once again the owner creates this issue for the breed. Pit Bulls are
American Staffordshire Terriers (Am Staffs) and American Pit Bull Terriers (APBTs) are the most commonly known dogs for their assumed vicious personality. Am Staffs/APBT’s are also more likely to be referred to as pit bulls when being discussed. Pit bull is a name that was created to address the more general breeds of dogs that have similar looks and characteristics. The people who already have a strong dislike for pit bulls will automatically imagine a vicious, volatile, and unfriendly animal. The popular thought for pit bulls is that they were born killers and should not be considered a dog for someone's home life. However, a number of studies have proven those assumptions false. In fact, pit bulls can be just as people-friendly,
There are many different qualities to consider when choosing a dog. Pit Bulls have all the qualities needed to become a great companion. Although, if you treat them wrong when they're growing up there is a good chance they will get out of control. If you raise them right you will have one of the best dogs ever. For example my friend had a Pit Bull that he would hit for no reason and one-day the dog attacked him and hurt him pretty bad. This is a good example of why you should treat your dog right. From my experience raising a Pit Bull I have come to believe they are the best bread of dog. As with any dog you need to raise and treat them right. Naturally they are loyal, smart,
On 04/29/16 at 6:21pm, I was dispatched to an injury- possible dangerous or vicious dog animal at large. I arrived at 283 S. Skidmore St, talk to dog owner Mark Capehart. Mr. Capehart advised me that two kids came to his house and knocked on his door. His daughter answered the door, as she was talking to the kids; their dog charged pass her and bite victim 1 Kamora Stidoms and victim 2 Jahquez Lonzy. Both kids ran from the house. Kamora Stidoms was taken to Nationwide Children Hospital for her bite wounds. Jahquez Lonzy had minor injuries which did not require him to go to the hospital. I spoke to Kamora Stidoms and her mother, Vanilla Hunt, who wrote out a victim statement for her daughter due to her being a minor. Kamora Stidoms has a small puncture wound on the back of her left arm and scratches on the upper section of her arm.
Owning a pit bull in today’s day and age has one of two reactions: Either the person loves them or is terrified of them. There are so many myths about Pit Bulls and they are just that. Myths. Some of the myths that surround pit bulls are that they have “lock jaw” and they have a killer instinct that does not stop at just killing other animals. Pit bull advocates, such as myself, know that Pit Bulls have always been known as the “nanny dog” throughout history because of how much they love children and their loyalty to their families. Mean or vicious dogs come from ignorant, irresponsible owners. The bottom line is that not all pit bulls are bad.
Do you believe that people should be allowed to own pit-bull dogs. Many people do, although some don't. So should people be allowed to keep pit-bulls as a pet? In my opinion, whoever wants to own one, I believe that they should.
Research into Colorado’s breed specific legislation has revealed two clear view points on the effectiveness and appropriateness of this law. I have found shocking and extreme bias in both parties’ claims, and as such, I have delved deeper and more fervently into the effects of the law itself. While I hold my own biased opinion I feel that both sides have points that are valid and should be taken into consideration. I disagree wholeheartedly with banning a breed of any animal, however I can happily admit to the need for behavioral training for both dogs and owners.
People say pit-bull dogs are dangerous and that they are monsters, but reality humans are the real danger and monsters here. The owners should be at fault here not the breed of dogs; the breed, owner’s have raised them to be mean, but underneath all of the meanness the breed’s are great dogs to have. Humans have always been the real monster here, but no one sees it like that. The society sees that the breed fight other breeds and attack humans, but never put fault on the owner who rise the pit-bull. Their owners out there who trained their dog to kill and to hurt other breeds, but just because of their idiotic move do we have to look down on pit-bulls like that; no, people should look down on the person who made them like that.
I have a puppy named Buster; he is a brindle pitbull. Buster is the love of my life and he’s my little baby. Maybe, I didn’t give birth to him but he is in my care now and I will not let anything happen to him. I remember the first day I got him; it was a sunny day in July. I was down in dumps because the night before my house got broken into and the people who did it lived across the street from us. I was hysterical about the break in and when I went to work the next day I barely talked and kept to myself. My manager Danielle clearly knew there was something wrong because she overheard me talking to Justin at work about the break in. Danielle told me I could keep my phone on me and she sent me home early so I could be with my family. I didn’t
