Establishing and maintaining a strict schedule where I can nurture my academic needs is essential to the successful completion of my chosen degree in Information Technology.
Creating a workable, yet demanding schedule is essential because every day I am faced with circumstances that could potentially interrupt my education indefinitely if I allow them to. Being almost six months pregnant puts a lot of strain on me as a student. There are days I feel completely exhausted and as if my mind has been wiped clean. Reminding myself that I have to fill the timeslots I assigned each day for school work keeps me focused. By the end of the week I’ve met my own short-term goal which consequently, fulfills my long-term goals as well.
It is crucial to set and acknowledge goals to progress from course to course without feeling overwhelmed and discouraged. Setting goals is productive for me because it defines the responsibilities at hand. As I move through, conquering small goal after small goal, the larger goals previously established will be met and a sense of accomplishment will be enjoyed.
Throughout this course a primary focus has been familiarizing myself with individual learning styles. After completing the Ethical Lens Inventory I discovered my preferred style was the Results Lens. Specifically this means that to obtain desired results I tend to
My main goals to assure my academic success in my first semester in college are achieving a 3.0 GPA and prioritizing my school work before anything else. To begin with, making sure to attend all my classes is important because it allows me to be able to learn the material from my professor as well as being able to ask questions to anything I do not understand. Secondly, making sure to complete all my work for every class including work that does not count as credit. Completing all the work assigned to me will enable me to practice the material and maximize my knowledge on the topic. Studying for all my class will further my understandings of the material and better prepare myself for quizzes or exams. Other small goals are limiting my time
Setting goals are the most important thing you can do in your life. Without goals you are going to have no direction, no ambition to be successful, no drive to stay in school, and you would have trouble finding a career that will provide for you. When planning for success you must make good choices on the path you are going to choose. The wrong path will put you somewhere that is going to take you off track of your goals. For example, it can lead you to get lazy, partying too much and skipping school. You must stay on top of schoolwork and not fall behind. Now that you understand what a goal is, you might be wondering what the different types of goals
Over the semesters I have come to realize that a rigid schedule is required for juggling be-tween work, classes, and study time or any social activities. There are some days that leave
When setting goals, you need to prepare the steps you’re going to take. You should start by setting SMART goals. According to an article on Mind Tools written by the mind tools content team titled Golden rules of goal setting SMART goals means “Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time Bound.” Remembering this is a great way to manage your goals. O In addition, setting goals is essential so that you have something to look forward to and keep you occupied. Having goals makes you think about ways you want to get to them and that gives you a bit of motivation. According to an article on Personal Excellence written by Celestine Chua titled 7 Important Reasons Why You Should Set Goals it states, “As Bill Copeland says, when you don’t set goals, you can spend your whole life running up and down and not achieve anything.” Not setting goals can leave you clueless and you can be stuck not
1) to achieve academic success by working hard and graduating next year from WITC. I plan to work hard, study hard, and, in doing so, strive to get a GPA of 3.4 or higher.
Continued Academic Success can be defined regarding educational goals an individual set for themselves. Educational goals include the understanding of one’s personal learning style and knowing how that particular style can help you be successful as they move through their academic program. This application applies not only to academic success but also to current and future career fields. Success in one area can lead to success in another.
Goal setting is a major part of everyone's life because it gives people something to strive for in their everyday life. Take continuing your education as one of your main goals; that is the first little goal to reach your overall goal. Everyone should try to have a ton of little goals to reach that one huge desired goal in life. Whether it be continuing your education or even just to succeed in whatever a person is doing in their life. The results may vary maybe even the time frame of the goals one is trying to reach may be longer than others.
Coming to the U.S, I had the opportunity that my parents and most people could only dream of. I had the opportunity to pursue and further my education in one of the greatest countries in the world. The U.S. Henceforth, coming at the age of nine, I had planned and knew what I wanted to do as soon as I arrived. I wanted to become a lawyer, a Law Enforcement Officer with the FBI, and join the U.S. Marines. But most importantly, I want to open my own Non- Profit Organization whose aim would be to help individuals who are homeless, living in third- world countries, and to provide those individuals with educational opportunities to help them advance their future. In able to achieve these goals of mine, academically, I hope to participate in clubs such as Debate, Student Government, possibly double major in either Political
•I will not let work or anything else interfere with my academic life at Clark by setting a specific schedule for myself on a daily basis.
The common pattern that I found in my time management log was the inconsistency of the activities during my days. This did not surprise me. Each day was an up in the air type of day, which also included a lot of sleeping. My explanation for this inconsistency is that I suffer from Chronic Lyme Disease. Unfortunately, I am affected by many different symptoms that I can not be entirely controlled. Normally, I have my days planned out ahead of time and run off a schedule, but being sick really hinders my ability to do that. There are days where I can function normally and sleep just a little bit, but there also are days where I am so sick that doing anything is impossible. This is the reason why I decided to take an online course. A flexible schedule
There is an essential goal in my life to complete a non-traditional degree that will require 20-25 hour per week of time committed. I began by creating an effective time management, schedule to accommodate personal, school, and professional obligations.
Knowing how to effectively set goals is the key ingredient here. Effective goal setting allows you to transform your life, if you choose to. If you take a look around where you are, you will see what goal setting has done for man.
Having goals set is important because it give you a guide to what you need to do in order to be successful. To get the most out of your goals, they must be specific and measurable. Your goals should be difficult, yet attainable because if you set easier goals, you wouldn’t get anywhere in terms of improving your performance. The goals you set for yourself should also have deadlines.
Enrolling for college was a huge step for me personally. I will be writing about my goals that I want to achieve, and the way I will be achieving them. By writing out my plan for college success, I will be able to look at it periodically and refresh what my goals and motivation are for graduating at Columbia Southern University.
Time management is everything for me and without it I would be a complete mess. On the hard nights, it is struggle to stay awake at night as I do my homework but realize that this will benefit me by preparing me for college. When I was transitioning over from 10th to 11th grade I was offered several options as far as classes varying from the most rigorous schedule offered at my school to a path of less resistance. The most challenging classes in my school are within the International Baccalaureate program or IB for short. Many doubts clouded my thoughts at first as I started to believe that it might not be possible for me due to my schedule. At the same time many of peers believed that I didn't need to do it because of my sport and that also took a toll on me. When it came time for me to decide I began to remember all the days I stayed up doing projects and papers knowing that I would have to wake up early the next day. I knew that not continuing to challenge myself academically would only hurt me in the long run and so I was determined to prove my peers and my own doubts
