Websites Poor and Good Quality Introduction In researching the quality of numerous websites I have found that there are some bad and some good which I will discuss within this report. The that I feel are bad quality would be the Suzanne Collins books, Penny Juice, and Blinkee. The good quality would be the Kind snacks, 4 Rivers Smokehouse, and Cobb Pediatric Therapy Services. In each website of choice, I really looked at what makes it bad and what makes it so good. I will explain my research of each choice and what my thoughts are about them as well as some incite on what improvements it may or may not need. Poor Quality Websites The first poor-quality website that I chose is the Suzanne Collins books. Almost everyone knows this author …show more content…
At the middle top of the page you will see a stand that looks like something you did when you were kid to sell lemon aide. You should choose what you want to do then you see more color on the next page. All the colors made my eyes hurt. I did not go any further because I bet it gets worse. You want a user to come to your website and buy but with this website I just want to run away. http://www.pennyjuice.com/ The last poor-quality website that I chose is Blinkee. Just the word blinkee should scare you right. I did go and check out their new page and it is better but to me it needs more improvements. To me there is no reason to have any blinking words, especially the website. Even though the blinking is not getting to me as bad as before it is still a little distracting. They improved the categories by putting them on the left where you can see them and choose what you want. The purple and the pink at the bottom corner is very distracting to me. The first site I found for this was so bad because almost everything was blinking. I do not like the idea of the black background and I wish it was a more settling color. I do like that the idea of the icons at the top right so people can see them on Facebook and other sites. Below is a picture of what it looked like before and you can it really needed more improvement. The improvement they made does look better but I still think they can do a little better in my opinion.
Overall, the website was very accessible and easy to navigate. The home page included tabs at the top labeled Health Topics, Data, and Media Centre to name a few. These tabs are helpful for the reader to find what they are looking for and may lead them to explore other topics that they weren’t necessarily looking for also. There is a convenient button along this row of tabs that looks like a house. This tab brings the navigator right back to this home page if they get too far into a certain tab and want to go back to the beginning.
The design of the website is very unique and elegant. For a new user, it’s a little overwhelming at first but after 10 minutes of use it becomes second nature.
The website I have chosen for evaluation is “Blue Letter Bible” and its URL is: (http://www.blueletterbible.org/help/videoHelps.cfm#section2). The main reason which gets my attention towards this particular website is its powerful tools which are helpful for complete and comprehensive study of the Bible. Since, I have not study the Bible in my life before this course. So, I need a website which is comprehensive as well as easy to understand. I found this site very helpful for beginner. So, in the beginning of my journey of Bible studies translation and understanding of the bible parable has intrigued me a lot. The website is more or less a short library having all the basic information and resources related to Bible. The website has five main sections as: Quick Start Guide, Essential- the Bible, Essentials- Word Searching, Customization, Advanced BLB. The website was started in 1995 with the King James Version, online commentaries, followed by audio sermons along with other versions of Bible. Until 2011, BLB is able to deliver almost 680,000 content pages for public use. The founder of the project is a renowned person Don Stewart, a Pentecostal minister along with a purported faith healer. Along with plethora of blogs and articles, Don Stewart has written 20 books as well. The associations controlled by Don are “Feed my People”, “Miracle life Fellowship International” and Northern Arizona Food Bank.
Caveat lector is a Latin phrase meaning, “let the reader beware.” Health information on the internet is growing at an alarming rate. However, some information on the internet is not accurate or current, and unfortunately, many web sites regarding healthcare offer misleading, incomplete, and incorrect information. Many consumers do not have the knowledge to judge and evaluate the quality of online information. This paper aims to discuss how the website WebMD presents information to readers. It will evaluate WebMD according to its source, where was the source obtained; type of funding, is it commercially funded or private; the validity and quality, how valid is the information and can it be verified; and privacy, is your personal information
The validity of the information on a website is indicated by the reliability of the information sources and developers, as well as the reliability and expertise of the information reviewers ("Evaluating internet health,”). Claims made by the information should be unbiased and based on fact, not opinion.

The objective of this study is to identify and evaluate a health-related website within the domain indicated as heart.org or heart.gov. This study will provide empirical evidence to support the website as a credible source for inclusion in a scholarly assignment.
In this paper, I have chosen a health-related website and evaluated its credibility. The search engine used to locate the domain, mayoclinic.org, was Google. The specific web address is http://mayoclinic.org. Mayo Clinic is a healthcare organization centered on patient care. It offers locations in Arizona, Florida, and Minnesota. Mayoclinic.org is a website based from the organization, Mayo Clinic, which offers a wealth of health-related information on medicine, occupational health, health promotion, and disease management. Determining the credibility of a website starts with tools that can be used to evaluate the site. Usability comes in many forms, and has many ingredients to it. For a start, the layout is the most important. You can have good graphics but bad layout, and your site is ruined. Not thinking further than your own computer screen is a big mistake. If a page does not fit my screen when I open it up it already lost some points, so standardised width is a bonus that all good sites have. Even if you don 't fill up the screen on bigger resolutions, having it usable on all is n good point (like nokia.com or cnn.com). Where you place everything is going to make it a good site or not.
Web sites are just like magazines, newspapers, brochures, menus, or even directions on how to make nitroglycerin from house-hold goods, in that they all have to be put together in such a manner that whoever is reading or browsing over it will be able to clearly distinguish this from that. In this sense, a critique of any particular web site will have justification, while carefully considering also that this is an altogether new medium of information exchange. Now, all of this talk of togetherness is actually a general reference to basic design principles, such as color coordination, if color is used, text size, font choice/ style, art integration, accessibility, and just plain and simple design of the page. I would like to share with you what I have recently learned about obtaining information through the Internet. The Internet is a tremendous potential source of information about virtually any imaginable topic of interest. However, because there is no regulation or quality control over what people choose to publish online, it is crucial to learn ways of distinguishing credible, reliable, factually accurate information sources from those that are not credible, unreliable, factually inaccurate sources. For example, websites that are maintained by government agencies, accredited university research programs, and licensed professionals are good candidates to be considered reliable sources of information online.
