Ever took a drive around Fayetteville? Avoiding pothole is a challenge these days. Driving down 71st and School these days is a nightmare. Repaving the roads in Fayetteville would be a big investment in many ways, not only would it improve the towns look, but it would also make it safer for the community members to drive on the roads.
Fayetteville community members will be those in the end to put out the money for these potholes because they do damage to car. As “Experts say damaged roads lead to damaged cars, so motorists collectively end up paying millions of dollar to repair their cars, all because some cities aren’t spending the money to repair their roads” (Leamy and Weber, Par. 15). According to Midweek “Ball estimates that

11). I know that every driver has hit their share of pot holes On the other hand, you may believe that repaving the road would be too much money, raise our taxes and, cause detour and traffic jams. These are all understandable reason of disbelief but in the end extra taxes, money, and traffic is all worth the smooth and safer roads. According to Midweek car damage from pothole, “include hole in the sidewall of the tire, tire knocked from rim, cracks or entire hunks knocked out of an aluminum alloy rims, suspension damage, damage to lower control arms and trailing arms” (Pelusa, par. 12). There are many sign of pothole damage such as “…pulling to one side while driving, stirring wheel shake or shimmy, vibrations on the floorboard, rubbing or grinding (Pelusa, par. 12). So in the end a little extra money on the roads can save us from spending more money on our cars. Plus the traffic is only a temporary deal that will clear up. Thus all these problems are worth it when it comes down to protecting our community members and their cars.
It’s time to start looking at potholes in a different way, especially when driving over one. I hope this paper has been informative and persuasive because our roads are the number one need in this town and many other.
When we modernize roads in the future, people will not be able to see much change. In fact, aside from widening some criminally narrow roads, and maybe a few additional routes where appropriate; before and after pictures will likely be pretty much identical.
Impact: This is import because further, well-maintained roads, coupled with access to public transportation and other driving alternatives, can lower traffic congestion and accident rates which not only save Americans time and money but also save
Although some individuals and governmental bodies sway towards minimizing and controlling usage, some other groups believe it is best to eradicate the usage of road salt altogether. Both of these are good suggestions and will definitely address the problem. However it is important to evaluate any suggestions and understand how the factors discussed above contribute to the increased use of road
Why do you think McCarthy has chosen not to give his characters names? How do the generic labels of “the man” and “the boy” affect the way you /readers relate to them?
I feel that Shullsburg should fix their roads because it would help renew our community, while making it safer for our citizens. Renovating our roads would make the community more presentable. I have been through many towns and they have many great structures, but the roads make the town seem unsanitary and filthy. When the streets are not filled with potholes and cracks, the town looks immaculate. Roads do not
While potholes are usually found most abundantly in cold weather climates, no part of the country is immune to them. Road safety officials traditionally ask motorists to report potholes to their local Department of Motor Vehicles so that public utility workers can patch them up as quickly as possible.

Throughout the years’ roads have been a huge issue in the El Paso area. There have been many road improvement projects suggested for the eastern part of El Paso county. Many roads have begun to go under construction, but are they fixing the right roads? In the matter of Old Hueco Tanks Road, there are many components missing; there’s pretty much no road to begin with.
According Edmonton’s 2012 budget report, almost all municipalities across Canada face a significant infrastructure deficit. Neighborhood renewal occurred periodically with funding from other orders of government, yet it failed to address the full life-cycle requirements of preventative maintenance, rehabilitation, and reconstruction. Over time, the condition of roads, sidewalks and sewers deteriorated, resulting in more frequent collapsed sewers, increased sidewalk hazards, and dramatically increased maintenance like pothole repairs. The Office of Infrastructure and Funding Strategy highlighted the need for ongoing funding for neighborhood infrastructure to overcome an anticipated $2.2 billion funding gap in neighborhood roads and related infrastructure.
With roads in such substandard conditions and with no signs of repairs coming in the near future, Baton Rouge drivers have to be careful on the roads. One cannot always take the freeway to get to places and there might be heavy traffic if everyone tries to use it. Along with the fact that sometime a route cannot be planned around a terrible road as it is the only way to the destination. With these factors in mind, one must be prepared to drive for the safety of oneself and others. Whenever coming to a pothole or any other danger that may come with an inadequate road, it is important to drive slowly and cautiously. This is most important due to the fact that driving carefully on even the safest of roads in order to avoid a vehicular
According to Firestone Complete Auto Care, potholes can puncture tires, cause wear on shocks and struts, and also damage your engine. I have been a key witness to these effects since I have been in Houston, and it is beginning to get costly and upsetting. When I went to National Tire and Battery to get an estimate on how much it would cost to get my shocks, struts, and alignment fixed the mechanic said it would cost around 2,000 dollars to repair the damages. To be honest, I don’t have 2,000 dollars laying around to get my car fixed and because of this my mother had to drive all the way from Fort Worth, Texas to bring me their car while mines is being fixed. With doing this, my parents and I are in a financial bond right now and are struggling to get around comfortably and efficiently. Therefore, the pothole crisis plays a key role in where my money is going to and how much I am spending due to
When an individual has lived in and around an area such as New Orleans, La, the majority of their lives, it is hard to imagine an area with roads that are just as bad as, if not worse, as those in the city of New Orleans. With countless potholes, crumbling pavement and sink holes popping up here and there, there is no way the streets could be that bad anywhere else. That is the mentality that one has until the venture out to other cities such as Toledo. According to an article published in the Toledo Blade on June 19,2015 by Tom Troy, Toledo’s roads are the second worst in the state of Ohio. With the poor road conditions and constant road constructions, comes a number of problems for the city’s residents. People are forced to spend countless
The condition of our roads the past couple summers has been pretty poor. Many of the main streets are filled with large pot holes and loose
We live on dirt roads, which don't have many cars on it. one way to improve the roads would be to trim trees and trim areas around intersections, so you could see better. Another improvement would be to have the potholes filled in.
Our transportation system, quite arguably, may embody our most vital system, as Infrastructure and Democracy clarifies, “access is the hallmark of a great infrastructure” (Jones, Reinecke). By great contrast, our roads remain a current issue. 42 percent of America’s urban highways remain congested, costing the United States 101 billion dollars in wasted time and fuel each year. Also, the32 percent of roads, in poor or mediocre condition, cost the average traveler $324 per year (American Infrastructure Report Card). Unfortunately, updating the highway systems seems longer than it may seem, as the Government Accountability Office (GAO) estimates that from proposal to completion most highways will need nine to nineteen years to fix (Leduc, Wilson 129). In addition to the roads, our bridges are failing just as much. One of every nine bridges within the United States is categorized as structurally deficient. The average bridge 42 years old, and in order to eliminate the bridge renovation backlog, our country would need to invest twenty and a half billion dollars until 2028 (American Infrastructure Report Card). However, in 2013, the United States only invested 12.8 billion dollars in bridge reconstruction and repair (American Infrastructure Report Card). Also, our countries transit
