The power of rhetoric use is very powerful in our world. It has been used strongly in the past to where it has shaped the world as we know it today. Rhetoric is persuasive speaking or writing that contains meaningful content. The use of rhetoric can be found from recording artists, filmmakers, and social media. They all want to persuade their audiences to abide by what they are trying to express.

Recording artists use rhetoric in many songs they make. For example, artist like Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Kendrick Lamar, and many more created a plethora of songs to inform the world that there must be a change in the way we are living. Artists voice are heard by millions of listeners. With their strong fan base, they persuaded many listeners to do what each of their particular song was suggesting. During Marvin Gaye times, He used his voice to openly persuade listeners to come together as one and love each other. A few years following Gaye, Michael Jackson created some protest songs regarding world issues such as in the song “Heal the world” and “They Don’t Really Care About Us”. In modern day, Kendrick Lamar is releasing songs that suggest listeners to open their eyes to reality. Recording artists use their powerful voices to get their ideas heard. …show more content…

The difference between how recording artists and filmmakers use rhetoric is that filmmakers are able to showcase a message more in depth than an artist. They are able to show a visual of what something would be like if people follow the message the filmmaker is trying to showcase.
