Diana, Princess of Wales was considered the people’s princess. She married Prince Charles, son of Queen Elizabeth II, of England in 1981. When they divorced in late 1996 the people were heart broken over the affair that Prince Charles had with Camilla Parker Bowles. Princess Diana led the same life she had been, she continued her charity work and her love life. The tragedy that left the country in tears and the world in disbelief, ended with unanswered questions which people turned into conspiracy theories. Princess Diana was killed in an attempt to keep the country 's secrets safe.

Diana’s brother, Earl Spencer, gave a eulogy for her on September 6, 1997. In the eulogy he speaks of how much Diana meant to the people of not only England, but also the people of the world. Although Eleanor Roosevelt served as first lady from 1932 to 1945, her influence lasted much longer than expected. Eleanor became her husband’s ears and eyes during her husband’s presidency and aided human rights during her entire life. She did what no other First Lady, or woman had dared to do before; she challenged society’s wrong doings. Many respected her; President Truman had called her “the First Lady of the World (Freedman, 168).” Eleanor Roosevelt was an amazing first lady who helped her husband, Franklin D. Roosevelt, run the country.

Princess Diana was an inspiration for many people around the world and used her royalty to highlight major social issues. Diana’s dedication to humanitarian work helped to promote awareness and raise money for a wide range of charitable causes, including her campaign against landmines and her kind hearted approach to the AIDS predicament. Diana crossed boundaries to offer support to casualties and worked hard to change the opinions of the general public, which didn't particularly follow royal protocol because she lead from the heart, not the head.

Diana Frances Spencer was born on July 1, 1961 in Sandringham, United Kingdom to the eighth Earl of Spencer, Edward John Spencer, and Frances Spencer. Diana had four other siblings; Elizabeth, Cynthia, John, and Charles. In 1967, Frances Spencer left Edward for Peter Shand-Kydd. Frances and Edward divorced in 1969. The children stayed with Edward and, in 1976, Edward married Raine, Countess of Dartmouth. After the death of Diana’s grandfather, the seventh Earl of Spencer, the family moved to the Althorp house in Northamptonshire.1

Eleanor Roosevelt was a honest person who had responsibility and compassion towards her husband , family and her fellow man, whatever their social status. She used great citizenship and initiative actions in dealing with anyone who was fortunate enough to make her acquaintance. Eleanor Roosevelt is an outspoken advocate of social justice. During the years she has taken over a lot of responsibility. For someone who spent thefirst third of her life as shy and timid, she showed great courage once she was thrust into the presidential “spotlight”.

Her mother, Anna Hall, died of diphtheria along with her brother Elliot Jr. Two years later her father died. Elliot Roosevelt died of illness, alcohol, and despair. He missed his family.
