Mia Thermopolis in "The Princess Diaries" of 2001, starring Anne Hathaway, is giving a speech to the people of Genovia regarding her decision to be their princess. In the beginning Mia is invisible to everyone throughout high school and she only thinks about herself. Through bravery and understanding, she accepts the role to be Princess of Genovia to secure and improve the land. In this movie scene it uses a system of ethos, logos, and pathos. These are used by the certain emotions, logics, and credibility that are within the audience and Mia.
She mentions how all girls are exposed to princesses, no matter where they go. Orenstein expresses her concern as a parent and how princesses could be damaging to the mental and emotional
As I’ve had your company, my love for you perpetuates to grow. I sit there with you as you complain “how slow This old moon wanes! She lingers my desires, like a stepdame or a dowager Ling withering out a young man’s revenue.”You rant about how slow the days pass, how the slow the moon fades, and how the moon is keeping you from what you optate, like what you compare to, a widow making her stepson wait to get his passed on possessions. Nonetheless, I’d found it amusing and relieving that we could be honest with each other. You wish for the day of our wedding to come and eager for it because you want to espouse me.“Stir up the Athenian youth to merriments. Awake the pert and nimble spirit of mirth. Turn Melancholy forth to funerals. The pale companion is not for our pomp," you order Philostrate. Theseus, when you said that, I knew you were serious about me and our wedding. You want to welcome me as the Queen of Athens with pride to everyone, and I appreciate that. Moreover, it shows me that you care about me and what others may think of me.
Emmeryn received the crown of her dead father for her 10th birthday. Silently she took the throne, still wet with the blood of Plegia, and savored that instance of dread. And with a vow, she swore that upon her life, Ylisse and her people would know peace once more.
In the past, there have been countless princess movies or so-called “Cinderella” films. However, the general message that each one of these movies have given has changed as time has progressed. With this change, expectations placed on the princesses have been modified as well. This change in expectations has been thoroughly discussed by two authors, James Poniewozik and Peggy Orenstein. Poniewozik, a media and television critic for Time magazine, wrote an article entitled “The Princess Paradox” where he discusses this evolution of expectations. As well as him, Orenstein, a contributing writer for the New York Times Magazine, wrote an article with the title of “Cinderella and Princess Culture” where she also discusses the development of the expectations on girls. Even though Poniewozik and Orenstein discuss the evolution of expectations portrayed on girls, Orenstein is able to illuminate the more complex ideas that Poniewozik is attempting to express based on the expectations of girls.
The “princess phase” is first up for debate as Orenstein discusses the concept with fellow mothers at her daughter’s school. Each of the mothers justify the princess epidemic in a different way, one stating that it’s simply about dressing up and that the stories are not permitted in the home while another says that having a princess ideal gives her daughter a strong identity as a woman and as female -- a place were 1960s feminism erred, according to this same mother.
“It is really funny for me when people call me princess. It’s actually comes from my childhood. I loved Disney princesses and was a huge fan of them especially Cinderella’s honestly I am still. My parents were trying to dress me like a princess because they knew how I liked it. I had a lot of different kind of crowns, which I would wear at home, and sometimes outside of course when I was a kid. All my school notebooks and book covers were covered with pictures of princesses. I really loved how princesses looked how they were dressed, and act. Whenever my parents were asking who I want to be on my birthday party or on different kind of celebrations the answer always was, of course, a princess ” said Tatishvili.
“A princess volunteering.Out of the question!’’said Woraug.(pg.#18)As you can see this shows that Cimorene is not displaying princess-like behavior. In other words, this also shows that Cimorene does have more than plenty reasons to be acting in this
Cimorene doesn't act like a regular princess because she didn’t want to marry Therandil. She wanted to be a dragon's princess. She wanted to be free at
Authors James Poniewozik and Peggy Orenstein are both concerned with the increase of princess culture among young girls. Poniewozik’s article “The Princess Paradox” and Orenstein's article “Cinderella and Princess Culture” discuss similar aspects of princess culture that could be potentially harmful to it’s audience. Both Poniewozik and Orenstein take on a feminist perspective in their articles. Specifically, both authors discuss feminist themes in princess culture but Orenstein focuses on toddler to pre-teen aged girls while Poniewozik is more concerned with specifically teenagers.

The four enter the compact newsstand: Duncan takes Naveen to the far wall; Clark and Kelly dump anything they can find to hold the door shut. They block it half way. They are safe for now as the zombies moan outside.
“I’ve got more than enough money for my daughter. What I need is honour. I intend to make her a marquise” (226).
His fervent and imperious ways were in instilled in her since birth. Knowing the princess’s nature, the king did not just “happen” to find out about their affair it was planned.
