Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca is best known as the first Spaniard to explore what we now consider to be southwestern United States. His nine-year odyssey is chronicled within the book The Chronicle of the Narvaez Expedition. His account is considered especially interesting because it is one of the very first documents that illustrates interactions between American natives and explorers. However, when examining the exploration of the modern United States, there are many arguments that have to do with the entitlement to the land and the motivations behind settling in the first place. Most explorers were obviously in favor of their own conquests and Cabeza de Vaca is of course no exception. In Chronicle of the Narvaez Expedition, Cabeza de
The Spanish conquistadors’ motives greatly affected the people living in the new world. These motives influenced the Native Americans in all different ways some ways better or bigger than others. Three of the biggest motives that effected the Native Americans were gold, Christianity, and glory.
Mark Danner, an editor for the New York Times magazine, recounts in The Massacre at El Mozote a horrific crime against humanity committed by a branch of the Salvadorian army. He gives multiple points of views and cites numerous eye witnesses to try and piece together something that has been tucked away by the government at the time. In December, of 1981, news reports were leaked to major newspapers in the united states about an atrocity committed and a total massacre of a hamlet in El Salvador, known as El Mozote, or the Thicket. At first, the account was of over a thousand civilians, women men and children with no guerrilla affiliation were massacred. Danner pieces together the testimonies of the survivors, and interviews with

The capacity of an organization to survive in the present, intricate and competitive business environment is strongly grounded on the nimbleness and flexibility of the established organizational structure (Shafieem Razminia & Zeymaran, 2016). Furthermore, the effectiveness of the organizational structure is a significant aspect of obtaining a competitive advantage in the industry. Unfortunately, at Aristocrat, the establish structure is ineffective and creates a cumbersome environment and therefore acts in a preventive manner rather than as a source of competitive advantage. The ineffectiveness of the organization structure at Aristocrat appear to be a result of at least two significant inadequacies.
On Noise, is a stoic piece composed by Seneca who was raised in Rome during the first century AD. On Noise explores an aspect of humanity that is surprisingly appropriate for our current times, how it is part of human nature to become distracted. Seneca explores the fascinating idea of how it is human nature to be distracted and that we must busy ourselves with tasks or succumb to the danger of being overcome by the distractions or the “noise” that surrounds us, he does through the extended metaphor of the obvious distractions of sound and by using the scenario of busy street in everyday life, for the sake of this essay we will take the definition of human nature to be “The general psychological characteristics, feelings and behavioural traits of human kind, regarded as shared by all humans”. We as a reader must take into account that this is a translation of a Latin text and that in Latin the order that the words are written is extremely important, even so that writers such as Ovid or Pliny could spend days on single sentences trying to perfectly compose it, Latin prose is an art form in itself, but we can grasp the simple techniques that are just as applicable in English as they are in Latin, and henceforth from them the examination of human psyche that Seneca has gone through in this text. We are led through a journey that was typical to texts of this stoic form and intent, he first involves us into the text using the reader as an example as he submerges us into the
