What do you think?
A controversy type of research would be stem cell research due to the fact it involves the development and the destruction of the human embryos. Scientists have divided the topic of stem cells into many aspects in order to obtain a method of testing and to expand more knowledge on stem cells.
What are pros and cons of stem cell research?
The best pro in this kind of research would be the limitless opportunity for scientists to discover about human growth and cell development from studying stem cells. Another benefit with stem cell research it provides regenerative medicine and therapeutic cloning. These benefits can lead to finding cures for diseases such as the following: different kinds of cancers, diabetes, spinal cord
Embryonic stem cell research is a highly debated and sensitive topic. There is a lot of good that can come from researching this technology of stem cell research because many people all across the globe would benefit from it. The United States will soon fall short while other countries are already using this advancement if we cannot come to a logical conclusion on this vital issue.
The pros of Stem Cell Research and Treatment are never ending. There is an account of two women being completely blind, but due to stem cell research, their sight was repaired. Another case is that of a ninety-five year old woman who was taken off medication and her health somewhat restored due to the use of stem cells. Doctors were able to inject stem cells into her heart and they took the shape of heart neurons.
Stem cell research is a fairly controversial topic in the United States. Stem cells are cells that have the potential to become certain types of cells throughout a human body. There are a few types of stem cells, which are embryonic stem cells, adult stem cells, and induced pluripotent stem cells. Embryonic stem cells are the most controversial due to the manner from which they are obtained. Embryonic stem cells are pluripotent cells gathered from the inner cell mass of a blastocyst, which is an early-stage embryo that contains about 50-150 cells. However, the extraction of these cells causes the blastocyst to be destroyed, which is what raises many flags to people. The controversy of stem cell research began as early as 1996 when congress
Stem cell research is a topic that is taking this world by storm. Beliefs and morality are
Embryonic Stem Cell Research are pluripotent stem cells derived from the inner cell mass of a blastocyst. I believe that the use of Embryonic Stem Research is beneficial to society because these cells have unlimited potential. They can allow permanent repair to failing organs by injecting healthy cells into the damaged organ. They also can used for finding and preventing cures for cancers, Parkinson’s disease, birth defects, spinal cord injuries, and strokes. However, Stem Cell Research is a controversial topic, especially when referring to Embryonic Stem Cell Research.
Stem-cell research is a complex subject. First of all you need to know there are three main categories of stem cells. Embryonic, Fetal and Adult; not everyone is for or against all of these types. There are different sets on pros and cons to each of these types and I will address a few for each type. I believe the pros outweigh the cons in each of these and stem cell research is very beneficial for medical purposes.
Stem cell research has already identified potential diseases it could combat against; from Cancer to Alzheimer’s, Diabetes to Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis to Huntington’s, and possibly many more. With such a wide array of possible beneficial outcomes of further researching stem cells, is it ethically sound? Or is this putting too much power in the hands of our scientist, who some believe are “playing god”? It is quite evident that there are great possibilities from further researching stem cells, but at what cost?
or not it is ethically acceptable to study stem cells and their capabilities to further knowledge. Those who deem studying stem cells ethical, focus on the benefits that they can provide for people with diseases such as cancer and those who have permanent injuries. Those whose opinion is in opposition to stem cell research, support their claim by pointing out how taking an embryo’s stem cells kills it. There are are different arguments supporting both sides.
There are pros and cons to stem cell transplants. I believe the pros outweigh the cons in stem cell research and is very beneficial in the end. Stem cells provide potential for finding treatments and cures to diseases including different cancers, diabetes, spinal cord injuries, Alzheimer's, MS, Huntington's, Parkinson's and more. Embryonic stem cell research is one of the most controversial researches.Recently there has been a success with the research, “Professor Mats Brannstrom, carried out the first womb transplant in 2014 which allowed a Swedish woman to give birth to a healthy baby boy. Since then he has undertaken nine more procedures resulting in a total of five births.”
Restate your thesis The most important reason stem cell research should not continue is because you can grow and farm human and their organs and have the potential to clone people. Stem cells research should not take place because to get the stem cells you have to abort fetuses or very, very young babies. If the stem cells extraction works on a baby, the results still lead to the death of that child. Another reason stem cell research should not take place is because you intercede between God and Man deciding life and death.
There have been many controversies around the world concerning the ethical issues of the Embryotic Stem-Cell Research (ESC). Some people consider it to be abortion while others believe it is not. To many individuals, it involves a violation of their moral standards and is against their religious beliefs. To this day, many individuals are haunted by these disputes. Unfortunately, the laws that preserve life have been so perversely bent out of shape that nobody knows which answer should be taken on this subject. Many individuals believe that it could be the greatest research for the findings of many cures of cancer and diseases; however killing an embryo does not come to mind when they think of such experiments. They simply do not comprehend
patients become greatly disappointing and disheartening and leads them to seek elsewhere. In a study that interviewed patients and their families after receiving stem cell therapies, one subject wrote, “The Chinese doctors are better than Canadian doctors, Canadian doctors are greedy, they work for the rich, but the Chinese doctors are happy to help, they are more responsible to their patients, and more professional” (Masters). Although whether a doctor decides on performing unproven therapies does not directly correlate with their skill, it does reflect on how they view their patients. Doctors who ensure treatment efficacy for their patient’s safety may be viewed as “greedy” or “unprofessional” for refusing care, but this viewpoint is a
Research on stem cells is knowledge constantly being explored about how an organism evolves from a single cell and how cells in good condition are put in place of cells that no longer work. The outcome that is anticipated from doing this research is that if scientist can fine tune stem cells into regular cells like blood or heart muscles and put it back into the body, then possibly they may find a cure for some of the widespread diseases that exist in our world today such as diabetes, leukemia, and many more by replacing those weak cells with youthful cells. Eventually this research might lead to realistic, reasonably priced ways to get rid of many diseases through DNA engineering but is it really worth
Much of human existence has revolved around optimal health which was vital for a productive life. That same ideal is still a big part of life today. Humans are becoming healthier, generation after generation, as new medical discoveries increase. Resulting in a rise in life expectancy. Stem cell research, still in its infancy, strives toward the betterment and prolonging of human life. The potential of stem cells to help in the advancement health makes them incredibly beneficial to the human race. Sounds like a great idea, right? Then why do stem cell debates create so much controversy? There is a dispute over the ethics of stem cell research and from my understanding many people on different sides of the issue are not educated on all aspects
Stem cell research can potentially help treat a range of medical problems. It could lead humanity closer to better treatment and maybe even cures to a number of problems like: Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s, Heart Diseases, Strokes, and Type 1 Diabetes, Birth Defects, Spinal Cord Injuries, Replace or Repair Damaged
