The year 1960 was the year change started to play a bigger role in America. This was the year people were ready to start standing up for what they believed in. The year 1960 is often recognized for the Civil Rights Movement led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This movement is actually very easy to describe. It was a massive movement with the dedication to guarantee equal access as well as equal opportunities for the basic rights and privileges for all African Americans just like all other U.S. citizens had. Now along with this massive movement we saw many other cultural and civil rights movements. Women were able to do jobs that before the movement it was unheard of. When comparing the Women's Movement with the Civil Rights Movement you see the similarsite in a way that they both wanted the same thing. In the end they both wanted to be treated the same, and oven the same opportunities as everyone else. While the Civil Rights Movement might have gained a little more advantages, but that was solely because women already had a lot of the advantages the African Americans were fighting for. Along with the Women's movement we see more change with the Consumer Rights Movement. Yet this movement is a little different. It wasn't set out to give people the same rights as another group like the previous ones we have talked about. This movement was about giving all the people different ways to go about consuming goods. The Consumer Rights Movement was an effort to try and give consumer protection through an organized more social movement. In other words it gave popel protection as well as an easier way to handle money. For instance this moment gave us the Hire- Purchase Act. which convert money from credit providers for goods which were not fully owned until the entire sum of the item purchased was paid
