One of the most controversial topics over the years, and still today, is abortion. Is abortion murder or not? When does a fetus become a human? There are no answers to these questions. Everyone individual has their own beliefs on whether or not abortion is justifiable. Abortions have been performed throughout many of centuries. Recently, there has been a number of court cases that has changed the legality of abortions, especially in the United States, for example Roe v. Wade. There are two main political parties you can choose from in the United States, The Democrats and the Republicans. There are also third parties you can choose from. People can choose to be part of any party. We are divided by the left and right side on the political spectrum. The right are more conservative and the left are more liberal. These two political parties show philosophical differences through their viewpoints on major topics. With so many differences between the parties, finding topics or issues upon which constituents agree on can be difficult.

Abortion is a subject that numerous people have strong opinions about; some believe that it is a form of murder and should be banned, yet others believe that the decision should be for the woman herself to make. In my eyes, the choice to abort or not abort is the woman’s, not the public’s. However, many men disagree with pro-choice.

Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks (Abortion). Abortion is a controversial topic because one group of people would say it is killing a human (Abortion ProCon.org). On the other hand, the other group of people would say that the fetus is not developed enough to call it a human. This is an issue because it goes against morals that people have been been raised up on. It even goes against religion in which it defies the word of God. The other group says it’s a fundamental right guaranteed by the Constitution (Abortion ProCon.org).

Babies are born and killed every day. Not babies, but unborn fetuses. It’s a sensitive topic for some, more than others. But for me I feel the topic of abortion should be discussed and ideas should be shared with one another. Abortion is a permanent decision to have an unborn fetus, (between 12 and 20 weeks), removed from a woman's womb. There are more pro-life believers than pro-choice. I am one of those few pro-choice believers that laugh at the “anti-abortion” picketers outside Planned Parenthood. Although there are some instances where people think abortion is not moral, it is completely up to the woman and possibly her partner as well.

These arguments have caused the government to try to make a decision either to get rid of abortion or have it be left alone. The two sides that had come up for this argument are the pro-life and pro-choice supporters. The fight against each other has been very long and brutal. That is one of the many amazing things about living in America, free to have our own opinions. Many things do not have a right or wrong answer. One thing in specific that caught my attention is the Planned Parenthood debate.

It is no surprise that the abortion debate has once again have brought into the mainstream focus this year. Yet, this time around the age old debate is now attacking organizations that offer such procedures, vilifying the entire organization for only one service it offers. This vilification has continuously gained momentum for ages, but it was the attack upon Planned Parenthood earlier this year that has brought the debate to head once again. Recently Pro-Life groups took up arms to destroy the organization that they believed that had fetal “corpses [being] desecrated for profit” (Moore 3), a phrase they use to ignite emotional response. These people believe that the videos are the greatest indicator of what the organizations partakes in, immoral and unjust activities and thus should be defunded. Thus, comes about the argument between the morality and the legality of continual federal support of an organization that offers such treatments even if such procedures are a small portion of its services. But Planned Parenthood is more than a few morally ambiguous services. The organization is a healthcare center, a symbolic step in the women’s rights movement and an informational hub for those who need it, all which dictate the very reasons why the organization should remain funded. The lackluster arguments of religious moral obligations attempts to strip people of their right to have such an organization around.

     One of the toughest issues to debate in our world today is abortion. Abortion is the induced termination of pregnancy before the fetus can survive. Nowadays, abortion affects all people, not just the mother and the baby. There are moral, ethical, health-related, political, and religious aspects that affect how people feel towards abortion. By looking at religion and its views, one can see just how hard it would be to argue in the pro-choice position of this debate.

The pro-life supporters had succeeded in saving the lives of innocent babies who would have been slaughtered for the convenience of selfish, ignorant and irresponsible women. This new law had made women actually settle down and raise families or give birth to beautiful children. We all know that, it has been proven time to time throughout history that the human spirit will not allow prohibition.
