Explanation: All three of these factors fit with my career choice. I thrive in an environment where I am given the chance to do what I do best. The amount of pay is important and that is why I plan to pursue a masters in counseling, which will provide an extra income through private practice. 3. Discuss the connection between education and employment.
New service industry jobs require enhanced skills and proficiencies, many demanding successful applicants to possess college degrees and other certifications. According to the OOH “Education is essential in getting a high–paying job.” The BLS states that “Education is an important determinant of labor market outcomes. The more education a person has, the more likely he or she is to be in the labor force and the less likely he or she is to be unemployed.” According to the text, a person’s capacity to earn more can be directly related to their level of education.

1) What role do you think education will play in the future? – I believe education will continue to play a large role in the future. If I’m honest with myself, I think most jobs will be looking for applicants who hold a master or doctor degree rather than just a bachelors. – Yes, I do think there is a danger. For example, if you weren't able to find a job or an employer willing to hire you, you run the risk of feeling inadequate. If you were able to find a job you run the risk of experiencing burn out. I think its one thing to know what you want and another thing to expand and embrace potential job opportunities.
2) What negatives would you want to be aware of in considering a job as a correctional officer? – I would want to be aware of the potential for irregular hours and heavy caseloads. Going into a job as a correctional officer thinking you will be working an 8 to 5 would be a disappointing.
3) Can you think of unique skills that could make a job candidate more attractive to a hiring agency? – Yes, I think being able to present yourself in a way that is professional yet personable is a quality most employers are looking for. Other skills could include honesty, integrity, adaptability, problem–solving, self–confidence, and loyalty. Possessing most of these qualities would classify an individual as having a unique skill
