In the past, I have explored becoming a physical therapist, via shadowing, or pursuing a career in medical research. I decided not to pursue physical therapy because I became more interested in parts of medicine that are not the focus of physical therapy (specifically diseases of the cardiopulmonary system). Additionally, I also became interested in surgery and this is not a component of physical therapy. The reason I decided against a career strictly focused on medical research is because part of my passion for medicine is for interacting directly with patients. I am committed to working with patients and their families and diagnosing and treating individual patients and that is not something I would be able to do during medical
In today’s world, people need more assistance, or aid, to better their health. Physical therapy seems to be the ideal career path for someone like myself, who likes hands-on activities. Hopefully after two years, I will be able to call myself a physical therapy assistant (PTA). A PTA plays an important role in the rehabilitation to help a patient, who was injured return back to proper level of physical functioning. The profession of physical therapy will show my drive and dedication to help people in need. Becoming a PTA will show my excellent communication skills and ability to work well with other individuals in hopes of helping people regain their physical function, so they can take on everyday life. This career path has job security,
A Physical Therapy Assistant involves assisting a Physical Therapist who helps with the rehabilitation of people that have different injuries past or present. They help people get back to their normal self and help them learn to live on their own with little to no assistance. The Physical Therapist Assistants job consists of mainly helping with the workouts and massages. They help with impairments, disabilities, and their mobility (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). As a physical therapy assistant, you can work in different locations like therapy, gyms, hospitals, and schools.
The article that I chose was published by Mayo Clinic School of Health Science, the title of the article is “Physical Therapy”. The article informs the reader on the roles, goals, as well as the overall definition of a physical therapist. According to the article, “Physical therapists (PTs) work with patients who have impairments, limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes.” Therefore, a physical therapist works directly with the population that has a form of impairment in their movement, whether it is from an injury or an illness. The roles of a physical therapist are examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis
My career goal is to have my own Physical Therapy practice, and to be my own boss. I want to help revolutionize the ways in which medical personnel approach their patients, as there tends to be a disconnection between patients and medical staff. One of the biggest challenges I will likely face is owning my own practice, because I would first need to work under another company until I gain enough experience and financial wellness to open my own office. However, money and experience are only a small portion of making my business and my vision successful. I will need to be diligent in my pursuits, despite any setbacks that may occur, in an effort to help my practice thrive. My patients will be my number one concern in this respect. If I implement
There are various positions in a sports medicine team such as physicians, orthopedic surgeons, sports physical therapists, and certified athletic trainers. The position in the sports medicine team that I have chose to do research over is a Sports Physical Therapist. I have always been interested in this field and I hope to pursue it in the future. Currently, I work at a physical therapy clinic called Physical Therapy Central. By having this opportunity, I am able to see what it is like to be a Physical Therapist.
My sense is to become a successful young man that makes my family proud. I imagine myself in the next two years to become a physical therapist assistant. If I were to graduate college and manage to join this type of career. My family would be so proud of me and congratulate me of my success. I will accomplish this by finishing my college course in the next two years. I will not give up on myself and coutnine pursue my education. This action is not necessarily enforced by family but by me. I always keep this thought in my head with my everyday actions. Also whenever I complete a college course there is always this sense of pride that comes out of it. It is the greatest feeling on this world for me. This would be the deftion of what success

Their main duty is helping patients rehabilitate with disabling injuries such as fractures, arthritis and low-back pain. Their duty is to help patients their relieve pain, increase mobility, and decrease long-term physical disabilities. Physical therapists focus on the evaluation of strength, balance, range of motion, co-ordination, endurance, and posture of each individual patient. Finding a career may be an imitating approach conversely, it may be the most important factor in the long run. The world offers thousands of various occupations that benefit everyone around them. The occupation I assume would benefit me also others around would be to become a Physical Therapist. Physical Therapists, also abbreviated as PTs, are sharply-intelligent health care providers who educate, rehabilitate, treat, and prevent their patients from pain in the human anatomy (American Physical Therapy Association). Aspiring physical therapists should take into consideration the duties, education, requirements, offering schools, salary, and alternate jobs to ensure their decision in this profession.
I hope the new year is treating you well! This year I am a sophomore at the University of Evansville. I am pursuing a degree in exercise science and hope to one day become a physical therapist. My dream job would be to work in an outpatient physical therapy office. The time I have spent at the University of Evansville has been something I will look back on fondly for the rest of my life. I am involved in numerous campus organizations, such as the exercise science club, physical therapy club, national society of leadership and success, and hall council. My favorite organization is Hall Council, because it has introduced me to some great people that I am proud to be able to call my friends. I also have the privilege to be the vice president for

Many times you are asked the question, what do you want to do in the future? The answer to this question varies depending on your age. When I was younger I would have said I wanted to be a teacher when I got older because my mom worked with kids. However now that I am a senior getting ready to make a real decision that will affect my future my answer has changed. In five years I plan to be in graduates school working towards my degree in physical therapy. Right after I complete high school I want to go straight into college. To become a physical therapist you need to get your doctorates degree which can take up to eight to ten years. You also have to attend an internship to get experience with the field. It is good to have multiple job shadows so you know what you are getting yourself into. In order to be a physical therapist you need patience but also need to know how to get people to listen to you.
My ultimate career goal is to become a physical therapist for athletes or adolescences. Over the years, I have aspired to become a physical therapist because it is my passion to help others and to make a difference in the lives of others. This goal of becoming a physical therapist has developed over time. During high school, I used to spend some time in the athletic training room due to playing football and the various injuries that I’ve obtained. I had a unique athletic trainer Mr. Palmer. He taught me life lessons that school could not teach me. He taught how to be a selfless individual. His passion for his job and helping others fueled my passion and it moves me to want to help others. Although he was an athletic trainer,

Modern medicine, physicians and families can only do so much but physical therapy can help recoup the life many of us take for granted. It often isn’t until we lose something that we as humans realize what we had such as the value of our body’s ability to take us through each day. A physical therapist is the person who stays with a patient for the duration of the rehabilitation process. A physical therapist leads the patient through the process of regaining physical strength and helps the patient regain control of their future. Much like many careers that involve interaction with individuals, physical therapy reaches beyond
