On the play An Enemy of the people, at the end of act 1 scene 2 page 60, Mrs. Stockmann says to her husband "Tom, Tom, there's so much injustice in the world! You've simply got to learn to live with it." Before, in the same scene we can see the difference of opinions between Dr. Stockmann and his family. Dr. Stockmann reveals his desire to tell the people the truth about the contaminated water, and the wish he has to solve the problem. His family do not agree with his opinion because it could put on risk their power under the city and they could loose much. That is why Mrs. Stockmann tells this quote to her husband, she is trying to convince him of changing is mind. As we can see in the rest of the play, Dr. Stockmann refutes to change his mind. Many people believe that we should not worry about all the problems in the world, due to that we aren't able to solve them all. This quote can be related to actual problems like the Global Warming, when parents realize their children have grown up, and discrimination. …show more content…
The Global Warming is one of the biggest issues of our time. Most people don't care or think that one person can make the difference. These people, including my self, continue their life like waiting for the problems to fix themselves. Scientists have said that in a few years many parts of our planet would be lost due to the big amount of water. If it continues like this there is going to be a time where lands would be extincted. Now is the time to take action and fix what ourselves have
Global Warming is a major world problem that we have but people don’t seem to realize that and it may end all life on earth as we know it. We are causing many problems to the earth that we don’t realize what we are doing we may think everything is ok but it’s not. Global warming is all our fault and we need to stop!
Global warming is everybody's issue. We may not all face racism, sexism or poverty but we all live on Earth and that’s more than a good enough reason to pay attention to global warming. Hopefully within the next few generations global warming is taken more seriously so that we can try and stop more damage from being done. It is the responsibility of all people living on this planet to protect it, because environmental catastrophes can affect all countries. There is no place on Earth that is exempt from mother nature's wrath and once the damage is done it takes decades to
The world’s climate is changing, and the effects of it will not only affect the inhabitants and the planet, but also humans. Everyone usually only pays attention to the weather on a weekly or even a monthly basis. However, humans don’t pay attention to the changes that they are causing. Very few people actually accept that they are the ones who are causing it and that they are also the ones that can help with the issue. It is time to take action on this problem that will only continue to cause horrible consequences and the only way to do that is having humans change their ways. Even starting with the smallest way can have a dramatic change if everyone is doing it.
The irony in this statement explains how Kelly tries to persuade the audiences that if they do not change anything they will allow an evil thing continue and they will all have a responsibility and fault for allowing these abominable events happen, along with the factory workers. How can people live with themselves knowing that they can make a difference and change the world, but instead do nothing? The understanding of why people decide to not care if they can make a difference is unknown; the people that don’t care should feel ashamed. The oxymoron in the speech, Kelly uses as a way to persuade the audience by keeping the audience interested in the main point, in a deep sarcastic
Today, there are already organizations promoting awareness of global warming and trying to make our thoughts to one. In Sweden, they produce environmentally friendly cars and give big tax; In Great Britain, they build a lot of windmills; Australia banned the sale of incandescent light bulbs and started a program called Proarbol to help stop deforestation and to increase jungles in Mexico. Countries including Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, EU, India, Indonesia, Russia, South Africa and America have set goals to reduce green house gas emission or carbon emission by a certain amount until 2020. If there’s a problem, solutions defiantly exist and all we need is a little more consideration during everyday life. Things you can do are to set you’re A.C higher, take public transportation, start using renewable energy and encourage others around you, don’t pour oil or paint into sinks, donate for eco friendly groups, don’t litter in public areas and promote the cause to people around you. Bigger things the government can do is to establish protected wild-life areas and parks, limit road constructions, reduce deforestation, build more schools, fight wrong information and to prepare for impacts. Since human can create
It takes a significant incident for others to understand that change is needed. An example Ornstein and Ehrlich uses in the book, “ Cancer terrifies us, yet we keep smoking (ch1-3).” Everyone thinks they are invincible and will be one of the ones that cancer slides right past. The reality is, cancer is real and could be lurking at the door any moment. It takes the doctor telling one that he or she has cancer for a reaction to occur. This is how people see everyday life. It takes a school shooting to occur for the school to set up a prevention plan and a sex addict to be told he has AIDS. Humans are the number one ingredient for world disaster. The only ones who can destroy the world faster than ever thought
The rise of sea level and global warming has become a much more serious problem right now. This problem has drawn international attention, because higher sea levels in the future would cause great damages not only in coastal area, but also in various parts of the world. We have already seen thousands of people call and lead people to protect our environment and eliminate the emission of greenhouse gases. We could lose our planet as well based on what we did. We really have to take action to prevent the dangerous outcomes happen in the future, otherwise the more people’s life would be inflected and
With proof that our water levels are rising, our temperatures are rising, and our ice caps are melting should show that this is a problem that needs fixed above all. We need to start saving our planet. We should set laws, try our best personally to reduce our carbon footprint and try to make our atmosphere better. With help from people around the world we can stop climate change and help this planet for the better. We should invest our money in alternative power, conduct more research about the chemicals we are putting into our atmosphere, protect the oceans, and put regulations on companies that produce power or materials that release carbon or methane into the atmosphere. Stopping climate change will not be easy. Every single country on the planet has to participate in the clean up but with your help, we will be able to convince every country and every government that this problem needs to be fixed and fixed
Global warming should be one of the gravest concerns to the future of human kind and making an effort on every individual level will decrease the factors that have the greatest impact such as combustion emissions and hazardous chemicals. No scientist would deny the increase and temperature and none would stop at even saying that the problem will only increase exponentially. Along with greenhouse gases and CFC (Chloroflorocarbons) humans must realize that they are very significantly at the heart of the crisis. Not only does this threaten coastline properties and the health of the planet overall, habitats
Global warming is not the same anymore. We humans have changed earth in maybe different ways, from breeding different species together to changing the blueprints of DNA. These changes have help our race survive and make our lives easier. In the other hand, it’s not so good for the environment. For example, the oceans are meant to sustain aquatic life and help in the water cycle. The ocean is supposed to be a big beautiful clear blue body of water. Instead it's full of waste and trash because of garbage we throw around the ground that ends up into the ocean. Not only that but we also affect the ocean’s color, we have many accidents with oil spills. This happens when a boat's engine burst or other enginee relative accidents in the ocean. These incidents also kill million of aquatic species.
The global climate change is affecting all of us in general. People are in denial and think that it
Climate change is a worldwide issue. Not only is firm action and leadership critical in the United States, but also international efforts need to work toward reducing emissions. Strong public demand for climate change is crucial to enact effective global warming solutions for the future. Unless immediate action is taken, climate change will continue to escalate and continue to affect the entire planet. Ways nations and individuals can help repair the earth's atmosphere is reduce air pollution, use green energy, stop deforestation. Reducing air pollution could have a dramatic effect on climate change. Humans could impact this reduction by simple things such as conserving
The world is warming and we cannot deny it, the longer we deny the larger the problem it will become. Global warming is affecting the world economy, the overall health of the population, and most importantly the environment that surrounds us. Ignoring this problem will not just make it suddenly disappear; the world has to make an effort to stop it while it can still be maintained. Accepting the fact that it is happening is just the first step, the next step is taking action and becoming informed on the issue.
Have you noticed it has been a bit hotter outside lately? Have you seen on the news that sea levels are rising? Did you know global warming affects animals? Do you want to know a couple of things to do to help stop global warming? I want you to help stop global warming.
The Earth is a dynamic, constantly changing environment in which the hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere all interact. When one changes slightly the change is then felt through out the spheres. Humans need to understand that the change they cause can have a potential for a disastrous affect on the environment. From injecting the atmosphere with greenhouse gas, or deforestation, all the unnatural things done to the environment will have an unnatural affect that will have to be dealt with. We as humans have a moral responsibility to reduce global warming gasses by changing our modes of transportation, to stop deforestation, and increase government funding into research to inhibit global warming for
