The Earth, the most important thing to all living organisms. The Earth provides organisms with plants that produce food to eat The earth provides with water to drink. Earth has been a giving planet. Everything organisms have needed to survive, and thrive, was provided by the natural world around us: food, water, medicine, materials for shelter, and even natural cycles such as climate and nutrients. Specifically humans would do anything to protect this commodity. However recently many things have occurred during the past few hundred years of the existence of Earth. the Industrial Revolution start of all the problems, it resulted with a large production of commercially advertised items, due to the large demand
Thank you very much for your generosity! Honestly, there are no words to accurately express my humble gratitude for this remarkable gift offered by you, Marion and Anne Williams. I'm soon to be an undergraduate at Virginia Tech, and I plan to both major in Astronautical Engineering and minor in Computer Science. Ever since my early childhood, I've always been fascinated by the unknowns of space. For instance, it's quite hard to imagine looking at something as massive as Jupiter when you're only given images on Google. Although the images are tremendous, just looking at the planet with your very own eyes could make an astronaut out of anyone. Yet, I'm not actually looking forward to be an astronaut. It's been my dream to work at NASA, but it's

Have you ever been daring enough to think outside the box or do something out of the ordinary? Maybe you have, or maybe you’ve been too scared to do it. Someone who wasn’t afraid was Amelia Earhart. She did something no one else had done or attempted to do before. Amelia Earhart, daring and outgoing from the start of her life, achieved many things, which is why she should be remembered because, indeed, flying is what ended her life.
The articles “The Climate Crisis at the End of Our Fork” by Anna Lappe and “Why Bother?” by Michael Pollan urge us to see the connections between food and the environment. In the article “The Climate Crisis at the End of Our Fork”, Lappe insists the methods used in food production and distribution have a massive impact on the planet. In the article “Why Bother”, Pollan provides us reasons why people should bother to help stop global warming. There are three main causes between food production and food distribution that play a big role in global warming. Changing the way food is produced and distributed could diminish the dangerous effects of global warming. However, in order to stop global warming everyone has to assist as a group instead of individuals.

Even though Betsy Ross is best known for creating and sewing the American flag, this has never been officially proven. However, there is a great amount of evidence that she was very influential in the making of the flag. These words by her say it all, “Our hearts aching, our prayers praying, our flags waving, never forget.”1
The transition from the traditional hunter gatherer societies, in to an agriculture based living system, has allowed humans to increase their population size, putting strains on the Earth’s environment. Agriculture has also brought along with it a decrease in women’s roles in the community, while also bringing about a class system where the wealthy rule, and were the weak and poor obey. As humans began to domesticate more plants and animals, they settled in permanent areas. The Change from hunter gatherer benefited few, but had dire consequences for the earth and groups with in it. One such consequence was the population increase, which has lead to major issues throughout history, and one that has ties to current global issues.
In the TEDx Talk “The Magic of Not Giving a F***”, Sarah Knight guides the audience through her journey to living a carefree life where she is happy because as the title says she doesn’t “give a f***”. She does this by doing what she would prefer to do with her time and money, if there is an option to do so. She tells the audience her experiences and later goes on to teach and guide the audience through the process of not “giving a f***” or say no to things they don’t want to do in a polite and honest manner so that they too can live a carefree life like her if they so desire it. In a brief analysis of the different modes of persuasion, ethos, pathos, and logos her speech was very interesting and had many strong points; however, there were points throughout the speech that really did detract from the overall quality of the speech and potentially the affected the experience of the listeners as well.
The session that I attended was Dolores Huerta speech, which was very interesting. In 1976 Barbara Jordan, Congresswoman from Texas, became the first African American woman to deliver a keynote address at a major party convention in the US. She was aware of the significance and symbolism of the moment. Referencing the first Democratic convention of 1832, she said, “A lot of years passed since 1832, and during that time it would have been most unusual for any national political party to ask a Barbara Jordan to deliver a keynote address.” For Jordan, her presence at the convention was “evidence that the American Dream need not be forever deferred.”

Barbara Bush gave a speech unlike any other, a speech to an audience that had gone as far as to protest her even coming to speak to the point where her husband the President of the United States had to stand up for her (Eidenmuller). A speech that combined the use of Aristotle's Ethos, Pathos, and Logos in such a manner that each aspect grew the next. As one aspect developed in her speech it boosted the other up as well, allowing her to come from behind and present the True American Dream - the individual's personal dream. To an audience that despite her individual accomplishments looked down on her because of her Title First Lady.
