The American Civil War was the deadliest warfare in American history soil; leaving approximately 620 thousand dead and over 300 thousand wounded. One would ask, who or what was the massive roles that played? During the nineteenth century, as the newborn nation, United States used racial identity, such as slaves or free blacks, and firearms were involved in the Civil War. I believe through this research paper, my learning from my K-12 schooling has not change significantly. Racial Identity is added to slavery or free back. So, slaves from the Northern and Southern states were in the conflict of the Civil War. In the seventeenth century, slavery had existed in the New World; moreover, the social and political were less concerned about slavery. Slaves, in that time, were indentured servants, which meant slaves would be set free after dealing with the owner’s debt. Although, some slaves had white servants, that change, Africans were exclusively being treated as slaves for life. Slaves became more in harm during the Atlantic Slave trade, as they work in plantation ( U.S. History OpenStax). In contrast, the Slave Trade Act of 1807, restricted imports of slaves to America, because the North neglected the issue of slavery during the American Revolution, which did not stop slave trading.
