The boys have stayed on this island for almost 3 months with no adults at all. Ralph was sitting on a burnt tree trunk thinking while the navy officer was waiting for the cruise ship to come close to the island. The rest were standing together half naked on the beach and in the sun.

How would you survive if you were on an island with other little kids? Lord of the Flies was written during World War 2 however it was based during the Cold War. Ralph, a major character in the novel, allegorically represents the leader of the rest of the boys. Ralph believes he is the leader over everyone else. Ralph believes that he is the leader and feels like he has something to prove, ignores what Jack and his tribe thinks, and acts different from
President Obama was not taken seriously or thought to be able to run a country at the beginning of his term based on the color of his skin. He had to work harder than anyone else to prove that he is skilled enough for the job. Just like President Obama, Ralph feels the need to prove himself as worthy enough to lead the boys on the island. Writer, William Golding, shows Ralph’s views on challenges faced on the island, appealing to his young audience by giving them more of an insight on Ralph. Golding signifies Ralph’s views through imagery in order to show his own place on the island physically and mentally.
This demonstrate the change of Ralph when he first arrived at the island he was a confident boy who believed that his father who is in the navy will come and save them and the meantime he will enjoy the island, which he then at the end he found himself. By the change of it when he thought that being honest with everyone one the island was the good thing but over the course of the story he was then to realized that wasn't true. Also at the end the book when Ralph sees the officer, his sudden realized that at the cost of his innocence he had taken part of one of the boy called Simon death, also the witnesses of Piggy death and the realization the piggy he never bother to found out his name was actually the only he could called his friend. Even though Ralph is a young teenage boy he still possesses the characteristics of a grown man. He shows us courage, responsibility, strength, hard work, and most importantly leadership. One nautical day everything changed for Ralph and his schoolmates after becoming stranded on an uninhabited island out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The boys claim they were shot down, but no one knows for sure what had happened. Somehow everyone survives the plane crash except for the pilot which means the youngsters were without any adult supervision. Ralph’s childishness was soon to show as he runs around cheering with his clothes off. In the book Ralph is distinguished as a handsome fair looking boy with blond hair and gold looking
Ralph felt like that he was free for the first time. Ralph feels like that he could do anything he wants since there because no was in charge of him. He was alone in the island with no adults around to boss him. Even though there were no adult around to take care of him, he got to be in charge. He felt like that everything would turn out good because he knew someone would go looking for him.
They want to know if there are any adults on the island as well so they look for the cockpit of the plane to see if any adults survived the crash. They see smoke where the cockpit could have landed so Jack Ralph and a few others went to check it out and see if there are others. They venture up the mountain toward the smoke, on there way up they find a little cave and Jack thinks it’s a good spot to set up camp but Ralph begs to differ. Ralph says they should all stay together on the beach and not split up. Jack gets a little upset but eventually gets over it. Then this new character Roger is way childish and goofier than any other kid on the island. He picks up rocks and starts throwing them at trees and other things. When they get to the smoke the children find a dead pilot and find out there aren't any adults on the island at all. Then piggy says “what happened to them, where are they now” (Golding 8).
So far Ralph has been organized and thoughtful of his situation, but that's not how he was the whole book.
Being stranded on a deserted island gives life to an abundance of problems. Ralph and the other boys have to deal with a multitude of survival problems such as maintaining a fire or building shelters; furthermore holding a leadership position among prepubescent is equally as challenging. Piggy and the “littluns” are on the receiving end of an abusive relation with the older boys. However, their roles in the group, intrinsically speaking, are not as significant as Ralph’s. As a result Ralph has to carefully consider the consequences of each and every one of his actions. This puts Ralph in a difficult situation because he has to deal with disobedient boys like Jack, all the while, he has to think of ways to ensure the group’s survival; even
From the very beginning Ralph was chief, he was the one that most everyone wanted. Ralph was reasonable, understanding, realistic and had a plan for recuse. The first big thing that he did was decide that the fire would always be burning invade sailors saw the smoke. This was a big deal that no one else seemed to think of. Ralph had good ideas, like building the huts for the sense of home and safety. He used the conch as a way to show democracy. Ralph wanted everyone to work together as a group, like a proper civilization. Even when everyone seem to be scared or worried, Ralph seemed to have a level head and could make the decisions that no one else could. Besides Piggy and Sameric, Ralph stayed away from the untamed, savage tribe like lifestyle
For my mask I chose the topic of Ralph’s transition. The mask portrays Ralph’s savagery breaking through his civility. The topic of Ralph’s transition was chosen for a particular reason. That reason being that in the beginning he had the most resources and the most people willing to abide by him yet he still managed to lose sight of the main objective and become savage towards the end of the novel. It is easy to lose sight of main objectives when put in power, but when the lives of others, as well as your own, hang in the balance there is no room to mess up. Even towards the end of the novel when almost everyone left him he still had Piggy and Samneric. Before I chose Ralph as my topic, i considered choosing the theme of savage versus civil
You should never abandon your friends. Ralph had a plan and he wanted to make it work, so all the kids could go home, but most of the kids abandoned Ralph and went to be savages on the island. They nearly killed Ralph, although he helped them to get rescued.
Thirdly, Ralph is the most admirable character because he is determined. Every one on the island knows Ralph is a good leader. He is responsible, civilized and nice so why would he not be a leader? In the novel, he sides with Piggy and never leaves his side even though everyone else has. When he has beliefs he sticks to it and never changes his idea no matter how much he is hated for it. He demonstrates obvious common sense and very intelligent. He comes up with the idea to start a fire with Piggy’s glasses and to make huts to sleep. He wants to get rescued and is focused on getting there, in the novel, his first priorities are the fire and getting rescued. "I'm chief," said Ralph, "because you chose me. And we were going to keep the
In Lord of the Flies, a plane with adults and children crashes over the Pacific, leaving only a group of six to twelve year-olds boys left on an island to fight on their own. Soon after most of the boys found each other, a democratic government is then quickly established where the leader is voted on. By majority, the group chose Ralph, who they thought would lead them to survival and rescue. After wandering around Ralph determines that the island is
