Raymond's Run Analysis

Squeaky protects her older brother Raymond by standing up for him whenever someone tries to make fun of him. When Mary asked what grade he was in and, then Squeaky said if you got anything to say you say it to me to. From Squeaky’s actions, it can be seen that she wanted them to treat him like a normal person.

So at the end of the book “Raymond’s Run” during Squeaky’s track meet against Gretchen she sees Raymond climbing a fence and running with her she couldn’t believe her eyes Raymond was running just as fast as her and when Squeaky finished the race Raymond started rung again and Squeaky was ecstatic

Do you think that Raymond will be a runner like Squeaky. Me personally I do think he will be a good runner and he learns from watching squeaky and practicing with her every day. Raymond wants to be like squeaky as you can tell if you read the passage when it says he copied her every move before the race started. If squeaky showed and teaches him what she know he will be even faster than he already is. The faster Raymond get he will have a better chance of winning a race.

In the story it say that Raymond always keep up with Squeaky when she does her running. It also say that when Squeaky was getting ready for her race Raymond copied everything she did when she was getting ready. Squeaky loved to run. For example, she ran every day she ran with her mom while shopping she ran whenever she could. She was so good she stated that she had won every race since first grade. In the story “Raymond’s run” I predict Raymond would be a great runner like his sister, Squeaky. One thing that Squeaky learned about Raymond is that he’s a great runner also. Squeaky was very excited when she found out, because it meant something special to their family tradition. Now that Squeaky has actually noticed he was great I think both Squeaky and Gretchen might actually start training him into a great runner. I also think squeaky was surprised based on his mental condition.

Squeaky had one job. That was to watch her brother Raymond. She had to watch him because he had special needs. Although she had to watch him, she would run. Running was her passion. She ran as much as she could. She Even practiced while shopping with her mom. She had a race coming up in the neighborhood, and she heard that her enemy Gretchen was going to be in the race.
