They expressed a worldwide view of the Egyptians. First of all, they were symbols of the pharaoh's authority and divine status. It reflects hierarchical status. In the Egyptian society there were slaves, the commoners, the pharaohs. If you were to put them in order the top of the pyramid would the pharaohs below them the commoners, then slaves and so forth. The most important one would be on the top which is the pharaohs. Also, it was a testimony of the pharaoh's ability to marshal Egypt's resources. Their worldview was very religious too. Pyramids were used for tombs for pharaohs. The pyramids were a symbol of a gateway of the next life meaning that the people put to rest in a pyramid had somehow gained the opportunity at immortality. The things left inside the pyramid, such as vases and artwork, buried with the body were things that the Egyptians thought the pharaoh could bring with them to the afterlife. This brought another meaning to having a pyramid. It was used as a place to keep the pharaoh’s things for his second life. Clifford Wilson’s theory is the best because he illustrates how the pyramids were built and provides the evidence to prove his theory, however; this is unlike Joseph Davidovits’ theory because Davidovits does not fully answer questions that arise concerning his theory. The three theories have similar points, but contain very different ideas on the construction of the Great Pyramid.      According to Egyptian and Sumerian mythology, there was a battle between two families of gods for supremacy and control over the ancient lands and the pyramids of Giza were strategic strongholds for the gods. This paper will attempt to give a more logical solution to the methods ancient Egyptians may have had used, and the problems they may have had, using factual information, scientific evidence and a bit of common sense.

The pyramids explain an abundance of information on about how the people of ancient egypt saw their pharaohs and queens. Inducing years and years of back-breaking labor to build structures that have people today still in awe. Historians still argue about who actually built the pyramids; due to the fact that they are so gigantic, some believe that the ancient egyptians could not have possibly built the pyramids by themselves based on the size of the pyramids and the lack of technology they were using. However, Mark Lehner, archeologist at the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago and Harvard Semitic Museum, thinks that the people of ancient egypt built the pyramids to show their respect to the pharaohs and queens who ruled over them. “Every time I go back to Giza my respect increases for those people and that society, that they could do it. You see, to me it 's even more fascinating that they did this. And that by doing this they contributed something to the human career and its overall development.” Mark Lehner 's statement shows that the ancient Egyptian culture admired their leaders more than any other culture did at the time. Although the pyramids have no blueprints of the tremendous build. There is still accounts of the tools,roads,and records of worker being there at the time of the construction period it was built. Some think the blueprints got (blown away in the wind) or lost over time even destroyed for reasons.The fact of no blueprints shows that there may have been a secret of making a 8 sided pyramid for reason.

This research is on the Ancient Egyptian Culture. Ancient Egypt was located in Northeastern Africa along the Nile River. Egypt was divided into Upper and Lower Egypt from 5000 to 2950 BC; the unification of Egypt was around 3000 BC. Ancient Egypt was around until about 50 BC. The Egyptians are known for many accomplishments; they include: their complex irrigation system, hieroglyphics, and the practice of medicine, the calendar, their art, and the construction of the pyramids. The pyramids were built as monuments to honor the dead. There are many mysteries concerning the construction of the pyramids. This research will be directed towards the Great Pyramids at Giza. The pyramids are a very interesting subject matter because they are gigantic structures that were constructed by only the minds of early architects and the hands of many workers. This research will cover the ideas of how these Great Pyramids were constructed.
