The first being that the Uber/Lyft driver knows what they are doing in addition, they understand how to treat their passengers.Secondly, the passengers understand that time is the most important factor i.e. waiting time and travel time. Knowing these two facts, most of the passengers that have entered my vehicle have stated that either Uber or Lyft tend to have more of a sense of urgency than a Cab service, such as showing up quickly. Which lends to why less people are utilizing their services and more using either Lyft or Uber. However, not all have a concept of this urgency when it comes to meeting their Uber/Lyft driver. I find that some tend to go beyond the 5 minute timer and lollygag around before they venture out of their houses or apartments to get in the car. In Singapore, the taxi industry was highly regulated and organized. Drivers are required to hold a valid Taxi Driver's Vocational License which could be obtained after completing their training course at the Singapore Taxi Academy and passing a theory test. Comparatively, Taiwan drivers only need to pass a basic driving test to become a cabbie. This difference in credentials shows the control and regulatory differences between the two cultures in the taxi industry. As a result of the rules and regulations in Singapore and the lack of rules and regulations in Taiwan, the regions gain two completely different types of taxi drivers. The Singapore taxi industry acquires employees that are professional and dedicated to their job because they see it as a career. The drivers there plan on staying in the profession for an extended period of time. In Taiwan the lack of rules and regulation in obtaining professional licenses
“Lyft is all about taking cars off the road via ridesharing. This is NOT merely a cool new use of technology to efficiently onboard and route more cars, cabs, town cars and limos. Lyft wants to use technology to get everyone who currently owns a car to join a trusted information network to share rides.” – Scott Weis, 2013
Uber as a business have conducted and implemented many harmful tactics and policies. Being able to call a cab using an app on your phone sounds great, but there are many impacts on the cities they exist in. Nicole Gelinas argues in her article “Better Mass Transit Is the Real Solution to Congestion,” that Uber causes more problems that New York City hopes to solve. Uber is a company that employs their own workers to act as a taxi service for people that use their app. Using your phone you can hire a cab driver to pick you up at your current location. Although this may be convenient for many people, it actually causes a lot more traffic in New York City which they are trying to reduce while improving mass transit.
Uber, following numerous complaints made by drivers, is rolling out numerous features to give drivers more control. In major cities across the globe today, many rely on the services of both taxicabs and Uber. Both allow users to reach their destination in a timely manner, but one service reigns supreme. The regulations and training requirements make tax far superior to Uber. Uber lacks the same levels of training and regulations one must possess in order to be a driver as compared to taxicabs. Some of the rules one must follow in order to be a driver of a taxicab are as follows: one must have a knowledgeable understanding of the streets they are navigating, one must dress nicely and professionally, and one must follow the provided rules in the guidebook. By using these rules and regulations, drivers are able to provide individuals with a safe and comfortable

In a study conducted by Business Insider, Uber is a cheaper in the top 20 cities except for New York, where it ties (Silverstein). However, this is after including a customary 20% tip for taxi drivers, which is uncommon among Uber. Additionally, the study was conducted using a 5 mile, 10 minute trip that drives 30 mph the whole way, which shows that this covers only a small part of what most trips are like. Moreover, pricing changes with each different type of ride because of different mileage and time not moving, so the results of this narrow spectrum study is deemed

Chauffeur Companies are a creative idea, it comes in handy for families that are always busy. “As children head back to school, we’re seeing a lot of interest, and activity,” Allen explains, this claim proves that there is a percentage of families turning to chauffeur companies to drive their kids to school and back.
