In the cool mist of that morning, the aroma of the freshly fallen birch tree filled the air against the smoky atmosphere. The birds were singing a melancholic tune. But off by the distance, a beaver was working. As the beaver finished gnawing on the twigs, it began to put them together on its dam. Seeing that the birch tree was not enough, the beaver went off into the forest to find more trees. As the beaver walked across the road, causing habitat fragmentation, a strong gust of wind caused a bag to smack into the beaver’s face, choking it. Removing off the bag with the help of the wind, it escapes death and reaches the other side of the road. Luckily for the beaver, the road doesn’t cause much problem for it. But as for the others, it has …show more content…
The birds were singing a melancholic tune. But off by the distance, a Red Maple was working. Photosynthesizing in the sun was a young Red Maple. As the it is photosynthesizing, it is contributing to the carbon cycle. The carbon cycle is essential to the Red Maple’s life to which it is the source of its food and life. Then came a strong gust of wind that made its leaves surfing in the air. As the gust of wind passes, a bag is caught on its branch. As if the wind was a messenger, the tree knew what was coming.
As minutes pass by, a beaver comes upon the Red Maple. Luckily for the Red Maple, its chemicals act as a repellant. As the beaver walks away, the Red Maple continues on its work. As if the wind was a messenger, the tree knew that it had only a short amount of time left before it would rain. The leaves of the Maple begins to droop as the clouds begin to cover the sky. But also covering the sky was truck exhaust. To the left and right of the Red Maple, trees were being cut down. Deforestation has come with urbanization, a rate of 1.02%. Deforestation has caused habitat destruction, forcing many animals to be moved. The biodiversity of the dead forest is not
At dawn, on April 19, 1775, about 700 British troops arrived in Lexington, afterward stormed to Concord. The Regulars, also called redcoats, tried to find our hidden weapons. They advanced to Lexington first. Luckily, 77 militiamen came to our aid. Yet the Regulars made it past Lexington, only to find difficulty in Concord. They would have not known if not for Paul Revere and William Dawes. They were spies who found out the Redcoats’ plan. Paul Revere gotten captured, however William Dawes went to warn Concord. As the Redcoats came into Lexington, it became utterly quiet. Then, without warning, somebody fired. It was unclear who did, nevertheless you and I shall bet it was the Redcoats. Eight of our militiamen were killed, while ten was injured.
There was a red white and blue crown of the ancient egypt. The white crown became preferred as a headdress of egyptian and another fact is that the white crown is from lower egypt. The red crown was from upper egypt, also the red crown may have been made out of copper. The blue crown was originally a battle crown and may have been doubled as a helmet. The first pharaoh that wore the blue crown was Amenhotep. The crown became popular when the age of empire when some pharaohs were depicted.
Day after day, more and more trees were cut down for the small business, until one day there were no animals left in the forest, and no more trees were either. This was an human event, because due to the human owned lumber shop, the trees were all used up. There once was a forest full of animals. One day, an earthquake occurred and the tiger species were all wiped out, while all of the other species survived and left the place. After 5 years, all of the species that once inhabited the place came back, besides the tigers. This goes to show how nature events also cause ecosystems/habitats to be
The affect of environmental issues occur everyday and in particular deforestation is becoming a highly ranked subject. From animals to the human race, the alacrity of trees that are cut down affects every individual in a variety of ways. Not only do people need to help the planet but they need to help themselves and further generations to come, such as children and grandchildren because these natural resources that are being taken away from society are as well shaping the future. For comprehensible reasons, forests use to make up the world, until man made creatures started to destroy and destruct the most important supply to human kind which are trees. Trees are crucial to every living entity for the reason of providing oxygen to all.
The color red is more than just a color. Certain colors can revoke emotions and feeling. For example, black symbolizes darkness, sadness, and emptiness. Blue illustrates sadness and loneliness. Red, however, is a representation of passion, love, and ander. It is the strong passion that is felt by people doing the things that they love. Red is the feeling that people get when they see their loved ones. It is the anger and jealousy felt . Red is more than just a color, it is a feeling.
Every year an area of rainforest the size of New Jersey is cut down and destroyed. The plants and animals that used to live in these trees either die or must find a new forest to call their home.
Some of the trees on earth have existed for longer than three thousand years. They have lived across history from even before the days of Jesus Christ. God has provided these trees with his care and has protected them from natural disasters. He saved them from everything ranging from droughts to floods. Yet, the Almighty wasn’t able to provide them with immunity from the foolishness and shortsightedness of man. The development of humanity and technology is causing the destruction of the nature in order to have big investments. This process of destruction is called “ deforestation” which is going to by my choice of topic for this paper. Deforestation is the elimination of a forest or stand of trees where the land is thereafter converted to a non forest use. Examples of deforestation include conversion of forestland to farms, ranches, or urban use. The reason I chose this topic is because we are clearly noticing that our nature is in big danger through the destruction of forest and trees which increased my curiosity to know the reason behind this and maybe find a solution for it.
The loss of forest cover is a contributing factor to many environmental problems, including species extinction (Unraveling the Economics of Deforestation). Rainforests are home to countless species of animals, many of which are endangered. While in the United States there are laws like the Endangered Species Act. Trees are still being torn down in enormous quantities, humans are destroying the homes of every species that may live there. When taking into consideration that
The scale and pace of change is dramatic; for example, the extinction of species is occurring at around 100-fold pre-human rates4. The population sizes of vertebrate species have, on average, declined by half over the last 45 years5. More than 2.3 million km2 of primary forest has been felled since 20006. About
“If the current rate of deforestation continues, the world’s forests will vanish within 100 years-causing unknown effects on global climate and eliminating the majority of plant and animal species on the
Resting underneath the shade of the trees, I found myself appreciating the scent of pine needles; the ambiance of Christmas. Encompassed by the thick heavy air, I watched as a single sparrow fluttered high above the emerald forest. A few feet next to me an eager chipmunk hastily scampered from tree to tree, awaiting the chill of winter. The forest, I realized, was home to many wild creatures. In giving protection and food, the forest was gladly rewarded with the company of these animals. Beyond the horizon, I could see the community of newly formed saplings. They appeared as little children, learning under the guidance of their grown and fully matured parents.
Deforestation is the process of cutting down and burning the trees in forest and urbanizing the land. It is proven by data that forests have a shocking impact towards the planet, and modern day life. According to “Bradford, Alina”, “Around 50 percent of the planet's wild forests are gone, If the trend continues, we will only have 10 percent left by 2030.” (Bradford) Leaving different species of animals without shelters. The destruction of forests around the world is ongoing nonstop, lowering land quality and life for not only people, but also animals, in which we have to take action before it is too late.
According to the World Wildlife Foundation, deforestation throughout the world is getting a much bigger problem than before. A forest is vital to humans, as well as animals’ survival on Earth. The major effects of deforestation are ultimately the destruction of animals’ habitats. Deforestation as well disrupts humans lives as well, especially those who rely on hunting and gathering items from these forests. Therefore, deforestation is killing our Earth, destroying our animals’ habitats, and affecting humans lives as well.
Today, about thirty percent of our planet is covered by trees. These trees bring us oxygen, wildlife and stabilize our earth’s soil. The problems we are now facing are the effects of deforestation. Clear cutting through trees is very harmful to our environment and is one of the leading causes of global warming (National Geographic). It also tampers with the quality of Earth’s soil, leading to landslides and future problems in regrowth of new trees. On top of all this, our wildlife is decreasing from the deforestation of their habitats.
The world has relied on deforestation for many generations as a power source, human migration, or clearings for agriculture. The removal of these forested areas, without sufficiently replanting or by first incorporating proper consideration of all affected living things in the area will result in a complete disregard of any laws protecting the habitat. In conserving natural forested areas, economic planning, and biodiverse offsetting will help in controlling human-induced acts causing climate change and the extinction of many species of wildlife.
