This can be how to figure out if someone is thinking creatively. Creativity is applying your knowledge that you already have to think about something in a different light and solve a problem. If any one person looks at an American high school, they will notice there is large amount of standardized tests. This doesn't just start in the later years of learning. I remember starting to take standardized tests in the third grade, when I was eight. Looking back now, I can easily complete it, but at the time, I felt like it was impossible. Results came back the next year, and I was qualified as an average math student; not the worst thing in the world, but it sure felt like it at the time, because I wanted to be the best as I could, as everyone should. For the longest time, I felt as if I were bad at math. This continued for years despite the fact that I was taking classes two years ahead of my grade level. But still I struggled with the question of: How will I use this? Why am I taking this as a class; it is useless? Standardized testing teaches students to take tests. The average student takes about 113 tests from kindergarten to 12th grade.

Why do students think these are hard if you just think and do it things in life will be so much easier when you grow up but students think standardized tests are lame and boring because they just want to act cool around their friends. Some people think that doing standardized tests are boring and dumb, and others disagree and say that the tests help you get better in school and help you in the future. I believe schools should have their students do the standardized tests so they get better grades and get a better education in school. Exams are like your girlfriend. They ask way too many questions, they are difficult to understand, there is always more explanation needed, and of course the result is you always fail. I like to think this accurately describes how most people feel about standardized tests, but then again, I don't really think people ever feel fondly about a standardized tests. Now we have taken standardized test since elementary school so why do we all still suck at them? Let’s face it America has a pretty bad average on test taking skills. Ever since elementary school we have had to take tests. Most of these tests were simple and only had to do with one subject. Other tests are rather large and consist of multiple subject and there is alloted time to take these tests. These tests are standard tests that are mandatory for everyone in school to take. The purpose of the tests is to measure how well your education is going. Since you take them year after year you can see how you are progressing in your intelligence. The only problem is that there is an enormous amount of weight placed on doing well on these tests. Therefore classes give tests with similar format and questions. Students are also taught to be good test takers. With all this testing there can be unnecessary stress put on students and teachers out of fear of doing poorly. Standardized testing, while a good measurement of learning, often puts more stress on students than necessary.
