Evidence 2a is an email form the College Recruiter at Community College of Aurora, and my response to his email. I welcomed Noel to my class and he presented about various post-secondary education opportunities to my students who are enrolled for concurrent classes. He talked about various opportunities including ASCENT program, grants, internships, and other programs. The students were very happy to learn about various programs from Community College of Aurora to help students for higher
These programs have helped me in multiple ways in order to help me grow as a student. As you can see, I am qualified to attend this school, and I am going to work hard as a student
There isn't anything more important to community colleges than the certainty that they can and should provide all qualified people who are looking to be accepted with admittance (Vaughan). The people of the community college represent forty-four percent of all undergraduates and forty-nine percent of students attending college for the first time (David). These students include a lot of minority students, students with a low social standing and the non-standard (age twenty-five and older) student who commonly enters college less academically equipped (David). Most community colleges have made immense advancement in reducing a lot of geographical and economic blockades that have in the past limited college admittance (David). Community
A section of recommendation one is to “increase completion rates of students earning community college credentials (certificates and associate degrees) by fifty percent by 2020.” (AACC, 2012 p. 26). Although recommendation one is certainly obtainable, completing the goal by 2020 is doubtful. As an administrator, in order to see a goal this large come to manifestation, everyone has to get on the bus, and asking the same question “who” instead of “what” – then, and only then will a goal this large will manifest ( Collins, 2001). However, utilizing particular strategies to accomplish the goal will help toward achieving the goal. In doing that, students would be served more effectively and more efficiently, because staff and faculty would be more intentional regarding the service rendered.
“The Early College High School will genuinely engage first-generation college-bound students to complete a rigorous curriculum, supported by technology, that is clearly aligned to student interest and state standards. Flexible coursework will be provided in a challenging and supportive environment with an applied learning focus that provides students a structure that enables them to earn their high school diploma and to overlap those efforts with those needed to earn an associate degree, leading to a bachelor degree and employment.”
upon question number one of the Comprehensive Examination, I would like to present to you “General and Applied Knowledge of Higher and Community College Education as a Field of Study / Discipline” which can be used as an approach to transforming Community College’s into institutions that are more learning-centered institutions for the current and future benefit of our students. With the assistance of factors such as Admissions, Financial Resources, Student Populations and The Role of The President and The Board of Trustees playing key roles in the transformation of Community Colleges, I believe that low academic performance of students will improve in American education. According to Antonio, A., Kirst, M., & Venezia, A. (1997), a major
Capital Community College will support these young men striving for academic excellence by creating relaxed collegiate environment that will allow for and academic success in conjunction with a by tailor made college curriculum. The prospective data provided by (M.A.L.E.S.) members will trustingly with confidence provide three conclusions. (1) The importance of establishing trustworthy relationships with faculty and administration is vital for perseverance to graduate or transfer. (2) Having the ambition to communicate with faculty, students, and staff is critical for to avoid attrition factors such as academic probation. (3) M.A.L.E.S. members need to copperhead the expectations of each instructor and that each course will be different.
This renewed emphasis on collaboration as recommended by R.I.S.E. has resulted in developing workshops emphasizing college-related issues, such as: how to write statement essays, how and whom to ask for recommendations, preparing for tests, and applying for financial aid. At these workshops, counselors and faculty wear something that represents what college they attended. This provides a visual representation of the college and helps to lay further a foundation of the college-going culture. CUSD has furthered the collaboration between CCC and CUSD by having a CCC counselor on each high school campus once per week to provide opportunities for students to have “drop-in one-on-one” sessions with college counselors to supplement the use of installed kiosks. As a result, CUSD has seen an increase in student visits, applications, and acceptance to two-year colleges and four-year universities.
The unity of biblical text and empirical evidence are two credible arguments supporting the reliability of scripture. First, the unity of the Bible is a solid argument. Many people study the Bible for strictly historical purposes. For example, Mark Strauss says, “They’re (cynics) looking at these documents as just historical documents” (A.C.E Video). However, even cynics will find that the subject of Jesus Christ and the redemption of mankind are consistent themes within its pages. This is remarkable, especially since most of the writings were drafted generations apart, not to mention the authors had various lifestyles, which indicates a supernatural derivation of scripture. Pink in Divine Inspiration explains, “The Bible was penned on two
The evidence collector has many roles to play at a crime scene other than just collecting evidence. Photographer, note taker, and scene sketch artist. As a photographer it is the evidence collectors responsibility to not only take pictures of evidence that has been found. But also of the whole scene in general. Entrance and exits, whole room, and surrounding areas that may or may not be involved. As the role of note taker an evidence collector must take detailed notes. Not only noting time of initial call, who made the call, and any facts given during that call. They must note the time that they arrived at the scene as well as other officers, along with the departure time. . It must also be noted who is on the scene; along with their movements
I believe DNA evidence is sufficient enough to convict someone without corroborative evidence. The reason I support this is because present DNA analysis allows a tissue sample to be identified with a single individual. This method has been used to solve crimes, establish paternity, and identify victims of war or large-scale disaster. DNA carries genetic information in a sequence of nitrogenous bases. DNA probes are used to identify the unique sequences in each person’s DNA. A DNA probe is made up of a synthetic sequence of DNA bases that is complementary to a small portion of the DNA strand. There are many accurate tests that are run when it comes to identifying a victim or potential criminal. DNA evidence is considered to be extremely reliable.
In an argument, the evidence you find needs to match in order to be persuasive. To prove a good piece of evidence it should match a specific time and place. There are three different types of evidence: facts, judgements, and testimonies. Evidence cannot stand alone, there always needs to be an explanation proving the significance of the evidence.
All the records in this investigation were collected by this reporting inspector, certified as true copies of original, and marked as items of proof.
Pascal declared, “The heart has its reasons that reason knows nothing about.” In our current society there are an increasing number of people that require observed evidence to understand their awareness of reality and carry on the tasks of life. They are known as Empiricists, and reason that the question of how we should form beliefs is different in nature from the question of how we should act. Yet contrary to this generally held perspective, and more in tune with William James’s take, I believe a person’s Beliefs, dissimilar to their actions, is not voluntary and is compelled by truth. Per se, it is only lawful that our passionate nature takes over when deciding between genuinely diverging propositions that cannot be decided on intellect
Gathering evidence which can be considered as relevant for something as systematic as a professional enquiry might often be seen as complicated for practitioners, especially in the light of the many types of data available for researchers to collect.
Operations Management by Heizer & Render. This secondary source of information helped us better understand manufacturing productivity, outsourcing, capacity planning, layout strategies, work measurement, inventory management and sampling. With regard inventory management we discussed with the stores person the tightrope walked between the cost of too little stock (raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods) and the cost of too much stock given that much of Hills Hats’ raw materials were imported.
