It’s important to note that I thought I had a clear grasp on professionalism before I ventured out into this work environment, however, everything I thought I understood about the workplace was thrown for a loop. The first lesson I learned was that professionalism does not always garner a suit and tie. I assumed people were supposed to look their best at work and dress in a manner that was not necessarily who they were outside of work. Interestingly enough, the dress code was definitely not suit and tie. The way to fit in was to dress like you did not try very hard, preferably in a band t-shirt and jeans. Also, I have been trained in every job I have been in to be 15 minutes early. At Shiny Penny Productions, my punctuality was almost a fault. My boss found it strange that I was always arriving before her, and I was usually there before everyone else if I am perfectly honest. There were many moments where the important employees would not show up on time due to hangovers and various other reasons. In a nutshell, I do not want to follow any of their examples for my future, but it was an interesting break from the usual and probably normal workplace standards. I would never take an ethics course from my internship boss as she proclaimed often about the amount of drugs she took or wanted to take. The good side of this was it opened my eyes to the true behind the scenes of the entertainment industry officials. Practically everyone smokes, but I won’t ever do that and I doubt I

To maintain a commitment to professionalism, I plan to stay informed on every childcare law and regulation, as well as the changes that occur through the DCF website (http://www.myflfamilies.com/service-programs/child-care). Maintaining my DCF (ECPC) certification as a childcare provider is also a key aspect of maintaining professionalism. These three resources are vital to achieve success in this field.
What does Professionalism mean to me? Professionalism in my term means it is someone who is very dedicated to their profession. It is an important and great decision to follow by the rules and ethics of professionalism. If we did not have anyone that cared about their profession it would cause a lot of problems in our society today. It could cause a lot of disruption in your workplace. In order to abide by professionalism you must take pride in your job, percieve realistic goals and values, and know what your expectations are.
Professionalism in the workplace, is the absolute key to having a successful, and smoothly run business. Professionalism is something that must be maintained by every individual within the work setting, especially in health care, whether it is the janitor, activity director, nursing assistant, doctor, or even the head administrator. Professionalism encompasses many aspects, such as teamwork, attitude, environment, knowledge, morals, and ethics.
The principles of professionalism are crucial for the pre-hospital environment. Maintaing and upholding professionalism allows pre-hospital to care to succeed and thrive.
Everywhere you go and in everything you do, professionalism comes in to account in some way or another. Professionalism has been defined as, “a strict adherence to courtesy, honesty and responsibility when dealing with individuals or other companies in the business environment” (Clarke, 2015). When it comes to the career of nursing, professionalism is taken to a whole other level. Not only does professionalism come in to account with your business professionals and peers, but you have patients with whom professionalism is highly practiced as well. Professionalism in nursing means that you are able to handle all the responsibilities given to you in an efficient and proper way. It means that when you are given an order that needs to be carried out by a doctor or a patient who needs your help, you adhere to what is being expected of you in a timely manner. Physicians put trust into nurses in order to carry out orders that are needed to save patients’ lives. If you’re not looked at as professional and responsible, it is going to be very hard to have a successful career. Responsibility is what nursing is all about. Professionalism in nursing means that along with taking on big responsibilities, you have discipline. Discipline in nursing is crucial to being successful. Not only to keep your patients safe, but so that you personally are on the ball and looked at by others as professional, therefore, making you a great nurse. Professionalism means that you have the
I will continue showing respect, empathy and dignity of the patient after graduation. I will make sure to continue behaving professionally throughout my career. It is very important for a healthcare professional to demonstrate professionalism, as once I become pharmacist it will be my responsibility that I reach on time to work, wear dress appropriately and behave in a nice manner to the patient. For example, after graduation I will continue to obey HIPPA law and other state laws which will mandate me to work in a particular way and which will not allowed me to share any personal information of a patient with anyone. Thus, by being punctual, respectful and responsible I will continue to advance my level of expertise in this particular outcome

Ultimately, we want someone who is protective and selfish about his or her unit but also develops a broad concern for the Army itself and its overall welfare. Is that level of duality even possible? There are substantial obstacles to being a profession and more so for being a professional. Busy training calendars, high turnover rates for Soldiers, increased competition for promotions, training courses, and lifelong learning is just some of the surface impediments. These points of concern along with others not listed lead to short attention spans (5 meter target), a focus on the individual rather than the team (my tent’s up) and a ticket punching mentality (my

The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines professionalism as the conduct, aims, or qualities that characterize or mark a profession or a professional person. Yet the White Paper on Pharmacy Student Professionalism says it is displaying values, beliefs and attitudes that put the needs of another about your personal needs. There is still another definition. The Medical Professionalism Project says professionalism is the basis of medicine's contract with society. It demands placing the interests of patients above those of the physician, setting and maintaining standards of competence and integrity, and providing expert advice to society on matters of health. In my opinion, a person's attitude, values, and behaviors

I set out to complete a performance episode that would improve the security position of my organisation and would show proactive behaviour to regulators. The first independent phase involved implementing a security protocol DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance) for different departments and third parties. Whereas the second phase involved implementing DMARC aggregate reporting that provides further security against malware for customers. Phase two involved setting up an official ‘project’ which required approval from finance, design assurance and a change committee.
In the HR and manager samples, the demographics included the respondent’s age, education level, number of employees at all locations and in the human resources department, and industry type. These are shown in the graphs. Open-ended responses were coded into descriptive categories for presentation purposes. The report shows the predominant categories. The data tables can be consulted for a complete review of all the coded responses.
Professionalism can be defined as “the conduct, aims, or qualities that characterize or mark a profession or a professional person.”(Merriam-webster) My interpretation of this definition is that professionalism is a standard that we must hold ourselves accountable to in order to provide the best service. How do we get from a basic understanding of this definition, to practicing and applying professionalism? Major attributes that lead to professionalism can include accountability, communication and reflective practice. Reflective practice in the healthcare system is when “practitioners engage in a continuous cycle of self-observation and self evaluation in order to understand their own actions and the reactions they prompt in themselves” (becoming a better university teacher…). In the day-to-day life, everyone performs a type of reflection whether it is by unconscious thought or by habit. When it is unintentional it is hard to learn and grow from the knowledge that can potentially be gained. Therefore we need to find a way to effectively incorporate reflective practice into our daily lives, especially as radiation therapy students.
