Reflection On The Crucible

What is my “crucible”? I feel like everyone has gone through something in their life that has affected them in some kind of way, whether it was good or bad. I have had quite a few “severe trials”, but I will only be writing about two of them. These experiences have shaped me into the person I am today. They have helped me build a stronger mettle. Life is a kludge, and I truly believe everything happens for a reason. You may not understand why something is happening in your life, but it all makes sense sooner or later. Last year, around the beginning of November, I rekindled with this guy. We’ve known each other since the second grade, and I used to have the biggest crush on him in elementary school. I got over it eventually, but then he started showing interest in me last year. I remember not knowing how to feel about this because I have trust issues, and because he wasn’t necessarily known for being the most trustworthy. He’s had many girlfriends in the past, and all his relationships never lasted very long, which made me extra skeptical. After about two weeks of him flirting and me not showing any interest, I decided to tell him that I wasn’t looking for a relationship, but I was willing to still be friends. From there, we would occasionally exchange smiles in the hallway, but we didn’t really talk much. About a month passed before he began texting me yet again.
