Reflective Essay: What Does Veterans Day Means

How did a Vietnam soldier's life change during and after the war. Society had a lot of different views regarding the soldiers and the war. When coming home veterans faced many distinct challenges. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial helped to heal the nation. The Vietnam War had a major impact on the United States and the soldiers who fought in it.

Veterans day is a very important day in America. In the book it says to prove this, "We push an empty chair to the table for the missing soldiers soldiers that are not here."From this quote we receive that most soldiers die because they risked their lives for us. Jason's wife states in the video, "...a soldier risks his life for a fellow soldier." This is evidence that soldiers are brave and will do almost anything to protect another soldier or anybody else. In the video it says, "A war zone is probably one of the most chaotic things you can ever go through." This evidence tells us soldiers are brave enough to put their lives at stake to save us. American soldiers do all of this to protect the country, so that is why they should get a special

Veterans day as we know it is important to all American citizens and we should all know how to celebrate, and know the affect of what veterans have fought for, and what Veterans day actually stands for and how we should respect the day as it is. Veterans day is a day for people to honor those who have fought for our country, the ones who we did not know, and our loved ones. On this day it is important to pay your respect to the men and women who fought and also fully understand why we have this day to honor them. Veterans day means a lot to me but mostly it means family. Many of my family members were veterans my father many uncles even a great grandmother. As I said many of my family were veterans and if it was not for family I would not be here. But if was not for veterans I would not be here either so if it was not for them the idea of being here would sound insane. I love my family and to think a large group of my family fought so I could be here makes me love them even more. Family is great and it is great to be able to experience it but some people’s family members died in the armed forces but at least they died serving the country. Why do we honor our veterans? Well because they serve and protect our country, they sign their life away, and they brave enough to take that risk. Those are just some of the very few reasons why we should. I think all us citizens should honor our veterans for what they do for our country.

Chris would not have passed his humanities class if it wasn't for all of the fun and interactive projects that he got to do. Veterans Day is a national holiday to commemorate fallen and current men and women for serving our country. One year after The Great War, November 11 was declared as Armistice Day by President Wilson. It officially became a holiday on June 1, 1954. Then later the name was changed to ‘Veterans Day’ on October 8th (Office of Public Affairs). From then on it was a widely celebrated holiday.

Memorial Day means a lot of things but to me it is a day which we honor all of the people who passed away while serving. They should be remembered for their good service because they kept us safe.

We should always keep honoring our veterans because they are braver than anyone else in the world. On Veterans Day or Remembrance Day as some people say we should celebrate it as one of the best holidays because no one else has had the guts to do all veterans did. They fought harder than anyone else, they worked harder than anyone else, and they are braver than anyone else. We should be respectful to every veteran. If you ever see someone that you know is a veteran then you should thank them. They should be remembered forever for what they did. I am glad that when they moved the holiday, the people did not like it and it was moved back to the right day. I think it just seems more respectful to have it on the right day. Veterans day
