Hello, Tera~~ Nice to see again this class. When I needed to finish refresh course in order to meet the qualification for Texas nursing board, I did on the telemetry floor for 80 hours. I think it is not enough time to recognize what is about and how can take care of patients in the telemetry flood. It was really good time to refresh my knowledge and nursing practice. I hope you keep your career and reach your goal. Regards,
Hi my name is Natalie Sparling, and I am taking this class as a pre-requisite for nursing. I am married and have two children, all while accomplishing the crazy tasks of working and school. I love learning and I am very excited to learn as much as I can in this class. I was born and raised in Redding, and I love the variety of things to do here. My family and I are very adventurous, and love to do anything outside! I am very excited to take this course with all of you!
Visiting Nurse Health System (VNHS) is experiencing difficulty in quantifying the benefits of their telemonitoring services used to provide care to patients recently discharged from hospitals. While the company believes these services provide real value to the patients, hospitals and insurance companies, VNHS is worried about the ability to provide future investment in the technology given the tenuous healthcare reimbursement environment. To continue to grow its telemonitoring services, VHNS should:
Telemetry nurses are progressive care health professionals. As a team, telemetry nurses are sometimes referred to as an intermediate or transitional care unit. They provide direct observation and constant care to patients who require constant monitoring for a variety of diseases, such as heart attacks, renal failure and advanced cancer. However, sometimes these patients progress from a less critical
Learning about nursing information systems and hospital information can help me to be a modern and a better nurse. Fortunately for me, my new job offers training for newly recruits. It is my goal to be able to understand and use the available nursing information software to improve patient care, to prevent unnecessary repetitions and to promote continuity of care in the next two months. I hope to achieve my goal by following my instructor closely and asking for clarifications where
I believe the content that I learned in this class will increase my success in nursing because this course thoroughly teaches one how to speak publicly, better communicate with my patients, and provide them with the necessary information they require throughout their visit/procedure. Along with the ability to communicate with patients and family; I believe it is also essential to have good communication between coworkers and supervisors. For example, during meetings or presentations that occur throughout the work year to be able to voice my opinion and present specific information effectively and persuasively is also an efficient skill set. I believe this course has taught me the necessary tools that will allow me to effectively communicate
As my freshman year comes to a end, I have learned a lot of new subjects and skills. I I’ve went through ups and downs with grades and friends around me. But I have had a wonderful time dealing with my peers that are right for me. And teachers that I have learned to trust. Many of my classes have taught me multiple things to take with me through highschool, but my AVID class have really impacted me for my freshamn year and taught new skills and life lessons that I can carry through my whole life. There are many words I can say about AVID but tthere are three things stick out to me that I will carry with me; always stay organized, be a leader among my peers, and don’t be afraid to try new things.
After the course, I plan to translate the skills and knowledge obtained in developing and writing research proposals that attracts funding. Currently, the MRC/UVRI unit is involved in efforts aimed at reducing and controlling infectious diseases, especially HIV: testing candidate vaccines, assessing treatment options and coming up with solutions for better management of infectious diseases. Therefore, I hope to use the acquired exposure and research skills to contribute to ongoing research at the unit. I trust that with the immense knowledge obtained through my master’s studies, I will be able to work independently while conducting scientific research. I intend to use my skills and time to ensure continuity of knowledge by building capacity
The webinar, “The Nurse Is In”, was presented to the school nurses, broadcasted through the Telehealth computer cart. Recording took place with the Jefferson room in the Trinity Towers.
At my practicum site I have always seen my supervisor and the other councilors go to treatment team meeting but I was never invited to go, so I was interesting and exciting for me to experience that. I also notice how the mental health level six facility I was at have a more in depth group therapy session, however the patients there are younger and they conduct therapy for six hours a day for their Intensive Outpatient Program, so there was more time to cover things. I also noticed how knowledgeable nurse case managers can be about insurance, so that explains why in some positions RNs can apply for some social work or case management
Tutoring these courses including six other biology and chemistry courses, highlights my proficiency in this competency.I acquired this competency by completing over 10 laboratory sections for different sciences course, including physics, biology, and chemistry. As a paramedic instructor, I also have experience conducting laboratory skill stations for students. These laboratory stations consist of a variety of procedure and assessment
The most enjoyable part about the capstone course was it did not feel like a class and felt more like a round table discussion. Being able to express our opinions about certain topics, made it easier to communicate with peers outside of the class. There was multiple people who I have class with before since my freshman year but did not truly engage in a conversation with them until this capstone course.
As the semester started, I had set my mind that I was destined to achieve a lot. During the start of the semester, I had several difficulties writing English assignments especially in terms of grammar. During the first week of the semester, I sat down, organized my thoughts and comprehended that throughout the semester, I had to achieve all that I had planned for. As a student of English, I had planned that throughout the semester, I had to improve my skills as a scholar, writer and critical thinker. Now that the semester has ended, I can reflect all the semester activities to depict how my writing skills and critical thinking skills have drastically improved. This paper presents a reflection paper of how this
This was a mock resumé that I created in my 12th grade AP english class. The resumé was used as a practice for when we need to create them for professional jobs later in life. We were asked to create a resumé in a standard format and include information about ourselves that would make a potential hiring manager want to pick us. I highlighted all of my achievements and my academic successes, as well as including my interests and contact information.
ENGL 1143, is a technical writing course that enlightened me on how to create technical documents such as cross-cultural business letter, letter on inquiry, professional memo, graphics creation and analysis, finding general web sources, conducting research in library database, individual recommendation reports, group proposal and group presentation professionally. I would consider my learning in the class a successful one because, I met the required goals of the course including communicating effectively, using correct APA format and citation, conducting detailed research. Above all I was able to work effectively both individually and collaboratively which helped in the successful execution of my group proposal paper and presentation.
I believe that true learning requires much more than simply listening to a lecture, reading from a book, or watching a video. While these all may be involved in the process of learning, hands-on experience and a real desire for knowledge of the subject are needed to truly learn.
