The main reason why I knew Pediatric Registered Nursing was for me was through the many years of working with kids, as well as my personal interests and skills. Since I worked with kids, I gained a lot of patience and understanding, I always had a place in my heart for kids. You hear a distinct crashing sound in the near distance following a loud screeching noise while driving down a dimly lit road. As you are driving down the road you come upon a car wreck and you can see people that need your help. You jet out of your vehicle and immediately get your medical bag with all your instruments that you use to save lives. You have to react fast because the people that crashed have already lost a lot of blood and will not survive if they wait for the ambulance to arrive. You start the normal procedure by cutting off their clothes to find where the wounds are or anything that needs to be attended to. You try to cut off the blood flow and apply pressure to the wounds to slow down the amount of blood loss in the patient

The nursing field is an important field and it interests me due to wanting to help other people. I would like to explore my options within the field but I feel compelled to work with children that have disabilities or have developmental delays. I am not sure where I would like to work, a hospital setting may be too stressful but I can gain valuable experience. The beauty of a nursing career is the diversity, and flexibility, there is an abundance of employment opportunities and locations where a nurse can work. This is another reason why I have chosen this career. A nurse may work in a doctor’s office, as a home health nurse, traveling nurse, hospital, nursing home, and critical care. In addition a nurse has many advancement opportunities. I would like to eventually be a nurse practitioner.
