Border Violence, This only happens in the border such as in Presidio Tx & Ojinaga Chih, El Paso Tx & Juarez, Del Rio Tx & Acuna, and San Diego Cali & Tijuana and so on. Border violence is a very unhealthy and violent thing to be around especially if you’re young and grow up around it, it would prevent many scars in your life. Border violence is the triple threat of drug smuggling, illegal aliens, violent gangs, and the concomitant rise in violence is no more evident than in the state of Texas. The illegal alien smugglers, drug smugglers and criminal gangs use these major highways to then spread into America. Will it ever get better? They recently announced that safety and security along the border is better than ever and the ongoing violence
The United States Border Patrol is a police force located all over America. Most people think the only job Border Patrol has is chasing down immigrants due to the media coverage on the Mexican border. Although it is a big part of the job it is not the only thing done. The main position for agents is in Mexico, another main location is Canada. Between the two locations 21,000 agents patrol 6,000 miles. (Department of Homeland Security, n.d.) The Border Patrol’s keeps illegal people, drugs, and weapons of mass destruction from entering our country. Another major responsibility is to prevent terrorist from trying to cross the border. In order to prevent this from happening Border Patrol have check points with man power alert at all times. Equipped with the best equipment from the government they stop virtually everything crossing. I along with most of the country feel that this is a very important job in the United States.

There are many hotly debated and contentious issues today. Issues that people often find themselves arguing about with their friends, or something that people have a very strong presupposed belief of. But none more hotly debated or more querulous perhaps, than our immigration system. Very few issues have the magnitude and aptitude to tear an entire nation apart, and this is one of them. As with every struggle, there are two point of views. There are those that welcome the cultural differences and the economical possibilities that immigrants bring with them, along with their traditions and their work ethic. On the opposite side, there are those that view them as a potential threat to our barely recovering economy and to their American way of
Many remember December 14th of 2012 when Adam Lanza shot and killed 20 students and 6 members of the faculty of Sandy Hook Elementary School. Mr. Lanza was a troubled man, enough so that he was driven to shoot his own mother and take possession of her weapons which he would use to wreak havoc on the school whose name would go down in history. A report released...by Connecticut’s Attorney for the District of Danbury says...guns and ammunition involved...at Sandy Hook Elementary were legally purchased by Nancy Lanza [his mother] and then stolen by her son, Adam. One would have to be delusional to believe that Adam would not have found a way to inflict this violence, and that is the unfortunate reality; however, one must wonder whether or not
Gun violence has been a problem for quite a long time in America and it can't go on. Gun violence needs to come to a stop, but what is going to happen to bring it to an end. Many lives are being taken every year from high powered guns and what can happen to prevent it. There aren't many things that can prevent these things from happening, but it can be stopped.
Growing up as a child of immigrants, I have witnessed tremendous amount of interpersonal and structural violence immigrants faced. In my professional career, I aspire to defend others who do not have a voice and who do not have the privilege to fight for their communities due to structural constraints like immigration status and legal status. Subsequently, I would like to become a judge after a few years and then become senator to have a greater impact on change within our country. I want to create an impact that contributes to more than just my community as I understand that there are communities like my own across the United States. This nation ⸺as well as my local communities and state government⸺ is in desperate need for people to take
The concept of securing the border limiting immigration is reliant on the fact that by having a “fence” it captures more illegal immigrants, rather than not having one at all. To better secure the border the fence is a first step. I think that there are better ways to secure the border such as employing more unemployed Americans to help patrol this barrier. I feel that in today’s society many Americans would rather see their tax dollars going to use. I would also suggest we pull more troops out of Iraq and encourage their use on our home soil.
Recent Surveys have shown that police brutality typically occurs in areas that are predominately African American and that have police departments that are composed of non-minority Officer. For Example in Ferguson Missouri there is a population of approximately blank. Minorities account for only about 5.6% of the population. White American citizens only made up blank percent. The demographics of Ferguson’s Police Department show that white Officer outnumbered African American officers 51 to 3.
There could be many reasons that are causing the violence in the city of Milwaukee, such as, not enough jobs, many teens dropping out of school at a young age, and life is just too compacted for some. Another serious problem could be that, people are having problems verbally communicating with individuals that they have a problem with.
Border Patrol agents constantly live with that fear of not knowing when your last day is. Agents are threatened on a daily basis by illegal immigrants, natural wildlife, and the weather. When considering a career as a Border Patrol agent, a person must carefully look into the responsibilities this will entail, the skills one must have to succeed, plus other important aspects such as working conditions, salary and the future of the job; however, just as important is to carefully prepare oneself for this profession by attending the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
Gun violence is very prominent in the United States. It has been for quite some time. There are several problems with how people are accessing firearms, and the type of firearms they are buying. People are accessing firearms way to easy nowadays. Some of these firearms are stolen or illegal. We need to somehow crack down on firearms and how these men and women are accessing them so easily. According to BBC, “Some 13,286 people were killed in the US by firearms in 2015, and 26,819 people were injured. These figure exclude suicides.” They also stated “There were 372 mass shootings in the US in 2015, killing 475 people and wounding 1,870, according to the Mass Shooting Tracker, which catalogues such incidents. A mass shooting is defined as a single shooting incident which kills or injures four or more people, including the assailant.” These numbers are outrageous and something needs to be done.
Illegal immigration has become a huge issue in the United States, it is estimated that there are about twelve million illegal immigrants living in the U.S. today and that number is growing larger every day. This issue has caused multiple social, economic, safety, and law issues within the country. The state and federal government is using billions of dollars on things such as school, welfare, and medical and receiving minimal or no money in return simply because they are giving out the money to illegal immigrants who do not pay taxes to help fund things. Even though illegal immigrants help the economy, take low paying jobs, and improve the overall image of America, the U.S. must not allow any persons who enter this country illegally to
To create terrorism is to create unlawful violence or war that is intentionally targeted to civilians. It can also be defined as a systematic use of terror to induce violent attacks that often lead to war. The network of Al-Qaeda, created by terrorist leader Osama Bin Laden, was formed by the World Islamic Front for Jihad against Jews and their Crusaders. Right after its creation, there were attacks at the US embassies in Kenya in 1998. Bin Laden then planned for the attacks after 2000, as there was an attempt to bomb Los Angeles International Airport but it was stopped. In October 2000, the USS Cole bombing occurred. This was immediately followed by the infamous September 11 2001 terrorist attack. This point in time kickstarted the beginning of wartime in North America.
The United States and Mexican border has been a topic long debated between citizens and politicians, on one hand the trade between the two countries has shown great economic prosperity since the introduction of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), notwithstanding this success there has also been a huge spike in human trafficking and other illegal activity since the inception of the border. While the growth of the GDP for all three countries involved (United States, Mexico, Canada) has become evident it is unclear whether it is truly fair to all parties involved.
The police officers perspective I cross the border and the officer telling me that I can't cross the border. The officer and I start arguing and he ask me the reason why I breaking the law an I told him my situations. I told him that Isis destroy our house and killing my family. The officer didn't care what I'm telling
