Guernica is an artwork created by a Spanish artist Pablo Picasso is known to the one of the most significant and powerful anti- war paintings in history. This is based on is home country Spain which affected the Spaniards. During the catastrophe, a civil war was also taken place against its own country in 1937. Since he released that incident was happening it influenced Picasso to Paint Guernica.
Cubist Spanish Artist Pablo Picasso, illustrated the artwork Guernica in 1937 while the time he was in Paris. It is an oil painting on canvas which main utilising the palates grey, black and white. It is currently at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia (Spain’s national museum), Madrid in Spain. Upright, the mural’s dimensions are standing at 349cm high and the extension of 777cm wide.

Furthermore, Picasso being born a Spaniard assuredly motivated him to focus what was happening during the bombardment. Guernica is a visual representation of the way that he felt about the world. With Guernica, Picasso wanted to establish his uniqueness and develop as an artist when opposed with political authority and unbearable violence. In the mural, the newspaper used in the background of the painting reveals how he found out about the bombing. The light bulb at the very top of the painting is a reference to the sun, depicting that nothing is going to bring warmth and happiness with the circumstances that it’s gone through.
