Medical Treatments for Infertility
How can something so simple be so traumatic? How can the results of something fun be so painful in the end? Infertility is a silent enemy of many men and women. This dreaded problem affects almost one out of six couples. But thankfully, we have plenty of treatments that can help people deal with this easier.
There is many reasons why people have infertility. One of the many is Endometriosis, which is a disease that affects many women during their reproductive age. This disease is associated with pelvic pain. A ton of modern medicine is now offering women with this debilitating disease treatment options for relief from both the pain and infertility. A committee opinion from the American for Reproductive Medicine stated, “Treatment of Endometriosis in the setting of infertility raises a number of complex clinical questions that do not have simple answers.”(Brown 1) To further explain what Endometriosis is, this terrible disease involves growth of tissue that looks like the endometrium in places outside the uterus. …show more content…

The committee of the ASRM published guidelines for a regular evaluation of infertility. The evaluation includes a semen analysis, ovulation assessment, and hysterosalpingogram.”(Quaas and Anuja 1) The main treatments for unexplained infertility include expectant observation with timed intercourse and changes of lifestyle.

Male infertility is diagnosed through sperm counts, different blood tests, many other tests and a testicular biopsy. Male infertility can be treated through artificial insemination, IVF, GIFIT, and ICSI. Sperm problems is the most common causes of male infertility. The sperm could be immature, misshaped, or unable to swim. In some cases, men may not make any sperm at all.”(Male Infertility
