My favorite board game growing up is Mancala. Mancala is a wooden board game with gemstone created as an Asian and African game originally played with stones or seeds. Each side of the board game has 12 small cups and one large cup on each end. Each small cup gets four stones and whoever goes first must try to get there stones in the large cup at either end of the board. The number of stones in the small cups could build up to much more as each player has a turn. If you drop your stones in the large cup either end of the board you get another go, if it lands in one of the small cups on either side of the board then it's no longer your ago at the finish placing all your stones in each cup. I think this is an excellent game for math strategy
Now, how does the Latino culture play a part of a Latina’s self-esteem? There is this concept, Marianismo, that affects a girl's self-esteem in a good and bad way. Marianismo is the female equivalent of machismo; it is considered to be the realization of the feminine, and characterized by hyper feminine behavior. This could seem bad because it’s basically women accepting their roles, such as, housewives, in the Mexican culture.
The main problem of Manzana Fruitvale is a significant loss in profits. It originates in operating performance failures characterized by a total throughput time of 8.2 days. This situation can be improved through structural changes in the underwriting process, reorganization of the incentive structure and redefinition of priorities concerning renewal policies. The total turnaround time (TAT) then decreases to 0.7 days.
Have you ever heard the legend about La Llorona known as “The Weeping Women”?Do you hear that? Do you hear that crying noise? People say that if you hear her cry expect death! La Llorona is real, even though people say she is she is an urban legend. There has been sightings of her in many places.
The game was about the following direction while creating different shapes using mathematical concepts such as lines, left and right. I had to create figures with blocks as I moved along. There were several sections that I had to complete. Each section was getting a little more complicated to accomplish because there were more steps to follow. You can say that we had to use algorithms because we had to follow a process to problem solve. I had to read and know which direction I would choose so that my character would finish their task. In order to pass to the next level, you were supposed to finish the first puzzle or section that you were on. The game that I had did not provide hints like the first one that I tried. The game had a lot of repetition which provided a choose for several turns in one.

La Llorona is to Mexican and Chicano children, what the Bogeyman is to American kids. La Llorona is almost like a mythical monster made to scare kids into good behavior. The story is about a women who drowns her children after she is betrayed by her husband. Later, her spirit returns and roams the streets while she weeps, in search of her kids. I am sure that stories of La Llorona are almost like a household name in every Mexican home. I remember when i was a little kid, my summer days, were spent playing outside until the sunset. I’d rush home before the sun went down, because if got too dark then I’d fear that La Llorona would be lurking somewhere in the back alleys. But why is La Llorona lurking in Denver’s back alleys? Well, even though
A maquiladora is a manufacturing plant based in Mexico where foreign companies import materials and equipment, on a duty free and tariff free basis, for the purposes of processing, manufacturing, or assembling goods which are then exported to other countries. The idea behind these maquiladoras promises a prosperous Mexican society. On paper, it really does seem like NAFTA is living up to expectations; creation of more jobs and a much less unemployment rate. On the surface, there seems to be nothing wrong with what’s going on in Mexico in terms of employment. Everyone has jobs and everyone is getting paid for these jobs, so what’s the issue? Despite all of this, the degrading and terrible working conditions imposed upon the maquiladora workers
Maquiladoras are assembly plants clustered mostly in northern Mexico, along the U.S. border. The factories employ 17 percent of the Mexican work force, this makes maquiladoras Mexico’s second largest source of jobs but some people would say that the negatives weight over the positives. Some negatives about this situation are that how the Mexican government does not have full control of the factories, how the employees have to work in harsh conditions and, the employees get paid a low wage. Maquiladoras have both a positive and negative effect on the Mexican economy because of the poor work conditions, however the large numbers of the population they employ cannot be ignored.
At the Día De Los Muertos event there were many people especially Hispanic families. Across the event, there was a museum that had arts of people dressed at Aztecs, Día De Los Muertos skeletons, a big altar, and painted skulls. The museum was not big, but showed some historical moments of the Día De Los Muertos. They also showed the culture being alive. Inside the event there were also quite a lot of volunteers that seemed to be from the high school that was hosting the event. Furthermore, we managed to see ABC7 news at the event which surprised us. We saw them interview some people from the event. The volunteers on the other hand, were either helping people sell food, paint people’s face, or ask people if they want to donate some change. They
There are many urban legends that persist to this day. Some are told as traditions throughout families, while some are told as part of their culture. Urban legends are still told today because some people believe in certain legends, or want to scare others. One legend that is part of the Hispanic culture and is still told today is La Llorona/ The Weeping Woman.
“I, Rigoberta Menchu” by Menchu is an autobiography that details the genocide of the Mayan people in Guatemala. The book has earned her the Nobel Peace Prize in 1992 for publishing the truth about the trials and tribulations that the indigenous people of Guatemala faced. The problem is that the autobiography has been found to be untrue. The details of the book were fabricated by Menchu, in an attempt to send her message about the indigenous Guatemalan people 's struggles. This has created a controversy amongst Latin American scholars, as well as amongst the education system that requires the autobiography as reading material. The entirety of the situation has even called into question whether or not the content of the book could be taken seriously as material because of this fabrication.
