The newest Nicholas Sparks inspired movie, The Choice, came out on February 5th. This is riveting tale of a guy and a girl who fall in love, with some major obstacle getting in the way. Grab your tissues, because by the end of the movie, your favorite character will have most likely died. I'm going to be brutally honest with you, I've never seen this movie, I'm just going off of what the rest of his novels are about. I bet I'm right though. Most of Nicholas Sparks’ novels are super fun to read, so I suggest that you hardcore NS fans read them. I've personally read like six of them, they're pretty cool. Honestly I totally forgot that this article is about the movie and not Nicholas Sparks novels, so I'm going to go ahead and give this film a

Nicholas Sparks’ tragic love story The Notebook is a touching story about two people and their eternal passion of true love which is beautifully portrayed by Nick Cassavetes in the film. Pathos is used in the film to draw members of the audience to the characters and influence them to feel passionate towards the characters. Cassavetes does this by making the movie more dramatic than the book. The director effectively uses pathos to add drama in The Notebook which makes the movie’s audience more emotionally connected to the story. The plot is evidently more climatic as the main events are exaggerated in the film. The feel of the overall screenplay is distinctive than the novel. The characters also play

Unless the story is about something the writer knows nothing about then there shouldn’t be hard facts throughout the story. The research that might need to be put in a story should be incorporated in the story not stated in it. If a list of facts interrupts the flow of the story it loses the flow of it. I agree with Stephen King when he says, “That’s where research belongs: as far back in the background and the back story as you can get it.” Research is boring to most people when it does not matter. The main reason someone is reading the piece of writing is for the story of it not the facts about it.
Kurt Vonnegut jr. was an American author with a gloomy view of humanity, survived WWII on the front lines, was captured by Germans, and the first 3 books he wrote were about a universe with no purpose. Even with all these downfalls there is no doubt that Kurt Vonnegut was one of the greatest writers of his time.
Stephen King is arguably one of the greatest writers of our time. He has not only written over 60 books, but most of his novels end up on the New York Times best seller list. He has a loyal fan base, which always are willing to endure his lengthy books because they know that it will be worth their time in the end. King himself, though, has had to deal with a lot of his own demons. He has struggled with both drugs and alcohol (How Stephen King, programwp.com). While King's alcoholism and drug addiction would eventually lead to rehab, it was during this time of the advisory that King would write many of his greatest works.
Kurt Vonnegut’s works were affected by his dark viewpoint on human existence, that death is inevitable and his lack of trust, but are most well known for his use of black humor to express it. Kurt Vonnegut’s most famous books included Slaughterhouse-Five, Cat’s Cradle, and Breakfast of Champions, but he wrote many others. According to “Kurt Vonnegut Jr.”, Vonnegut’s writing style was considered postmodernism. Postmodernism is the use of choppy, vernacular sentences that go against traditional rules of plot, theme, time, and character development. He demonstrated social myths and viewed the world differently with new ideas and thoughts (5).
Writer Stephen King has written over fifty bestselling books and has been awarded multiple awards. He went from struggling to reach ends meet to becoming one of the most acclaimed writers in the country. After reaching the peak of his success, King compiled a list of sixteen rules that every writer, especially students, should try to adhere to. While some may be of minimal help, others are significant and should be followed by every AP Language and Composition student.

Kurt Vonnegut was born on November 11, 1922, in Indianapolis Indiana. Kurt Vonnegut, his sister Alice and brother Bernard were fourth-generation Germans, and were never exposed to their heritage because of the anti-German attitude that spread in the U.S. after WW1. Vonneguts lost most of their wealth from the Great Depression. Vonnegut’s father Kurt Vonnegut Sr. fell into severe depression, and his mother Edith Lieber overdosed on sleeping pills and died the night before Mother’s Day.
Rising to fame comes with its downsides: no privacy, always being in the publics’ eye and opening a new world such as drugs and parties. Throughout Steven Kings memoir he tells stories that got him into writing, and that have inspired some of his most critically acclaimed novels. He goes into detail on how he was able to overcome his drug addiction. If I were able to present a gift to Stephan King it would rehab earlier in his life, his drug addiction caused him to write many of his stories without him remembering the creative process.

Nicholas Sparks was born on December 31, 1965, in Omaha, Nebraska (Jessica Estremera). He was the second of three children born to Patrick Sparks, a college professor, and his wife Jill. Nicholas spent the early part of his childhood moving around with his family as his father finished up his graduate work (Biography Channel website). "Because my father was a student until I was 9 years old and my mother didn't work, we weren't exactly living the high life when I was little. I grew up on powdered milk and ate tons of potatoes, though to be honest, I never noticed how poor we really were until I was old enough to take an honest appraisal of things. Even then, it didn't matter. For the most part, I had a wonderful childhood
